I go to the University of Arizona and have watched damn near every snap T-Mac has played. I’m obviously biased here, but he’s far and away the best receiver in this draft. His frame, and especially his hands, are unreal. Would be an absolute difference-maker for the Pats offense the moment he takes the field, especially w Maye throwing to him. Needs to be talked about more as an option

It's so reminiscent of last year's 1st round pick, I saw a lot of people saying Maye wasn't the pick, he's thrash etc...pair Maye with Tet and I don't mind one more season of a subpar Oline, Tet is the pick

I like McConkey. he is having a solid rookie year! My concern is, would he have the same stats here? We have f'd up a lot of kids at this position, so we can't assume that a kid that looks good elsewhere would look good here. Brady covered up a lot of flaws! I seriously question this organizations ability to evaluate and develop this position. t

No he isn’t , he is getting way too much hype playing 2 positions. It was an amazing accomplishment in college but it doesn’t translate to the NFL if he plays both sides at that level he will have a three year career at best. He is playing only one side and it should be WR. He is not a shutdown corner and I think he would be a very good maybe great safety but there more money playing WR

Imagine Drake behind a great offensive line. The recievers would have that extra second to get open and they would look better. Drake could have the option of a decent running game and that extra time in the pocket to pick apart defenses.

Phil is awesome! He is usually on point in terms of seeing the big picture, and I love the fact that he is changing focus at this point in the season and already looking at a VERY important off-season for the Patriots. If we are all being honest, we are only continuing to watch to see Drake progress and to actively pray during each game that he he doesn't get hurt. This season was over weeks ago... the focus for me is now college football, and seeing who we should be looking at. I would also LOVE to see us take a look Cam Scatebo out of ASU as a RB2/3. He should still be available for Round 2 maybe even Round 3 becuase he is undersized... but the kid is awesome, both catching and running the ball. I am glad to hear the Lions comp as a suggestion, I have a potentially unpopular opinion… I feel the thoughts on the Pats are accurate but the solutions being suggested are wrong. They should try to mirror the Lions roster - meaning focus more on O-line, another stud running back, and defense - and if they can try another late round WR and add WR in free agency. Just throwing a great WR on this team is not a long term solution to making this team one that consistently competes for championships for a decade. They have a great RB. Defense has great pieces but could use help, O-line is atrocious and I think Drake proved we don’t need a bunch of stud receivers we just need guys that aren’t completely horrible. Building a strong o line, adding a second dynamic back, and building up the defense is a better short and long term fix to build a winning team. Thoughts?
@ericdavis8875
@ericdavis8875 Ай бұрын
I hear ya. They need a culture and the Lions forged a great one. The defense needs a rebuild and a Wiley coordinator. I like your running back philosophy, but it's the line that needs development here. They have so many holes though and are not dynamic I feel they need to stick to their scout rankings. But, not a good crop from the 3rd slot does this Renner guy want to come on board? Not seeing any momentum building for next year so it's likely more of this till mid October.
@cbyao3564
@cbyao3564 Ай бұрын
If you have a manageable LT like Lowe, but you have a good C, and a couple of good guards then draft a good RT in the later rounds, that's a workable line. If four of those guys are decent and only one needs help that's all they need and can scheme for this. You just can't have multiple weaknesses as we;ve seen this year and have your QB always have to worry every snap. No need to force your first pick on an LT, draft best player available and then in next few rounds draft one of the top RTs and then hope that Andrews, Strange, Onwenu can solidify the middle.

Hunter is clearly the choice... during Camp you have him working with both Offense and Defense. Clearly, we are drafting him as a WR1 ... but nothing wrong with having a number 1 pick as a back up CB in a pinch. How often is that ever an option?... its like a two for one. If he isn't there, it's either the OT from Texas, or the OT from LSU.

Draft Hunter. Anything else is a crime against humanity. Get a LT in free agency. They take years to get up to speed. Alt and Fuaga were the can't miss guys last year. Alt is a RT and looks so so this year. Fuaga can't get off the bench for the Jets. The frickin Jets. This years guys aren't as good as those two.

If he is not an elite Tackle then don’t take him at 2 that’s why your roster sucks now. Reaching for need . It doesn’t work

WE will not Draft a WR first. We dint have an OL or DEFENSE. Wr have enough talent to WIN at skill positions. Even tho there's no high end talent. Add a Higgins or any taller downfield guy we will be fine. POlK will DEVELOP as well

If you're drafting Travis Hunter to be a WR, you might as well draft T-Mac, who I think is the better pure WR. It's probably unrealistic Hunter will play both ways in the NFL. As for Campbell, while he may be a really good offensive lineman, it's looking likely that he may be a guard. You don't draft a guard with a top 5 pick. If you're looking for a left tackle, why no mention of Banks, who Field Yates has as his 6th rated prospect? Field has at least worked with the Patriots scouting department and has experience under Scott Pioli so I trust his opinion more than the average media guy.

Not a penalty for a QB sliding late, but yes a penalty for a QB fake sliding!

To me, McMillan if he is availible is the obvious choice. I would rather have a real no 1 on a rookie deal than a left tackle.
Where do Mike Vrabel and Drake Maye fit in NFL’s coach-QB pecking order?
