You know, a Rock vs HBK feud could have worked in the 90's had he not been a dick to him back then. Then again, he was out with a back injury for 4 years & when HBK returned, Rock was leaving for Hollywood. What could have been.
@jamesthegr8732 Жыл бұрын
HBK vs Rock would of been awesome, as far as the "career ending injury" I find it sus, especially since he knew Austin was being pushed to the moon. He supposedly had a back career ending injury , yet he kipping up and he bouncing around like nothing happened. Once The Rock is transitioning to Hollywood, and Austin is on his way out, while his buddy HHH get the big push " he found the lord" and "hey what do you know the back injury is gone" he back in a safe spot.

Simple villain origin stories can come a long way like with Punk & Regal but Max isn’t without his faults. Admittedly a lot of his promos are repetitive to get cheap heat: - Insult city by using cliché terms like “virgin” & “mother’s basement” - Say the women there are fat & ugly - Talk about being a generational talent - ADD-riddled Jew boy - Mention WWE, HHH, & Nick Khan - Bidding war of 2024

Wrestlemania XII. Shawn beats Bret in one of the finest Wrestlemania matches of all time; an iron man match beautifully orchestrated by both men the week prior. Afterwards, Bret is lying in the ring selling his exhaustion (because he just wrestled for OVER AN HOUR.) Shawn turned to referee Hebner and says, "get him out of my fucking ring." Hebner tells Bret to move. Bret wrote about it in his book an confronted him about it on the Greatest Rivalries DVD.

To be fair, the chances for a Shawn Michaels vs The Rock match were very low, regardless if Rock was willing to forgive and work with Michaels. By the time Shawn Michaels came back to the WWE in 2002, The Rock was appearing less and was in a feud with Brock Lesnar until Summerslam. By 2003, he came back to feud with Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin one last time before ending his time with the company by taking on Goldberg at Blacklash. During this time, Shawn was having feuds with Chris Jericho and Triple H. The Rock would came back for WrestleMania 20 in 2004 but that was the last we would see of him until his return in 2011, close to year after Shawn Michaels retired.

So that's why we've never seen Shawn vs. Rock. But I don't know it is kind of hard because I know he definitely wasn't the only one acting like that backstage. But when you think about it, the clique kind of ultimately got their way with dx.
