Taking 20 years to build a replica is crazy 😂 I didn’t realize that was common. Just get a job, bro 😂😂
@kw00173 ай бұрын
Replica's make more sense if they are older, simpler cars. Say a Porsche 356 speedster, or a GT40. 60's engineering and build techniques and materials are easier and more cost effective to replicate
@SuperCooper19873 ай бұрын
I dare to say with modern building techniques and safety standards a replica of a old car may even be safer than the original. Something like having airbags in a more modern steering wheel where a older car wouldn't have.

A countach was never close to free. What, 125-175k for a used one at its lowest? This was back when very very few would hand out 60-80 k on any car.
@desertsandfly22773 ай бұрын
It honestly makes more sense to make a replica of a very old car from 70s, 80, or 90s. The materials are actually cheaper and the designs are much more simple to replicate. And you can even even build these cars from the ground up like a Ford GT40 or a shelby cobra.

95% of replicas and kits are crap, BUT the good ones are a MUCH better deal than a genuine collector or exotic car. You have to know what to look for and know what you’re doing.
@JakeAkstins3 ай бұрын
Honestly, I wouldn't mind getting a Ferrari f8 spider body and having a c8 corvette engine in it. This is assuming the body kit is a reasonable price, probably 20k or less to install and buy
@marvisjone56673 ай бұрын
Do you think you’re gonna get an entire Ferrari body from factory for 20 K? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@JakeAkstins3 ай бұрын
@@marvisjone5667 I saw online that a vador body kit was around 20k. Wouldn't a Ferrari one be around the same if it existed?

Maybe for an A/C cobra but any other replica would be more difficult to sell

I am 100% good with replicas because of what the guys says, you can get in for cheap and drive it not worrying about breaking it but and big BUT only if it looks good. Some look awful.

Replicas of cars that are newer than the 1960's just never look good to me or make sense. And a decent modern car replica isn't cheap, people will spend six figures to build these cars, and for that some price i'd rather buy something else or build something else. A Shelby Cobra or Porsche 356 is a pretty simple car so replica's turn out good and make sense.

I seen a replica Ferrari F40 - the proportions were way off, it was almost comical. Either get the real thing or don't bother.

The ground up kit cars that are 1 to 1 identical copy's of classic cars you can no longer afford are SUPER cool. I lived by a guy with a car that was a Shelby cobra, but was made in a factory 5 years ago and assembled in his garage. Identical in every other way. THATS what I want.

Restomod is smart too since you have brakes, better cooling system, and whatever safety related concerns not originally planned

If your making a replica it should be from the 70s or before because they are simple cars trying to replicate a modern car will never look good to much technology

@@guhbe385the problem is, you know you’re faking it. I’m not buying a fake watch for the same reason i wouldn’t buy a fake car, i want at least some return on an expensive purchase.

@@dasmg yeah I feel the same way. Just saying a fake car is way worse of an idea then a fake watch. So to be into wanting a fake a car but a real watch is the odd part. I feel like if I can sell a 10k watch 5 years later for 8-12k then it was more then worth it getting a real one which is typically the case. Same with the cars he's actually talking about but if you actually drive them they won't hold the value that well like the watch.

There really isn't that much of an appreciable difference between a fake one grand rolex and a real sixty thousand dollar one. The same can't really be said of fake exotics, save for antique ones.

1. Buy a nissan versa or Honda civic or some other cheapo car 2. Get custom lambo parts made of carbon fiber and bolt it to the cheapo. 3. Enjoy your sick looking car with the safety of an actual car for a fraction of the price 4. Enjoy your Nissan Diablo/Honda Countach/ Toyota Gallardo/ Mazda F1 LM/ Kia Bentley/ Datsun... Uhh... OK I'm out of supercar names. There's another lambo from midnight club 3 that I remember what it looks like but forget the name of. If you have the ability to bolt on a supercar body kit to an already safe vehicle, just do that. Owning a lambo to drive is kinda dumb. You'd never get out of 1st gear around town and you basically have a "kick me" sign on your back when going through speed traps. I raced a lambo on the interstate once. I had my gutless nissan screaming in pain and I could smell my tires getting hot so I had to bail. Then an officer zoomed passed me and got the lambo. I won the race bc lambo guy got busted. My transmission hates me and has been slipping. Maybe lambo guy won in the long run. Don't bring a nissan to a lambo fight.

I think their cool if you get an accurate kit because obviously there’s botch jobs but, what’s cool if it isn’t just thrown together and safety is a factor and you have a convincing body it’s cool because let’s say there’s an old Ferrari you wanna wide body obviously next to no one would do it to the real thing because it’s rare but you take an accurate copy and do it it’s cool personal preference
