Yes, some small banks were bought out, but no one has been asking for a bailout recently. That myth comes from back in 2008 when some big players asked Congress for a loan and were immediately denied (the real scandal was the execs negotiating the bailout flew to Washington in private jets while struggling to make payroll).

The money must be used in the company, for salaries, equipment, production site rent, and research and development. The Fed lowered rates by 75 basis points last year and they are saying rates are going up?! Yes they are up since Covid but they were low because of desperation to stimulate the economy. My community bank is on Cardano: I can store my volatile and stable assets on-chain. I can lend them out and earn real yield on the interest borrowers pay the protocol. I get utility and a secure eco-system of growing fintech apps. I guess I am an early adopter of decentralization. It will continue to evolve and I believe soon, the problems of storing value using centralized rails will be a thing of the past ( atleast for the retail user ).

it's very simple. just because fractional reserve banking says you can keep as low 10% in cash, doesn't mean you have to. if CEOs were smart, they would keep more than that in reserves. if I were running a bank, and had less than 30% that would keep me up at night.

Thats all i meant. im pointing out that banks are NOT failing due to anything related to customers of the bank, they are failing because they overleveraged their assets gambling the markets, and made bad investments, with their customers money.

All my bank accounts are always within its limits where i can keep them for free and its credit card which gives me a 2% cash back every month for all expenses i make there and paid back everything back every month… i get cash back of about $100 every month! How the hell a bank can remain a business if all clients were as disciplined as me?
