Well yes, as a rule, Texans are very polite and generous people they are also very political. There is a pretty big split between conservative and liberal in Texas. I’m an independent but I gotta say there is no women’s choice in Texas, guns are everywhere and it’s extremely easy to get them and many like to wear them openly as they go about their day. Please don't associate Austin with the rest of Texas. Austin is not us. Don't hate on our mums!

When someone says to my cousins, "You're from Texas?". They say, "We're from Austin, an oasis in a desert of which shall not be spoken". I'm not from Texas, that's just what they say.

That's because Austin is a chunk of commifornia that got separated at some point.

Austin is very liberal part of Texas. I have some dear friends there lovely people. One of my friends had to move out of Texas for their safety because they are Jewish. That says all I need to know. They love Texas so much because it isn’t as liberal as the rest of the USA. The way Maga loves America but just a specific demographic and time period before we acknowledged other people of other races rights and humanity. The way their state government loves Texas so much they wouldn’t let them join the us power grid because there was a standard of repair and up keep to it. Now in Texas because they don’t have those standards people freeze to death in the winter because the power goes out and die in the heat in the summer because they can’t keep the power going. Because the money that was supposed to go to it went in the pockets of the people that run the place.

2 weeks of no electricity in freezing temps while my Senator skipped to Mexico. Womens rights. Outlaw gay marriage. This isn’t heaven. You have to question a place where a home’s welcome mat is a pic of a gun with “we don’t call 911” as the message.

You can like Texas all you want Joel. I'm originally from Maine but my husband was from Texas, The first time I was there my father in law was so prejudice it was completely disgusting!! You definitely don't want to be gay or black around a lot of them cause they will talk about you behind your back in a second!!! Plus they only care about themselves, All the shootings in the schools and they don't want to change any gun laws to make this country safer, They actually want the same school teachers to carry guns in school! They're friggin CRAZY!!!

Part of that absolute independence and pride, I believe, is because Texas has in their state constitution that they can become their own country whenever they want. And they probably could with no problem. Personally, I think we should all have that in our state constitutions. I've been to Texas, though we were just passing through. I'm from north central WV and was with my friend who had her early childhood in TX. Her main years were here in WV but she still held the TX pride (somewhat different from WV pride, but she had both) and is now somewhat out west again.
