This is not a subject to change situation. Players discovered there was a points compression problem in cc. We have had it for a year, and if not for players, Boundless may have never even noticed the problem. However, make no mistake about it, not dropping points between seasons is not Boundless doing us a favor, no matter how much they try to paint it that way. This was a temporary solution until they could fix the problem that they created. This is one of those situations where I do not want comp. I want the actual problem fixed. And if they can’t fix the point system, the bare minimum they can do is fix us dropping points from last season. It is evident to me from their pitiful comp package that they do not understand or they do not care about the scope of this situation. The points drop is not something simply affects our rewards for a single week of the season. Essentially, this comp actually punishes players for Boundless incompetence. Their “solution” has to be something that addresses more than one week, preferably one in which they actually take responsibility for their depth of the problem that they created.

Issue is that unless they address the underlying points totals most people will never get back to Platinum or diamond again as CC points are decreasing season on season

I was literally 2 wins away from getting into platinum and now I am in gold 2. the compensation is okay, but like you mentioned, I am a few weeks away now from getting back to where i was and in his bracket you have to literally know your match ups and play just right or else you loose. I am very disappointed.

Hasn‘t it always been like that? On average I go 2-1 so I‘m climbing slowly but then after every season I lose more points than I made over the season. It‘s been impossible for me to climb despite having a winning record.

Keep caring and voicing yours and ours frustrations to the people that hear and respond to you. Complaining to no one and just out loud definitely won’t foster change and will be even more frustrating. However, I’ve found that managing expectations from that response is also just as important

I am fairly new to the game (only level 76 and have been playing like 3 months maybe) and while I’m fairly new I have to say this seems honestly pretty unfair for the players who have been around for a while and have worked into those ranks just to randomly drop down so much. Like the compensation will probably be considerably more useful for me (and those around or a bit lower) than those at the higher ranks but that compensation should be apart of them attempting to fix the problem (or admitting they can’t) and not as a band aid to be like “oh we know the problem here have this reward it should fix everything without needing to actually fix it”

So I’m thinking about this and trying to figure out: if this is some sort of unfixable bug, what is an appropriate compensation? It’s definitely not good that our ranks have arbitrarily changed, but if it’s something that scope is unable or unwilling to fix, what outcome would be “good”?

@@Boilon no I absolutely agree with you. One of my big takeaways from your video was that this seems like something they can’t fix. At that rate what’s the solution? Because I don’t think that one week of rewards makes everyone whole. I’m a low level crucible player so I will benefit disproportionately from this…

Pushing everyone down every season kills motivation. I was in diamond 2 seasons ago and now been stuck in platinum ever since and was almost making my way back there and now dropped 🤷

Been investing lots of resources into good crucible teams. Started this season to learn I dropped about 300 TR. Total gut punch. Why even try if I’m just gonna get dropped a few pegs for no reason?

Gave up on CC. The rewards dont match the effort required. Add in the fact that I get dropped almost 2 ranks I couldnt care less about a few diamond orbs or 7 red dupes per week I should say.

Here's what's crazy to me, after the drop and a round 1 lost, I'm at 1650 trophies.....the bare minimum for diamond 1.....I'm still rank 1515......so it looks like less than 1% of the players are in Diamond 1-3, Masters 1-3, and Grand Masters. Note: I say looks like bc 1465-1564 ALL have 1650 points

oh boy this is a screw up that i get to benefit from, i just hit lvl 60 and i also got an update for the 4 units that they gave away for free. i got kang, absorbing man, titania and moonstone. i think as soon as you get lvl 60 its the only way to get those characters for newcomers. Also its not your responsibility about their screw up about the ranks, they do need to fix this mess, if they want to make aments about this they should give you guys double rewards for this.

Good for some. It is good if you were in gold previously. You get diamond orbs you never usually get. If you were in platinum and dropped to gold - its just the orbs you were going to get this week anyway. Next week you get none unless they fix this mess. 6m gold is good but the CC currency is useless except to new players as there are no new characters in the store.

They can't or won't even fix matchmaking, that's what makes Cosmic Crucible a garbage mode since Day 1. Having to punch up 15-20M every match is ridiculous.
