He’s definitely one of the best ever. Slash and Dimebag are the two finest exponents of the guitar i’ve ever heard. It’s not how fast they can play scales, it’s what of themselves they put into playing, you can hear their very souls communicating through their playing. AWESOME!!!❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

The primary purpose of an artist is to somehow connect at an emotional, probably spiritual level with his audience…you can be a virtuoso, a technical wizard and not achieve that ever….Slash does, and he has great phrasing, every solo of guns n roses has great phrasing, elevates the song and touches people. Now, there are technical wizards that have achieved this, Jason Becker was one. Anyway, Slash gets shit thrown at him by guitar nerds everyday, I dont think he gives a damn, an incredible player, and above that, a great artist

Slash has the greatest vibrato on the planet. Nobody was doing that in the 80s like him. I remember hearing sweet child of mine guitar solo when it fi came out . One of the few mom I knew music was changing and could actually put my finger on it.

I liked the first part. Decent blues. It got a bit mushy when the band kicked in. Slash has come up with some of the most iconic riffs in rock music. No doubting his talent there. I think this would have been better if it were shorter so that he could take it to it's peak and come down quick. Not ride up there and stay there for 5 minutes straight. That got kinda old.

Lots of comments on “no, Slash is not an all time guitarist”. It’s such a boring, ridiculous argument. I didn’t even listen to most of this video, started boring. Yes, there are a zillion more technically skilled guitarists, don’t bother to list your guitar geek list, I know it. What he is, is an all time musician. An artist, not a mathematician. He creates sounds that invoke feelings, and experiences, and relatability, that very very few ever have. That’s what puts him in rarified air. And you’ll hear the same statement from real musicians the world over. Arguing against Slash as an all timer is the domain of hipster guitar geeks, and they eventually come around. Don’t lose the forest for the trees.

Being the best guitar player is one of the most subjective things ever. Everyone has different tastes. Although I do agree with most of what you say... The one thing you can't take away from the guy, is that he uses the instrument for what it was intended for, to convey what he feels.... That's the reason I appreciate his playing...
