Almost the whole main cast sued AMC before. Over profit sharing, and they lost. The contracts didn't specific what profit was.

You could be right about Kirkman killing Rick Grimes out of spite or just feeling "done" with TWD and AMC. I really hope we get some more insight as the reissues continue to come out

Im one of the ones that dont want TWD to end, so us talking about our favorite scenes means everything to me. This may sound corny, but Grand Theft Auto and TWD have been a staple for me so long, that anything else would seen out of the ordinary

@Henryhjggens maybe he did run out idead but i dont think so , cause if you read the comics , rick change the world , no enemies left.. so there isnt really much threats lefy

Kirkman spent his entire career so far writing those comics, meanwhile the TV show derailed everything I wrote. Ending the comics allowed him to move on.

I think in a few years, Kirkman will bring back The Walking Dead comic set in the far future. It could have Carl as a main character or new characters

Killed Rick because he was tired of AMC not paying him for his content and the show did suffer

Great insight! That’s interesting that CRM wasn’t in the comic. I hadn’t heard that. When I heard about how Rick was killed in comic, It did seems way to easy. You have Rick who has been to hell & back. He dies by simply being gunned down in cold blood by Sebastián. If Sebastian is portrayed in comic like he is in show, I do find that hard to believe. So, I can see Kirkman just doing that to end it. It’s really sad that things come to that. They differently did that for Game of thrones. I believe they did that for Ones who live too. They just tied everything up put big bow on it. Apparently it didn’t matter that it didn’t make sense. That’s cool that you are a musician. Well you’re in the right place for that living in Nashville.

Alot of leaders in history have been assassinated by people who are absolute zilches. I don't see it being far fetched that Rick was taken out by some weasel like Sebastian.

Note. Rick in comics not as badass as Rick in TV show. Comics Rick more of leader of the group. He lost his primary hand early and he heavily relies to survive on his family. TV show Rick straight up fighter that almost can never lose. Also its more realistic that even main character like Rick can die like this. Simple, by the hand of a weasel such as Seb.

For me it felt like the series was meant to end there. There wasnt much else Kirkman could do without it being lazy or lame. He maybe could of introduced villians like the reapers, or villians from Feartwd but those villians are all weak compared to the whisperers and Negan. I feel like the comics did everything a zombie apocalypse story could do and it was time to close the book. After all the crm is just a rehashed Commonwealth (not much a difference really) maybe the CRM is alittle bit better written. Or he could have done variant walkers but I think Kirkman knew that that wasnt the story he was telling. TWD isnt resident evil. Its just a good ol western inspired zombie apocalypse and he did it well, I think. The show on the other hand decided to create a bunch of random spinoffs too soon, take the main cast out of the show, and screw something up that shouldn't uave been screwed up. Sometimes bigger is not better. Spinoffs should have happened after the main show ended, not during the main show.

Plus they would probably have more money for the main show if they weren't wasting it on other spinoffs like feartwd.

@andrewvazquez1936 I disagree his death was fitting. He woke up at the end of the world and fell alseep when the world began a new. It all came full circle. I will say I liked the shows departure episode for Rick better though. So maybe if Robert Kirkman thought of that and instead let Rick die at the bridge then that would have worked better. Maybe he could of lead that big horde away from the commonwealth and died sacrifcing himself.

Kirman wanted to end the series when they got to Alexandre but he then decided not to.I seen this in a interview he done.

The show should have also killed off Rick, rather than dragging the fans on for years teasing us of ricks return only to do it in a measly rushed 6 episodes
