A galaxy like that with a diameter of 120,000 lightyears and with 400 billion moons + planets, stars and other forms of celestial bodies combined = would make it an extremely hard place for the clones + empire, Vader and Sidious to find all the remaining Jedi over the next 20 plus years... like finding a needle in an ocean the size of the Pacific one = which is also metal detector proof as well. Now try to imagine finding a hundred needles within a haystack the size of that whole galaxy, with your bare hands... even with the empire's resources and huge forces of tens of trillions of personnel and soldiers = it would be next to impossible to get them all in the end.

Even if they survive order 66, they didn't survive the purge. Many Jedi were unable to survive outside the order. Thanks to the grand plan and their own arrogance, most average Jedi Knights had no attachments beyond what was lost. Despite their claims of being humble, they were used to having near unlimited resources, and didn't know how to live outside of the system that had trained them. In legends, several Jedi, who couldn't survive outside of the order system, decided to commit suicide by clone, drawing their weapons, and fighting until they were finally cut down.
@Rcampo424 жыл бұрын
Aaahhhh if only they didn’t forbid attachments or allow Jedi to have families and don’t give a crud of the senate they could’ve been more self efficient
@JediMasterZim3 жыл бұрын
I think the fact that the average Jedi was unable to survive outside the Jedi Order, to not be able to live outside the system, was on purpose (and with all due respect, I don't think it was due to the Sith's Grand Plan or the arrogance of average Jedi, but rather the leadership of the Order itself). I believe this was an intentional design by the leadership of the Jedi Order, namely the Jedi High Council of Coruscant, to keep their subordinates attached to the Jedi Order that they led and be dependent upon it...and by extension, be attached and dependent upon that same leadership, namely the Jedi High Council. Think about it: if the average Jedi could be self-sufficient and live outside of the Jedi Order...why put up with the strict limitations (some of them arguably being inhumane and violations of sentient rights like not being allowed to fall in love, get married and have children and be in contact with their families) that are placed upon them? Why put up with the dictates of the Jedi Council, why listen to what they have to say and do as they order? If the average Jedi could just up and leave and survive outside the Order, then why not do so and live a far freer life? Why would the average Jedi take the decisions of and threats of expulsion by the Jedi Council seriously, what would stop them from telling the Council to effectively shove it? If you think about it, that's why the threat of expulsion from the Order is considered such a threat to the average Jedi, because they can't survive outside the Order, or at the very least not well since they were not set up to be able to do that. Hell, Anakin Skywalker was, in part, prevented from jumping off that LAAT/i and ditching chasing after Count Dooku in Attack of the Clones specifically because of that threat as presented by Obi-wan. If the average Jedi could survive outside the Order, at least decently, then why would the threat of expulsion mean much to them beyond the sentimental, perhaps? If individual Jedi were self-sufficient, then would we not see plenty of Jedi just shrug off expulsion, or even decide to leave on their own for greener pastures? It's the fact that individual Jedi are not given the education and training to survive outside of the Jedi Order, or otherwise get the opportunity to become able to be self-sufficient, that gives the punishment/threat of expulsion its teeth. By that same token, that is what primarily gives the Jedi Council, which is a totally undemocratic, non-elected body that self-appoints itself, its power over their own fellow Jedi. For the vast, overwhelming supermajority of Jedi, expulsion is a kind of indirect death sentence of sorts, for them it's living death, and to most leaving the Order on their own would-by that same token-be akin to a sort of suicide. For a lot of surviving Jedi, as you just described by the end with "suicide by clone", in the eyes of those surviving Jedi they, as far as they themselves were concerned, were already dead because the Order they were designed from infancy (or in some rare cases very early childhood/age four or five or such biological equivalent) to be dependent upon was gone. The Jedi Order's leadership wanted to be able to control its members, to get the subordinate Jedi to do what they wanted. Given the Jedi Order's leadership weren't exactly generally willing to go executing their fellow Jedi (unless you count killing those who "fell to the dark side" or were believed to have done so, or the really out there examples like the Padawan Massacre of Taris from Star Wars Legends), the Council needed something...different to obtain compliance. The Jedi Council and those loyal within the Order did not want the average Jedi to have agency, at least not beyond the bare minimum needed to do their jobs. The Jedi Council did not want its members to be able to be self-sufficient and be able to survive (at least well) outside the Order, because that would undermine the very source of their authority and power within the Order and over its members. It makes sense too, because then they very well could have had Jedi Schism after Jedi Schism (though not necessary from large numbers going Sith), if not fallen apart completely long, long before Palpatine or even his millennia-old version of the Sith ever came along. In short: Yeah, I basically agree with what you said, @Kevin Hansen, I think you bring up very valid points as a whole.

If you go by the old pre-Disney Star Wars Legend lore, considering that the population has proven ungrateful to the Jedi and turned on them on more than one occasion (both before and after the Great Jedi Purge), and considering the Republic has thrown them under the metaphorical bus or abandoned them on more than one occasion, it actually makes sense that at least some Jedi would be weary of that possibility happening again even if the vast, overwhelming super-majority of Jedi were gullible, overly-trusting fools, at least where the Republic is concerned.
