This is something that happens with every generation of consoles. Sony kept the PS4 up and running even as the PS5 was taking charge. It definitely helped since the PS5 was hard to find over the past 3 years. But now, it's time to move on. You definitely made a great point here. They need to develop games that can take full advantage of the PS5's hardware. It needs to be more than a slightly upgraded PS4. Hopefully, this will happen over the next few years. With that being said, I still enjoyed my PS4. It was one of the best consoles I ever had. But I'm definitely enjoying my PS5 right now. I just hope it gets to reach it's full potential. Much like the PS4 did.

Another thing I will add is that I hope the PS5 gets more backwards compatibility support in the future. Any has a whole host of games from 4 previous generations that shouldn't be left behind. Obviously, they should focus more on new games. But that doesn't mean that older games should get the shaft.

Yeah the PS4 and Xbox One quickly felt outdated, which is why the Pro and One X felt much needed. I basically stopped console gaming until the One X came out. The PS5 and Xbox Series shipped relatively speaking, with a lot of power, they still seem powerful today. They'll definitely age better, unless there's a breakthrough or something with CPUs and GPUs

Well, take heart, they were still releasing system software updates for PS3 as late as 2022 and who knows, it's always possible we might see another one sometime. Also there are still a few online games functioning on PS3. As for the PS4, the pandemic definitely helped extend it's lifetime and new releases are still coming out for it here in the second half of 2023 including a small number of AAA titles. If one was so inclined, replacing the internal hard drive with an SSD would really help the PS4, or even an external SSD.

Maybe some or most developers didn't know what to do with the powerful hardware of the PS5 and Series X. Hence, why some next-gen games right now just looked like glorified current-gen games in terms of graphics Also, the PS4 lasting as long as the PS2 is quite an impressive feat for a video game console

I feel like the PS4 really pushed the graphics intensity to HDR real life lighting, making everything look almost photorealistic. The PS5 only added Raytracing, just bump the textures to 8k, with larger worlds and faster load times. That's all.

Nice video My only disappointment is the fact that aside from the RayTracing, and the upscale 8k texture upgrades. The graphics look too similar to the PS4. No tremendous huge jump. It has gotten to a point where I'm not too obsessed in playing new games, I'm comfortable with what my PS4 and Vita are offering to me. (Buying a PSVR very soon). And I'm fine with it. Probably till PS6

the PS4 pro is my last Sony Console. Heck I still play PS2 and PS3 sometimes because there are some really underrated hidden Gems that you can find used. And it's still a Blast. As for the PS5: I won't buy one. I don't see any reason to buy one. Most of it's games are Multiplattform Titles or timed exclusives which i can play on my PC. On top of that Sony lost a lot of first Party Games and even entire Genres since they shut down so many Studios, that even EA got jealous.
