Why Saquon Barkley begrudgingly accepts Nick Sirianni’s decision to rest

Nick is looking out for number 1 he knows if the eagles do bad in the playoffs he's history so he isn't taking any chances on a bounty being put on saquon by the giants same reason he was pulled against the cowgirls when he could've easily gotten 30 40 maybe more

Yeah that piece was good with Zach. Looking at the details of other RBs and their records is great to hear, glad Saquan is a thinker too. I also think what made frustrating on both sides was simplifying the argument to rushing title vs. SB. As if there were not other observations like go get both. Also frustrating how Siriani focused to get AH and Devonta their records during Devontae’s rookie year, but doesn’t here. Should have kept him in vs the cowboys so it would have been like 30-50 yards or so he needed.

Barkley also sat out against the Giants with the a solid ten mins left in the fourth quarter. Nick Pulled him before he broke his single game rushing record. Had Barkely played that game he might have the record already. It’s extremely disappointing. Should have let Barkley play a few series.

If Sirianni made the decision to play the starters and anyone got injured preventing them to play in the playoffs, even if Saquon broke the record, Monday morning the media narrative would be to fire Nick Sirianni for making the decision to play them. Let's not lie to ourselves, we know it would be all 97.5 and WIP would be talking about all week. Also let's not forget, the NFL is going to move to 18 games within the next couple years, the record is going to be broken soon. Hell even if Saquon broke it this year, his record would be broken within a few years. OJ set the record in 14 games, Dickerson broke it in 16, it will be broken in the 18 game season

It’s just crazy they would not let Barkley get that record. In my opinion it shows they have zero respect for Barkley. How would it even be a question to not let him play a few series. Josh Allen is playing right now. People could argue it’s more beneficial to let players play a few series rather than sitting the whole game out. A Super Bowl is not guaranteed but this record was against the Giants. As a football fan and I can’t think of a more disappointing decision.
