I have seen 5 of the 6 Sonic shows, and Boom is definitely my favorite! The meta humor, the cast getting to show off their range, it's all great. The fact the characters are out of character kind of makes it refreshing. Like, I love Sonic's easy going cheerful side, but him just being so done with most things is hilarious too. Sometimes the jokes even got too real, like when Eggman said shipping and handling is how they get you. Even to this day, the voice cast love talking about this show. It may not have been well received in the beginning, but it's super popular now. Thank you for sharing the love.

Boom is easily my favorite Sonic show and easily one of my all-time favorite shows. The fourth wall and meta jokes are hysterical, but I also love the other jokes. The characters, writing, and world all blended so well to create a humorous masterpiece. It also has my favorite and second favorite versions of many characters.

Sonic Boom has been my favorite Sonic show since I watched the first episode, but I think the reason for that is definitely my personality type. I enjoy laughing and making jokes, so hey, an entire Sonic show where the purpose is to make jokes and make the audience laugh? How perfect!

Sonic Boom is my favorite Sonic cartoon through and through. It inspired my OC and has my favorite ship across the whole franchise. Boom Knuckles is underrated and Boom Sonamy got me to love Sonamy in general. Plus it’s got some of the rawest humor out of any Sonic show. Every episode has a meme (like AoSth). Also screw it! I like Boom Knuckles being dumb! Edit: And the Roger joke had me splitting. 😂

The video "Sonic Boom out of context" made me appreciate this show all on its own. To be fair, I was a teenager when I first watched this show and I appreciated it for the comedy, but I never realized how clever it could be. Or maybe it's just that the french translation couldn't translate all the more complex and clever jokes well. I don't really remember. One of my favorite jokes is the gang travelling to a cold area, and during the travel, Tails is writing down his thoughts, saying "The cold is unbearable. For the first in my life, I actually considered wearing pants. Desperate times, indeed..." Of course there are other very funny jokes, like Knuckles being a feminist, or the Sonic fanboy kidnapping Sonic and reading him his fanfics, with him implying to having not family-friendly ones and Sonic noticing one titled "Sonamy". Oh also Knuckles telling Sonic "I thought your middle name was The" because Sonic The Hedgehog. Genius joke.

I wasn't following Sonic very closely back when this show came out. I knew the Boom games were a thing, but I didn't know how disastrous they were. I just decided to watch the show and got a real kick out of it. Then rewatching it last year with the knowledge that it was poking fun at its own franchise made me appreciate it even more. X and Prime may be more of what I want in Sonic shows in concept, but I feel Boom does a better job of excelling at what it's trying to be.

I never watched sonic boom when it came out, it was only a couple years ago that I did, I didn’t know anything about sonic but I loved the show! Obviously it has its faults and it’s definitely not emotional like some other sonic media is, but I still absolutely love it! And going back knowing everything about sonic makes it even more fun to watch! I’m glad it’s starting to get the recognition it deserves!!

I like Sonic boom, second season was great showing the writing kept getting better which makes it a sin we never got a third season, like another Sonic cartoon I loved which was cursed the same way. I hated boom as well back in the day, I guess a lot of the hate came from the fact in 2015 this was all the Sonic franchise had which scared people into thinking Boom was going to replace the Sonic we all knew and loved with that tone of writing becoming the new standard going forward. Now in the present day people have had a second try of boom and grown to enjoy it for what it was.

I wasn't really a hater of the serie nor of the games of the Sonic Boom brand, for two reasons, one I was younger at that time so all I saw was hate without knowing anything, and two, my conecction with the Sonic franchise in general was ok, like yeah I played some of the games and saw multiples youtube classics like the Nazo Unleashed animation trilogy and the Sonic shorts, but It wasn't as close as I'm today. I love this franchise with the heart and because of that I can't really hate Sonic Boom, yeah I will be the first to say that it isn't perfect, nor does it have the better Sonic characterization. I don't really care, these desings and characters are cool as hell for something like a Spin off that doesn' belong in the canon of the serie, and I really belive that the Boom franchise could've work, if SEGA wasn't so SEGA and provided people with actual comunication.

although the angle which you analyzed boom is interesting, it's not the show's entire identity. there are totally jokes about sonic's history and jabs at the fanbase (i am quite surprised you didn't bring up Mark the Tapir at all), the comedy is much more varied than just being a parody. there's its meta humor, its dry humor, and the amazing voice cast which never flunked a line delivery.

I did not like Sonic Boom because it seemed like another cynically made product that was self-aware that it was cynically made, which I was honestly sick of with how prevalent this tone was in the cartoon network broadcasting lineup. I mean, the cynicism was so everywhere during this that I wanted a Sonic story that took itself seriously, and unfortunately, I got a parody that said some stuff I was no longer in the right headspace to think about. I was in a bit of a mood around the time when Cartoon Network was airing shows because of school, I did not like the American culture that was developing around me. I missed the other properties where people were at the very least receptive to wanting to talk things out honestly and productively. Overall, it was a case of "I get why the jokes that are being made here are being made, but I still do not like it because I've already heard this song and dance a thousand times before, and has gotten old since the idea of 'parodying our capitalistic overlords' was invented." I wanted something with a lot more intelligence baked into it, I wanted something that took its premises and tried to do more than poke fun at itself and acknowledge the fact that it was pretty bad and that the rest of the franchise is basically stuck in this funk. I wanted if not a grander narrative, then a small, short, self-contained series of gags that did try to change things, with a world that did react to what it was doing instead of just being a complete and utter acid trip of a series that allowed itself to do whatever it wanted to do without realizing that what it allowed to happen within its own world wouldn't realistically take place. The chaos that could happen would inevitably balance itself out as the main characters do arguably terrible things just to find out that their actions have consequences, and that they would need to adapt not out of a sense of character growth but because either what they did got old, or was found out to not really be practical or in their best interest. I wanted logic within this silly little cartoon, I wanted to be told that everything could get better or worse or change in ways that were interesting instead of being a constant white noise that droned on for ages. Also, the animation was terrible and honestly, coming off of so many fantastically animated shows and movies, I kind of assumed that a global standard and effort was going around for every piece of art to be great (this was before I found out about how separated everyone was from different studios which were owned by different companies and everyone had their own beliefs, obligations, rules, standards, experiences, education, and whatever else. I compromised to at least thinking that some companies were bad and other companies were good before that worldview also got shattered). Overall, despite my age I was not the target demographic for this show. I had a completely different viewpoint of what a show should be and I ended up really disliking this show. There was also outside stigma and just overall ego problems between me and other people associated with this show that I either wanted to stay out of and was paranoid of what others thought of me that I kind of... had a cringe avoidance phobia that assimilated itself into the greater social fear of others.

Crash of the titans and Mind Over Mutant’s writing was better than Sonic Boom’s. Boom writing isn’t bad but it isn’t he masterpiece people think it is.
