I love your videos because you don't pretend to be an expert, but you actually have a lot of valuable practical experience. You show us grafting newbies how to go about grafting and what pitfalls to watch out for. I am quite sure that I will be able to avoid some of the common mistakes because I have watched your videos. No doubt some of my attempts will fail, but I think not as many had I not watched your channel. Oh, and you are also a personable, likeable guy. That doesn't hurt, either.

I’ve found that using a small plastic bag tied over the grafted section has really helped my success rate. It probably has something to do with me grafting in the tropics where it is really humid.
@AJTheGraftMan2 жыл бұрын
So many folks have told me to do the plastic bag thing, so I will try it soon
@aaronevans52092 жыл бұрын
I use the plastic bags found in the party section of CVS. You get 25 of them and they come with twist ties.
@Vivalaraza1994 Жыл бұрын
When would you take the plastic bag off? I've got a mango scion that's pushed out new growth and the leaves are super small but have grown maybe 1cm each day.

Have you Try grafting without wraping tape on the whole scion.?

No but I’ve seen it done in a controlled greenhouse with high humidity and high heat

Hey aj, thank you for posting all your informative videos, I really enjoy them. Can you recommend please recommend a good grafting tape? I'm not sure if you have lately. the ones in your older videos are sold out. thanks!

Thanks for watching my channel 👍🏽 Google parafilm grafting tape. That’s what I use. A lot of places are sold out. Seems like grafting is getting more popular. If you do some digging on google you’ll find some available. Good luck.

Thanks for this! What percentage success do you have (in general)? When I started out I was in the 60% range. Now up to 75 - 80%. Hoping for 90% by next year🤞
@AJTheGraftMan2 жыл бұрын
Hard to say. Depends on so many factors like time of year, type of fruit tree I’m grafting, etc.

Hello, nice job and thanks for your videos,i am french , i live in south of france so weather hot and dry,i have a question, i did 2 avocado grafts, turn well, leaf starts growing, i change the pot, i put the pot outside when i was not cold at night,and then stop growing, leafs fall, and branches startS becoming dry and Black! What did i do wrong? If you have an idea ! ! Thank you
@AJTheGraftMan Жыл бұрын
Sometimes when you change the pot, it can stress the tree and the graft can die. Also the type of soil you use is important
