Oliver and Company was one of my favorite cartoon movies when I was a little kid. I watched the VHS tape so often with my sister that it got worn out and I wasn't able to watch it for about ten years. I didn't realize that it was Billy Joel's voice until I watched it again last year. What a great realization. =) Two favorites together in one.

Robin Williams and 1992's "Aladdin" often gets credit for changing the face of Disney animated movies by having a big name in the central role instead of a regular voice actor, and it should get some mad props! And, a lot of people forget this little gem from 1988, Oliver & Co., with Billy Joel, a mega-star in his own right by 1988, who gave the music in the tried-and-true animated Disney musical a radical face-lift!

I actually saw this movie nearly 30 years ago 3 times in theaters when i lived in Omaha at age 6 like after Thanksgiving, before Christmas and after New Year's day and had merchandise like 2 t-shirts, coloring books, readalong with cassette, junior novel, CD soundtrack for Christmas (my first CD), Mug and stuffed Oliver. This is one of my favorite Disney animated movies for a long time and one of my fave Joel songs ever.
