I live in Rio Rico and I love how quiet it is and I've been all over the area, and i believe I have some of the best views Rio has to offer, that being said, doesn't matter what people want out there, I've lived in AZ most of my life and one thing I do know is more people are going to come out there, it's going to grow and there is nothing anyone can do about it, so might as well embrace some growth. the proposed commercial stuff down by the IGA I'm all for, there are more and more families w/ children moving in to get their kids out of the city, and it would be nice to have a business district down there w/ the proposed parks, restaurants etc. I mean having the one grocery store a small IGA and the about 4,5 restaurants: Subway, Wendy's, Little Ceasars and 2 little hometown restaurants are nice, but it's not enough for the nearly 20 thousand of us that already live in Rio. If we want to go "out" for dinner and a movie we have to drive quite a ways to do that. The IGA grocery store is nice, but it's very small and limited which means you have to either drive down to Nogales or up to Green valley to shop. I know a lot of people in Rio moved out there to get away from the city. And yes, the proposed changes could bring in more people, but the thing is, Houses are going up like crazy out there, they're coming either way. For those of us that already own a home out there, we're not going to be in "tract communities run by HOA's".

Im from Nogales Mx. Worked in Rio Rico for about a year. I came to love it. I had to leave though. As I realized that with the income I was getting was not gonna be enough for raising a family. In Mexico yea. But I wanted to stay on the US side. I tried so hard to stay and work but at the end I was forced to leave. Now I hope that progress does come along. So I can move there. I’m keeping hope for the Hermosa Mine to open. It will bring work. I have been gone for 8 years. I don’t want more years to go by. I don’t want to get there when I’m old or ready to retire. I want to raise my family there.
