It goes like this you get a license I don't think it matters where you get your license as long as you don't get it from CR England (Central Refrigerated) out west, or Swift. Whether you get your license from a Truck school or go to a company and get it thru them I don't think it really matters, practice, practice, practice your backing and taking turns wide enough in city/town driving to make the turns, mirror checks. Remember your driving that Trailer too, get your shifting down, float or double clutch, it's a lot to remember in the beginning, and you will make mistakes, pay attention and hopefully nothing catastrophic will happen. 1st year of Trucking will suck you'll be lucky if you take home $500-600 a week, they're gonna ask you to Team Drive not a bad idea when you're starting out, Lots to learn, don't lease a Truck before you know the business like the back of your hand, Good Luck Rookies.
@jrvapor9 жыл бұрын
Yea, No kidding 1st year Sucks balls, I definitely wouldn't lease a Truck unless you really know what you're getting into, and as long as you're gonna take the plunge to lease might as well buy your own truck, and you'll obviously know what's going on by then so why not be an owner rather than a borrower. That and booking your own loads, can make the difference between $600-$1000 bucks a week and any where from $3000-$10,000 a week sure you'll be paying for everything but you'll never make anywhere near the same profit otherwise, but occasionally you will have to bite the bullet and part with a lot of your hard earned cash, especially if you're out running like you oughtta be, the more miles you do the more maintenance it's that simple, Lots a Luck to all who take the plunge.

Liam, don't get discouraged. Yes getting into the US and Canada can be difficult. However it IS possible to get a work Visa for trucking. It is an in demand industry and quite simply there are not enough drivers to fill the jobs. You would have a much easier time getting into Canada though. We could use your help over here in the good 'ol US of A too. We were all at one time or another like you.
