That wrestling background is all on video. Hand fighting, strong base, keeping his hands inside, lateral quickness, oh and the wrestling mindset to dominate the man across from him. This dude is going to eat. My favorite pick cause i know he is an ⚓.
@godlessbob8 ай бұрын
It's so apparent that wrestling helped his technique that it really makes me wonder why NFL teams don't teach wrestling techniques to their linemen. I would think it would also make for better tackling as well.

Glaze is projected as a better guard than tackle. Does it make sense they want to develop him (Glaze) to play guard when Powers eventually moves over to center?

I love the JPJ pick. I wanted a guard more than a tackle as we have Munford. People focus on tackles the most but DT play has improved so much and they can push to the QB faster than an Edge as they are closer. Plus I think Munford is good enough to let him try and start for a year he just needed some competition and depth behind him.

I gotta bitch about our first pick. Bowers may have been the best available, but Fuaga was not far below and was a much bigger need. Just think if we had taken Fuaga at #13, we could have taken Haynes at #77 and our OLine would be Miller, Parham, JPJ, Haynes and Fuaga. That would be one of the best OLines in the NFL. If they really wanted a tight end, they could have taken Sinnot a little later in the draft, or if they just wanted another receiver, Brenden Rice was still on the board when we took Trey Taylor. That is the other thing I really can't wrap my head around. Rice would be a day 1 starter. Trey Taylor is a special teamer and maybe 3rd and short box safety who would have been there when we picked again 6 picks later.

Mr Johnson is not human.
@OldManRaiderNation678 ай бұрын
The only player we drafted that will probably make a real impact this year. Every other pick is a developmental player including Bowers. Overall I would give this draft a C+ maybe a B-. For a team that wants to win now we did nothing to put us in the position to do that. Everything we just did is for the future. So reality is we are going into the season with a rookie HC, 2 QB's that would be backups on 31 other teams, no starting RB, and a questionable O-line. At least with this guy he helps with one thing we needed. All the other picks are projects. So either we are purposely tanking and Davis is okay with it to get a franchise QB next year. Or AP is being set up to fail to prove a point to the players that they need to shut up and play football and stop interfering with team management. Either way hiring a GM who had a failing track record, and a failed OC instead of an up and comer like Kingsbury showed me we were not serious in winning now. If Davis wanted to win then he would hire people on the rise not other teams trash they got rid of for failing at their jobs. Telesco did what everyone did before him and screwed up the 1st round pick(24 years of failed 1st round picks). Even worse he failed to trade to put us into contention for a QB. Then Getsy as OC is another issue. He failed at OC and failed to develop a rookie QB(Fields) possibly ruining him and his career to boot. These are not hires you make if you want to win. Now most fans will never be critical and support everything the Raiders do. A lot of you thought McDaniels was a great hire. I said from day 1 he was going to fail and dismantle the team in the process just like he did in Denver. Well we all know how that turned out. I was right! Again I am saying nothing that we have done says win now. Going into the season with Uncle Rico or O'Connell at QB says Tank to me. Not that either lacks ability, they are just not leaders. The QB is the most important player on the team. He is the face, heart, and soul of the team. Neither of our current QB's have the quality or talent to be "The Guy". I like them both but reality is neither are leaders. Minshew has had 6 chances to be a starter, while O'Connell proved he lacked leadership by not securing his job already. Just saying we are in no way set to win this season. We are set to tank however. The players we drafted will be better next year, and all we will need is a QB and a couple other pieces to complete the rosters for years to come. Raider Nation "The TANK is happening" I would bet all I have that we are tanking.
