They can't because they would doubt their faith if they did. They know their religion is bullshit, but they are afraid of the WHAT IF...! and thus believe and have faith. If I'm so self absorbed that I would damn myself to an eternity of suffering just to avoid worshiping Allah then why would I let a government control me? Salam alaykum brother.. I am an ex muslim and became an atheist for 9 years now… I can confirm with you that what you THINK the reason we atheist reject islam is FALSE.. at least for myself… You are saying its because atheist REFUSE TO SUBMIT TO A HIGHER POWER… Needs to give up; seeing ourselves as a God that created our own reality. And because we do not want to give up certain desires… I still remember the day that I realise that I cannot anymore believe in Islam. I was heartbroken, because my intention was to increase my faith and to face the challenges of scrutiny from the kufars.. But as i found more and more flaws in islam. I couldnt believe it anymore and I literally cried out of sadness.. Because I devoted my life to islam and i loved Allah and Muhammad.. I prayed that night, to God, if Islam is false please show me where you are. which religion is true. I only wanted God. It felt like someone in my family just died. I didnt become an atheist overnight.. First it was islam, then i rejected theism and became a deist… and after many years ive made peace with myself and accepted i dont believe in any Gods from any religion therefore i am an atheist. (it does not mean i reject God.. its just im not convinced by any) I did got into depression, because of losing my faith, being in the closet about it, and fell into an existential crisis.. But as years passed, doing a lot of reading. philosophy, understanding reality and science. Focusing on being a good human being. I fell i am fulfilled like i used to back when i was still devoted to Allah. u think we dont accept islam because we want to sin?? brother pls. stop being judgemental.. I dont drink alcohol regularly.. only sometimes. maybe once in 2 years? i recently stopped smoking. i dont do drugs. Im married and i dont cheat.. i dont do anything immoral.. i do charity.. i donate to the UNHCR, Kidney and Cancer foundation every month. Tell me again how i dont want to accept islam because i dont want to be restricted? oh i do eat pork. but is that the main reason? lol no. i only ate pork after i stopped believing in islam. and the first bite was very difficult because of the lifetime indoctrination. I feel disgusted as i swallowed my first pork. but i didnt leave islam just because i wanted to eat pork. i have no problem submitting to God’s will.. i used to pray 5 times a day. The problem is i am not convinced now. I can submit if its true. So stop assuming and talk to us. 😊

Interestingly, while you missed the primary barrier for me to become a religious believer, which is me not seeing sufficiently convincing reasons to move away from my atheistic understanding of reality, you did get remarkably close to my secondary barrier. I do indeed refuse to unquestioningly submit to a higher authority due to me considering everyone of equal value, no matter their experience or power, and while I don't consider myself my own god, I have figured out that everyone is omnipotent within their own mindscape. In effect, while inapplicable to physical reality, I do know how omnipotence and omniscience work and feel like, cast one narrative layer down (meaning like an author and the contents of their writing). As a result, worship is permanently out the window unless it definitively serves some vital function like maintaining the deity's existence, indirectly maintaining the universe; and any ruleset set by an omnipotent creator that is at odds with just practical morality, which I am operating on currently, would be the topic of a calm chat with said creator, which shouldn't be an impossible ask by virtue of omnipotence being a thing they have. Technically, both of my barriers could be removed by whatever omnipotent deity there may be sitting down for a chat with me, but considering the distinct lack of such an event having occurred so far, it seems highly unlikely that whoever may or may not be at the helm of this reality is humble enough to even directly engage with just any random person and/or lacking actual omnipotence and/or omniscience to pick up on and follow up on one person's want for a chat. The former possibility puts me immediately at odds with what their ideas of right and wrong may be, while the latter is actually part of the foundation for reality to be a fascinating tragedy, where there may be a creator trying to make everything go right, but not having the capabilities to take action as much and as well as would be necessary, to the point that their very existence is a topic of debate.

As an atheist I can assure u the thought "I know God is real, but maaan I really like to sin" never entered my mind. That's preposterous. Sounds like you are projecting. If you fail to find meaning without the belief in a god, or a sense of morality which btw no religion has established that their doctrine established rules are objectively moral than that of any other religion or non-religion out of the many faiths that you have subjectively decided the one you chose is the basis of morality. Simply beliving the words you read are inspried by a god does not make them objectively moral. If you cannot be a decent human being without the beilef in a god or finding meaning and purpose then that has absolutely nothing at all to do with atheism. That is simply a "you" problem" Your emotional need for a god does not suddenly produce one. I am one who is convinced that if a god exists you wouldn't have to look for signs one exists, listen to other people tell you that there exists a god and that they can speak on ones behalf that you are supposed to believe have no interest in controlling you, nor have to try and prove one exists if one really wanted you to know of his, her, it's existence. A god that would be willing to reveal his words through a book but not himself? That seems like a pretty obvious one not to fall for to me. Not even once has this physical reality even shown that what theists are talking is even possible to even cite it as a candidate explaination for anything. Because "I don't know must be magic" I find in no way compelling enough to believe in a god

When I was a young boy. My parents used a baby sitting service with the local church we went too. After they left me there. I walked up to the woman who ran the program. I politely asked her like any small child would act, "Is there really a god?" She was shocked and said, "DON'T EVER ASK THAT QUESTION!" She walked away and we never really saw her till she came with Mcdonalds. Then again when a priest explained to her in front of me that everyone walks their own path. Does that mean, Allah is right and Yahweh is wrong? No, why is that? Well lets talk about actual logic. You both claim to be of the same religion. That Islam is just the newest version of the Jewish thing. Yet all three groups have a different name for god. That is just the start of why I do not believe in any type of religion. Ok so I'm an atheist. My primary reasons for not believing is that there is no good evidence for God and that the writing which the faith is based on is unreliable in sooooo many ways. You don't want those answers though. Ok so now ignoring those factors and simply assuming that God does exist and that the Quarn is "from God" as you say. I still would not become a Muslim... or a christian... or join any Abrahimic religion. All questions of whether they are true aside if the Gods they present were real then they would be monsters and I would do everything in my power to defy them. I have read the Bible and the Quran and they do not describe a loving caring God to me. They present a God which wishes to be seen as such but in reality due to the actions he partakes is a cold hearted monster who cares only for himself and those who worship him. He appears as a cosmic dictator of such scale that it's hard to believe that anyone can believe the BS loving, caring crap. Unfortunately this leaves you in a pretty awkward place. If you take away my actual answers for non belief and you want to force me to believe then you leave me with only one choice which is to oppose you. I don't want that. I'd much rather just be allowed to stick by my primary answers and not believe because there's no evidence. I'm fine with you believing whatever you want to believe in your own time as long as you don't try to force it on everyone else and in turn I won't try and force you not to believe as I do.

Everyone with exactly the same behaviour, exactly the same worldview, exactly the same beliefs? Don't you think the world will be a boring place if everyone converted to Islam? So isn't it good to let people be exposed to different ideas, choose what they wanna believe and stop crying like a literal baby?
