After 06 I stopped playing Sonic. Until Frontiers. I actually enjoyed Frontiers. The first boss fight with that music gave me chills. It brought me back. The story was pretty good too.

I would recommend using the original japanese stories of the games and not english ones i understand you maybe dont know japanese and that is why you dont use them but windii has translated lot of the japanese cutscenes. (unfortunately most of her videos were deleted but there are some repost i have made a playlist of most of the reposts.) but other than that good video. There are also a few retranslated mods you can use. And the voice acting is just way better.

Great video! Adventure 2 is my favorite Sonic game! It really feels like an early 2000s action flick, and thats one of the highlights for me. It’s a game I never played in my childhood, yet makes me very nostalgic as someone who grew up in the 2000s. Heroes was the first Sonic game I played. I loved it as a kid, but always made me wanting more, and Adventure 2 fills that gap perfectly. I just wish Sonic Team made Adventure 3 as an adaptation of the Metarex Saga. Also I noticed the Megaranger theme playing in the background. I'm a Sentai fan too! 😅

I really enjoyed Shadow's character arc in SA2. At the beginning of the game, he's practically best friends and a pet to Dr. Robotnik. The 2 of them are like 2 peas in a pod, and I can't get over the absurdity of a big, ugly mad scientist and an adorable, angry hedgehog wreaking havoc on the world together while Sonic has to clean up their mess. However, by the end of the game, Shadow not only abandons his loyalty to Dr. Robotnik, but also becomes a sort of friend to Sonic by the end of the game. SA2 has the best portrayal of Shadow in the entire series, although Sonic Battle comes in a close 2nd place. Unfortunately, outside of SA2 and Sonic Battle, Shadow would never get a character arc this satisfying again. He gets amnesia after bashing his head against the ground from falling from space, thereby undoing any of the development he went through in SA2. He turned into a "I'm better than you, Sonic, and I'm a cool, dumb jerk who wants revenge on the world" type of character throughout Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog. In Sonic 2006, he's working as a secret agent for the same government that murdered his caretaker, Maria, and he has a major beef with some demon that resembles a carbon copy of him. In short, I don't even know WTF he was in Sonic 2006. Now, Shadow is arguably the 2nd most important character to Sonic. Had Sonic Team wiped Shadow out of the series after SA2, I don't know how the Sonic series would've progressed without him. Sonic is the protagonist of the series, of course, but Shadow's his co-star. Technically, Tails is Sonic's co-star, but it's really Shadow. Look at how much bloody fan art and fan fiction starring Shadow are out there floating across the internet. That dude became so popular that he more or less dictated how the series would continue, and, by this point, he's been in Sonic the Hedgehog games for almost 80% of the series' existence. Silver, Blaze, Infinite, etc never appealed to players the way Shadow did. Even Metal Sonic was eclipsed by him. But, at the end of the day, I could see that Sega really didn't know how to write Shadow after SA2's ending. With all that said, I hope the 3rd Sonic the Hedgehog movie does an even better job than SA2 & Sonic Battle did at portraying Shadow, especially given that Keanu Reeves is playing Shadow's voice. A movie in which the dude from The Matrix and Speed plays a cartoon hedgehog is a movie I can't miss.

Sonic adventure 2 is peak 😎😎😎 I feel like if 06 got more time to cook and take away the Elise and sonic ship it would’ve surpassed adventure 2 because the story and tension was great!

Someone once said that Metal Sonic is the best rival for Sonic. But i don’t think that. I think Shadow is the best rival of the series. Shadow stands in opposition to Sonic in every way. Even in Sonic 06 where he went full ally and hero, as Sonic was fighting for freedom, Shadow opted to become a government secret agent and fight for order.

@@christscrackers647 and i got one more thing, why do you categorise sa and sa2 as “adventure games” while they are extremely different in gameplay and story, sa1 is my favourite, but it is not in the top 5 sonic stories. I don’t know if you know but, “Adventure Games” is referred to (SA, SA2, Heroes, Shadow & 06)
