Hey all, hope this video helps you see why top CN players are so heavily respected in TFT & won 3 championships in a row. We around with new tools such as telestration! Hope y'all like it. If it's more distracting than helpful let me know. 2 things I didn't mention in the video that I thing is worth bringing up. First, MF items don't matter much because she was 1* and we were chasing 3* Sona. Items on 3* >> Items on 1* units! The second thing is DON'T PLAY ULTIMATE EZREAL WITH UNDERGROUND EZREAL. Parallel makes Ezreal's ability count as ONE projectile instead of two, reducing your quickdraw activations. Also, at the time of this comment, there's currently a bug that makes it not work with Rising Spell Force entirely so avoid that so you don't end up writing yet a twitlonger.

Good note, I missed that! So many intricate, layered decisions that are easy to gloss over. Dragon's Claw would make 60s damage much less effective.

After watching the vid, also noticed that he made the d cap on sona to utilize the jeweled lotus. Personally I would have gotten for a tank item, but he recognized he could just go for tank items later on (especially with the anvil carousels in this set). The ezreal dmg is great, but sona definitely duo carried with the healing and damage.

There are so many tiny things that add up to give this guy an edge. Notice how he clicks to move his little legend around the board and moves the units on his bench back and forth during down time. It's sooo minor, but it would have a tiny effect on the ability of opponents to quickly read his board while scouting. Barely any edge at all, but still. Maybe there's that 1 game in 50 where an opponent is scouting everyone, and lingers for an extra second looking at your board because it's not static information, causing them to delay a decision by a tiny bit, and barely miss dropping a unit to move it... shifting the balance of the next round and costing them hp that gives YOU the edge, and you end up in 4th with them in 5th, with a small hp difference.

Does more Quickdraws benefit Ezreal in terms of damage or is it like Kaisa? Because it looks like the first projectile which only chills and doesn't deal damage gets doubled and if that's the case playing Ultimate Ezreal would benefit the Ezreal more. (UE could have been more beneficial even if Ezreal does benefit from extra Quickdraw damage.) Edit: I just read the other comment that explained rising spell force gets bugged with parallel so now I know why he didn't use it.

I think some of what might be hurting rising spell force is that it's bugged - running parallel breaks it. Not sure how or why but he straight up doesn't gain the stacking stats. People not knowing and screwing up their small ez probably tanks the stats at least a little bit.

That does play a big part of it, yeah. That said, I have heard many top players I respect also say they think Rising Spellforce is straight up weaker than Unrelenting Force (Vi) and not worth playing. So those combined factors led me to pick this game specifically

@Frodan You should never take the data at face value. The data provided by these websites are raw data and must be interpreted like this: Ezreal augment has a bad placement, therefore it must be bat right? no. Ezreal augment has a bad place IN the SITUATION in which people pick it. Basically, people are most likely picking ezreal augment because they are going for underground, and they are only going for underground because they feel like they are in a bad early game position and must give up their early game for a potential comeback later in the game. Ezreal augment is picked when people are behind = low placement, but it doesnt mean it is inherently bad.

You want to win early underground games, because the loss streak isnt worth the vault lock cracks, losing underground early is really punishing since the reward for losing vs winning isnt a good trade off, which is why he went for the level 4 and slammed the renek carry early

I actually did make from last place with 8 point to the first against one with 100 and other one with 58 points. I had under ground till stage 7 and then goodness i got so many good items. with so many golds got insta 3 champs with 3 stars and poor dudes had no chance got them from top to the under me

@frodan do you consider this a highroll game? as a masters player i see this as a 1 in 4 start. i know that's not the focus of the video but just curious how you feel about being able to replicate the success of this game.

Yeah I consider it a generally high roll start because he hits 4 underground pretty early. That said, I think it's important to highlight games where you do spot the highroll opening and be able to convert off of it. I think many players would have made different decisions with this opener which is why I chose to highlight it.

@@FrodanTV i appreciate the effort put into it. lots of people have an idea of what they wanna do, preconceived really. when they don't get those units, they're often hitting something else but blame RNG for not getting units in their endgame board. on the other side of the coin though, undergrounds is a really easy line to spot. you'll also save life if you 2 star the units without rolling, have immediately good items, like rank 1 here. i'm curious how much he'd roll if he didn't 2 star everything naturally. maybe cashout at 5 and play catchup at level 8. the real highlight for me was spotting the positioning differences. that's the marginal stuff that got him to a 2nd place finish IMO. most people would finish 4th from that position.

@@nanaapple8100 Thanks for the thought out reply. I agree that his spot was very strong and very likely to Top 4 based on his stage 2. But I also want to feature all the small things he tries to optimize to improve his placements against elite competition. I'm glad you came to the same conclusion! Learning how to play TFT from all kinds of spots (very unlucky to very lucky) is important to develop all skillsets. I'll be sure to pick a less dominant opener and show more difficult spots for the next one.

Stand United would’ve given ~ 20 AP and 24% AD for most of top 6, wouldn’t that have added more value than jeweled? Jeweled lotus gave his second carry crit but feels somewhat wasted on ez and his frontline uses Stand at least somewhat similarly to jeweled lotus

The impact of crit strike on abilities is 140% damage, so it scales much higher than 20-25% flat AP/AD in this situation. Both are solid choices, but the Jeweled Lotus is better in the immediate and has a higher ceiling late game in my opinion.

Can't believe he didn't take the ezreal on carousel, in my experience, parallel trait makes a 3 star ez with augment the strongest hypercarry in the game. 3 Quickdraw over parallel trait just can't be right.

Parallel is actually downgrading Ezreal's ability for Quickdraw activations because his straight-line Parallel ability only counts as 1 projectile instead of 2. This means that Ultimate Ezreal is actually downgrading Underground Ezreal's damage. 😔

You even say in the Video how often he got stuck on small hp units. But if it's bugged with rising spellforce that's a whole other point...

@@xXNiggooXx It's a valid question. I don't have the math available to me right this moment so I can't back that up with numbers. The way it's been explained to me in the past is that hitting the whole board isn't Ezreal's win condition -- it's stalling for Ezreal to scale so that his casts the 2nd half of the fight keep getting strongest. His first few casts, while impactful, aren't nearly as important as the casts later in the fight. Nor would it be strong enough to kill backliners before they potentially heal up. However, like I said, these are explanations based on other top challenger experiences so I don't have any proof myself. If there was evidence to suggest otherwise, I'm happy to walk back everything I said about this hahaha. Also the bug does make it ineffective entirely so obviously don't even try it until they fix that 😛

I see you're saying on the surface (it's 2-1 underground, he goes for a 4 heist), but don't necessarily agree. He didn't try to lose streak and instead went for high-tempo and didn't even make econ until late Stage 2. Took an augment people consider to be quick weak. Didn't start gathering Supers until stage 4. These are only some of the factors of why it's interesting on top of all the small micro decisions he optimizes to show how deep he thinks about the game. And to top it all off, it's in a high-stakes tournament environment against the best players in the region (multiple worlds finalists and the reigning world champion). I think it's a very impressive game!
