Why ROTTWEILER LICK You

I know a female Rottie named Eclipse. She is so sweet, but her owners leave her alone a lot, dont train her, dont take her for walks, or anything really. When I come over I walk her, and play with her, and train her. She is 2. When I walk up to the gate she immediately sits (I make her sit for almost all pleasures such as food, pets, toys, and entering or exiting places), and she licks my hand. She does know not to lick, but it's almost like she cant handle not giving the tiniest sweetest kisses to me. It makes me want to cry. I have been watching loads of videos, reading articles, and training myself before getting a rottie puppy of my own to train ♡

My male Rottweiler is so gentle when he licks me. It's very sweet. The female licks my hand every time that she walks by me , just a little boop from her tongue.

If you don't want your dog to ingest chemicals and such from the lotion on your skin.. Maybe you shouldn't have it on you either 🤷‍♂ With so many folks getting cancer we should rethink how we do things.

I conditioned my dogs to rub their head on me instead of licking. I simply told them no lick while pulling away and when they settle I will hug them against my leg or pet them with the back of my hand. I will also do forehead to forehead when they need more affection, but you have to be careful of thos with certain personalities. Them not licking is fine as long as you still let them find a way to show acceptable affection.
