Does China want to destroy Nepalese and Indian relationship? Yes. But why does Nepal want to go against India when India is more important to Nepal than China. Because we would rather die than let our land taken by others. Yes, the land is Nepalese land, and just because you send your troops and captured it and make a road doesn't make it yours. If a thief steals your money and buys a phone, will that phone be his? The land agreement was not even an agreement between the Indian government and the Nepalese government because India was controlled by the British. And as per the agreement between British(East India Company) and Nepalese after the war which was called 'sugauli treaty', the land belongs to Nepal. After that, there has been no agreement. So the proof is on the Nepalese side. The Indian government doesn't want to discuss and debate these issues because then some Indians will go and look at the facts and may go against their own government. They want to bring china because then Indian will blame china rather than looking at the facts and figures. Why would Nepal, such a small country go against India if facts aren't on our side? On this border dispute between Nepal and India, the Indian media has humdrumed China's name more than the two involved countries combined. Facts and figures are miles far from their expanse. Let me put forward some historic documents, some scientific approach and one of India's own textbook that defines and dictates the border dispute and confirms the original River Mahakali. Historical facts and figures 1. Sugauli Treaty between Nepal and East India Company on March 4th, 1816 and its continual part on December 8th of the same year. 2. The political map of Nepal released by India itself on 1857. 3. The treaty between India and Nepal to return the Naya Muluk (Kailali, Kanchanpur, Banke and Bardiya) on 1st November 1860. 4. Mapping of Duduwa area on 7th Jan 1875 by East India Company. 5. Tax paid on crop to the Nepal Government by the residents of Limpiyadhura in 1995. 6. Voters list of the residents during 1958 Nepal Election. 7. Inclusion of the population in 1961 census of Nepal. Scientific and Geographic Approach 1. The catchment area of the river originating from Limpiyadhura ( Nepal claimed Mahakali) is greater than the catchment area of the other river from Lipulekh ( India claimed Mahakali) which concludes that the main Mahakali originates from Limpiyadhura and the India acclaimed Mahakali is a mere tributary. 2. According to USGS river source is defined as "The most distant point (along watercourses from the river mouth) in the drainage basin or, alternatively, as the furthest point from which water could possibly flow naturally." Taking stand of this definition, the river originating from Limpiyadhura is the original source of river Mahakali. India's own text book According to the book entitled 'Almora: A gazetteer, Volume XXXV'' published in 1911 and still available in Indian Culture government website, it is clearly written I. page 4 that 'The Kali on the cast has its true source in the Kuthi-Yankti', Kuti Yankti being the river flowing from Limpiyadhura through Kuti village. The link to the Web page is: indianculture.gov.in/gazettes/almora-gazetteer-volume-xxxv-district-gazetteers-united-provinces-agra-and-oudh The government of Nepal is ready to hold meeting with the Indian side to settle the dispute while putting forward the documents and facts. While Indian side has always put forward the notion that Nepal is acting on behalf of China without providing any substantial evidence. This matter came to highlight after Indian Government built a road in Nepal whilst claiming that the road lies in India. But the fact is that India has been encroaching Nepali territory in various parts. Susta region, areas in Illam and Pasupatinagar and there are 62 other areas where India has encroached the Nepali land by transferring the border pillars (Junge Pillar) deep within Nepal. The previous government elected in Nepal were not a stable one and the interference of India in the internal politics of Nepal was upto extent that government needed Indian approval for the smooth operation otherwise the government would collapse. There were kakistocratic politicians who abnigated their self respect and bowed even in front of Indian ambassadors to be appointed as PMs and ministers. Such was the indulgence of India on internal matters. And this is the first time in history of Modern Nepal that a government is formed by 2/3 rd majority and is stable. The government might not have done its other jobs as the people had wished but this anchored decision on bringing back the lost land has been unanimously accepted by the Nepali citizen and the opposition party as well. So the long dominant nature of India is facing a hard end and the India has no other reasonable answer except to blame that Nepal is acting on behalf of China. India is refusing to back off its army troops from Lipulekh because its an important point for the Indian Army to monitor over the Chinese movement and an important passage for its pilgrimage to reach the Mount Kailash and Mansarover Lake. And as usual the Indian Government is using media to indoctrinate the Indian masses to deny them from truth and create pseudo nationalism.

I have huge respect for India. I have supported India in each and every step it has taken in recent history but its not acceptable if it took Nepal as granted. Remember Nepal was there before India. We have signed treaty with East India company during 1816 when there were 500 princely states in subcontinent. We have once conquered kumaun, garhwal, kangada in West and sikkim in East. So these are territories we lose with East India company during Anglo Nepal war. Our Western border in sugauli treaty is Mahakali river which originates from Limpiyadhura. So east of limpiyadhura belongs to Nepal including lipulekh and Kalapani. Sino India war of 1962 was the reason for Indian military presence in Kalapani because this place is strategically located. Our beloved King Mahendra gives permission temporarily to Govt. of India at that time so defeated soilders get some rest. Moreover civilians in that areas are Nepalese and all the proof including historical and present proves that India is encroaching Nepal slowly day by day. Same thing is happening in Susta. So I want to make clear that based on facts Limpiyadhura, lipulekh and Kalapani belongs to Nepal. Jay Nepal

Nepal has voiced this dispute several times in the past history, the indian administration probably has records of them. It hasnt just sparked out of nowhere, indias unilateral decision to build the route to mansarovar is what sparked this dispute to urgency for nepal. So please, be honest if you know how to.

Pratyush Kishore i am really sorry if you dont have the insights on this matter. And i am afraid to tell u, you are not a rational thinker if you claim maps prove boundaries all the time. Let me tell you something ur bombshell medias dont tell you, there are joint statements from the two countries that agree to talk and resolve the boundary issues of kalapani and susta, this proves that kalapani is recognized by india as disputed territory too. And then you unilaterally built the roads while nepal was on a political turmoil, and u ask y this issue was not raised. I guess, priorities it is. As far as releasing the new nepal map is concerned, and your claim as to this wasnt even an issue existent. I am a 30 yr old man, kalapani was within our primary school curriculum... so it was always there for nepal, the indian government just didnt let their people know of it...these issues were overshadowed by the long political transformation nepal was undertaking, first kings didnt wish to anger india, as india was capable and was carrying out espionage missions to topple the monarchy, then india helped maoists rise contributing to further turmoil leading to battles and deaths, then a democratic revolution, then the constitution drafting.... Now we have a legit government under the independent nepali constitution. You witnessed us go through these political transformation, and yet u ask y we didnt bother raising these territorial disputes.. do u see the context?? Now seems the right time for this. The only reference for demarcation of boundaries for india and nepal is sugauli treaty, last ratified in 1960. India, clearly undermined the nepalese sovereignty, occupying territories during its worst times....
@sheldonpaat7373
@sheldonpaat7373 4 жыл бұрын
vipkoli nepal was going through a political transformation until recently, nepal was not in the position to voice national agendas as internal conflicts were of more priority, but indian government in the past has accepted it as a disputed land, you can not unilaterally decide to build roads in a disputed territory... refer to treaties and facts please

It is time to rethink our ties with Nepal as China influence is clearly there and percolated to highest echelons of power. It is foolish on their part to think that China will somehow substitute India in terms of geographic favourable factor when it comes to supplies as China will never haul essential items such as fuel etc over Tibet with it formidable terrain for Nepal forever. Do you think Nepalese can go to China for employment as it does in India without the similarity of religion, culture, mindset etc ? It is time to banish all the Nepalese employed in India back to Nepal as we have more than enough youths struggling for jobs. Indian Gurkhas has long grievances that they are overlooked in favour of Nepalese Gurkhas for Gurkha regiment recruitments and Indian Gurkhas should be given priority and phase out Nepalese ones. Now there is an additional risk of Nepalese Gurkhas being Chinese agents. With the debts that is owned by Nepal to China that is piling up which will soon be insurmountable if not already, Nepal will find itself in as a vessel state of China or even worse the latest province of China. One only needs to go to Kathmandu how wide and deep Chinese has overtaken business in Nepal. Shut off any ration supplies to Nepal if Oli doesn't keep his verbal diarrhoea down.

No comments in other cases. Regarding Nepal it is the India who does not want to recognise the Sugauli treaty signed in 1816 and it's complementary treaty after 1857 sepoy mutiny. If India actually does not want to own the Sugauli treaty, then she should respect the 1950 treaty between newly independent India and Nepal. By recognising 1950 treaty India should leave from our Greater NEPAL's part between "Tista river in the east to Sutlaj/Sutluj river in the west". Then there will never be any dispute between the India and Nepal in the government level. In people's level we don't have any problem.

India has problems with each and every Neighbours regarding its territory. This happens when they think they are Superior to others, which is not. BECAUSE India wont be developing properly even in 50 years as they have lots of poverty and RICH-POOR Gaps. Hence, India always creates problem in their NEIGHBOURING Countries, so that Other Countries will have to struggle to become developed as other Neighbouring Countries has less population and are developing faster than INDIA and they are rich than average Indian. In case of Nepal, each and every Nepalese has their own land and house. So lots of Indians from BIHAR, UTTAR PRADESH, WEST BENGALS come in NEPAL comparing the numbers of NEPALESE GOING IN INDIA. There is no relation with China in this matter. This is a false accusation against Nepal. Indian Army had their 18 Army camps in NEPAL-CHINA Border before INDIA-CHINA WAR. In 1962 A.D when India China War was over, and India lost the war, Then Prime Minister of Nepal asked The Government of India to return its Army, but they did not left ONE CAMP of KALAPANI AREA. While Nepal had 1816 A.D. SUGAULI Treaty with BRITISH , NEPAL lost 2/3rd of its LAND and NEPAL's TERRITORY was from KALI (MAHAKALI) RIVER, which starts from LIMPIYADHURA. Hence, India occupied it after 1962 A.D when India lost WAR and it was a very strategical place to see the CHINESE Activities, SO Indian Army did not left the place and Now India is claiming it to be theirs, which is wrong. Otherwise why would Nepalese claim it against the large country India. There are more than 100's of places where BSF have destroyed our Border Pillars even in NEPAL-INDIA Border near BIHAR, UTTAR PRADESH and WEST BENGAL too. If you think India was ruled by BRITISH you should check and study the map of BRITISH when they did SUGAULI TREATY in 1816 A.D. Otherwise, just occupying other's territory and making false accusations and false statements, it won't be yours.

@@itzproben What I've seen with India and our own country is that both of us hide behind nationalism to mask our insecurity. Indians are insecure because the Muslims and British ruled over them for close to a millennium. Us Nepalis are also insecure because we're a small poor landlocked country surrounded by two giant vultures. China is the vastly bigger threat to Nepal, but since we've had far stronger interactions with India for the past 70 years or so, we are automatically more suspicious of India. As for Indians, they think we are beggars living on India's scraps (as if we don't buy their stuff and get everything for free). Consciously or unconsciously, they think we owe our existence to their "generosity" when the fact is that it is not charity but economics and politics that has always driven our transactions. They think that because we import most of our shit from their country, they own us and we must dance to their tunes all the time (obviously, because we're landlocked and surrounded on 3 sides by India, so who else are we going to import most of our shit from?). You can see it from the comments every time there is friction between India and Nepal. And this presents a dangerous problem. Nepali nationalism has given us a tunnel vision for seeing only India's fault (and India does have a LOT of faults). India's nationalism drives them to try to bully smaller nations to make up for the fact that they're a colonized nation in spite of their supposed great "Bharatiya sanskaar" or some other nonsense. Meanwhile the true global threat - China - is just watching and laughing as its southern neighbours tear each other apart.

When the PLC came into being back in 1949, it had border disputes with 16 countries, Now those disputes have reduced to just two, India and Bhutan. India on the other hand has a border dispute with literally every neighbour it has and it is not doing any sincere effort to resolve it but is rather increasing its defence budget to coup with the circumstances. These disputes has led India to wars in the past. Its in the best interest of everyone if India resolves these issues via dialogue, so that the massive defence budget goes to the welfare and development of the people rather than weapons etc

When you question why sudden Nepali activism is there after a long time then the question comes to me why indian had sudden activism against British Indian empire after two century. I am your regular follower mostly your insight on issues are more homeworked but in this case of Nepal it seems you copied the thought process of indian so called godi media. Just to clarify Nepal had strong opposition when India and China had treaty on lupilekh to build road to mansarovar. When you say Nepal has been instigate on this issue by china.I will strongly condemned your point of view. As matter fact that all the parties including opposition party of Nepal had passed the disicion to print nepals official map unanimously. You have present your view selectively in a favour of indian side , which I can understand why you did it. Matter of fact that India and Nepal had lots of talk on various border issue, everytime India has missing those dialogues. When India inagurate the road by army chief on other nations territory without consulting then the Sovereign country Nepal who has its brave legacy behind it wouldn't and will not evere hesitate to claim it's territory in any cost. If someone claims your house which you have given someone to use or preserve their livelihood and claims it's yours then it's natural the owner will oppose and claim. Here lupilekh,lampadhura and kalapani is given to India to use by Nepal during indo-china war . If India thinks it's big and can bullies it's small neighbouring country I would say India had surely understimate Nepal,Nepalese people and their history.

Deewash Shah let me point out the first thing where you mixed up things and went wrong. Indians pointing out about the atrocities committed by the colonial British is nothing compared to what's happening in Nepal. What happened in India was COLONIALISM and IMPERIALISM and that's much different from what's happening or as you as have happened in Nepal. India respects the sovereignty of Nepal and even has history of promoting the ideals of democracy to all its neighbours. Colonial and imperial British never recognised India as independent and sovereign. The famine, massacre, jailing of protesters, & committing other atrocities towards civilian are just to name a few. I don't remember India doing anything as such to Nepal. Neither India messes with the internal affairs of Nepal. However India and Nepal has developed a very close bond with each other over time and that bond will continue, not just on the borders but within the borders. Between governments and between the people of both the sovereign nation. Considering the special bonding India and Nepal shares it would be vague to analyse it from one side or with less of background and foreground knowledge. India has respected all it's neighbours sovereignty and will continue to do so but when things comes to it's own interest ofcourse it will side with itself. Remember "A nation cannot be built on charity" if Nepal feels threaten then it must take stands against it mighty neighbours, China and India. But I wonder about the hypocrisy the Nepalese PM portrays, Chinese envoy to Nepal taking part in the internal affairs of Nepal doesn't harms the integrity and sovereignty of the nation but India building roads on the territory that it controls definitely harms. Not even considering the ties that Nepal shares with India completely over shadows it's ties with communist China. Moreover the Nepalese PM on his clip mentioning the virus & to call it "Indian virus" is wrong. Why? I mean we can call it "Wuhan virus", "communist virus" , "CHINESE VIRUS" why not "Indian virus" because the actual strain and first recorded case, and what many in the world believes the place of orgin is CHINA and to be more specific WUHAN, CHINA. So calling it "Indian virus" is absolute ridiculousness...or maybe not. Maybe that's the way to inch closer to the CPP as many would say. I'm not diminishing the sovereignty of Nepal but pointing out the absolute ridiculousness and hypocrisy of the Nepalese government on this matter.

@@mn2810 Mr or Miss I'm sure you haven't heard Nepal opposing to Chinese over border issue it's all because of godi media didn't reported to you. For instance when India desperately wanted Chinese friendship, boycotting Nepal,signed Mansorvar treaty thinking they could ,indian, built road in other countries territory. At that time Nepal government strongly opposed and issued diplomatic note to both the countries. To add to your knowledge Chinese replied to negotiate the treaty but indian didn't care to respond. I'm sure your godi media didn't published as well, because that wasn't TRP propoganda. To make clear, indian virus said by Nepal pm which is marketed eloquently by godi media and godituber is TRP propoganda. Nepalese Pm meant corona trend from Wuhan or Italy is not same or similar as of Nepalese infected in India. Because virus has found to be mutated ,which raise concern to those migrants worker coming to Nepal. I'm pretty sure your godi media didn't explain well. Moral of the story :- what ever godi media create propaganda on Indian citizen, doesn't worry Nepalese, one thing is all Indian citizen should know that the Territory which is causing propaganda by godi media is Nepalese territory. It doesn't concern Nepal and Nepalese about what godi media including godi youtubers propoganda. Nepal will not back single steps when it comes to our sovereignty. We might be small but we know pretty well how to protect Nepal sovereignty from so called big guys India and China. At Last to all Indians:- Take it or Leave it, this godi media and godituber ,you should avoid listening them because they are dividing you Indians and India.

Let me tell you what i see in nepal. For long, people in nepal had only relastionship with indian. So any fallouts with foreign country that happend only happend with india. By that i mean only India has meddled in politicis and almost everyother things here in nepal. People here think they knows india. And they dont have good steriotypes of indians. Locally theres even racism agains biharis who have been working in nepal for very long time and there is even a slang word for them called "dhoti". And there are even conspiracy theories going on about india for a long time. And also, they have done unfair treatment to us many times. so these conspiracy are not unfounded. And with current boom in internet and social media . Free speech is like a bloodbath here . And misinformation is Uncontrolled and a Hudge problem as well. When ever something against india is circulated in social media.. it becomes viral because of nationalism. Me personally i think too much nationality is toxic because of people talk without having a proper knowledge of the matter. And we all know how internet is. Also politicians in nepal are very incompetence. Also if a politicans tries to do deals with india they will say . " India lai bechyo" meaning they are selling to india. So politicians try to make an image like " i will not knell before india and save". Otherwise i dont think they would gain any popularity. Because of issues like their border encroachment. And bad treaties. And India meddling in nepal which most people think has caused harm to nepal. Also india not reconizing of nepal as a country of its own for eg. Saying buddha was born in india also because of indian medias tantrum. Watching indian news is funny its that worse. Anti india sentiment have been going in nepal for ages. Its has gotten bigger now. Because of social media. And indian still thinks its china

Bro leave it. Most Indians are just as irrational and jingoistic as those of us who think that our khukuris and "Gorkhali bravery" can actually ward off India. It's sad and hilarious at the same time, seeing one side go "Mera Bharat Mahan" while the other side goes "Gorkhali ko choro ma". Both Indians and Nepalis brag about how "spiritual" their culture is, but they absolutely lack any sense of self-awareness or introspection. Ironic.

And as usual the Indian Government is using media to indoctrinate the Indian masses to deny them from truth and create pseudo nationalism.

sir huge fan of your works. we regard you as one of the genuine journalists from India. we Nepalese are are ashamed and sorry for those words by PM Oli. saying Indian virus is totally wrong and another one you didn't mention one making a remark on Satyameva Jayate and sher. honestly speaking more than half of the population of Nepal sees our pm as a joker, I repeat again joker he says whatever comes to mouth(communist trump).so the reason why he said that those words, people need to understand how he became PM of Nepal with the majority. during the post-2015 earthquake blockade by India, hatred towards India was at a peak. during those times KP Oli shouted a lot towards India and showed his stand. now, this border dispute there is lots of pressure from the public. and this dispute is not opened by china nor Nepal but by India itself. but now china and oli is benefiting from it. so from ground reality, I would like to share some information, so how this came all of a sudden. around 4 months ago after Kashmir was declared as union territory the Indian government released a new map of India. if you compared the old and new maps of India in the north-west point of the Nepal border you can see the change. this was done without consultation of Nepal, a number of the official letter sent to the Indian government but no response they say . and a few weeks ago during lockdown defense minister of India inaugurated the road/pass that links to Mansarovar and Kailash parvat in china. around 20-50 km(I'm not accurate on length) of the road lies is part of Nepal. Indian foreign spokesman said these issues will be discussed ASAP but the road is almost completed this was all done without informing Nepal. now that road which Nepal claims to be on Nepal side, now is on Indian territory from the new map.people of India will never realize or accept the fact that these disputed areas belong to Nepal. Indian spokesmen himself said this issue will be discussed and only sentence i disagree with you with is when you said:" it will never happen". let India and Nepal discuss this issue ASAP. what's yours is ours and what's ours is yours. ok, let's say when the dispute is over and Nepal gained that claimed terrorism, Nepalese won't mind if-then position Indian army camp because of geostrategic location. but encroaching border is not a right way, it hurt the feeling of the nation, and hate comments by our fellow brothers from both countries will gain nothing but unwanted violence.

Right.

China has border issues with every neighbouring country, so do you agree it is a rogue nation. Please understand that many nations have border issues. Last week Indian soldiers gave their Chinese counterparts black and blue because they entered our territory. And coming to Nepal new claim, you know India was constructing a road for many years in that place, were you sleeping then. You know you are now acting as a puppet in Chinese hands. Nepal and India have good relations for centuries but you are turning rouge now under your communist regime. Just see Srilanka and Maldives case. How China trapped them. I am eagerly waiting for your day of realization.
