Why in North America only the Italian olive oil is dominant? I visit Spain a lot and know the difference in quality and taste of the Spanish olive oil and the olive fruit itself. Bring more Spanish olive oil in America por favor.

Because they were the first to advertise themselves and, once they became famous, they didn't mind exporting real rubbish to the US. It is also true that there are a lot of Italian-Americans in the US and that helped a lot.

It doesn't just exist (It's spanish, of course it exists here) but it's one if not the most sold brand together with La Española, Hojiblanca, La Masía, Koipe, etc. That's not counting the "white brands" sold by the principle supermarkets (Mercadona, Consum, Día....) because they are cheaper. Carbonell is a good comercial brand, but if you want better quality, you go with not so comercial and much more expensive. Where I live, Andalucía, is probably where the best olive oil is and a lot of us own or know someone that has olive trees and makes their own oil, so we have it directly from the "Almazara" (where you make the olive oil). Can't get better than that.

hi, I bought some evoo from olive oil lovers and it arrived on sept 14 2023 but the harvest date was oct 2022 .it was a Spanish oil.i was a lil disappointed even tho its use by date id feb 2025. would you keep this or send it back. id like to try cockatoo from Australia..any idea how to obtain ? thx for your time

@@tinakarras7571 Error. Olive oil must not have more than a year from the harvest date. In fact a nine months old olive oil has lost a lot of quality.

In the south of Spain, the harvest starts in mid november. Try to buy olive oil milled between december and february of the current year.

Why have the old extensión territory in rhe world in Olive. Only Andalucía, im jaen, is a sea of olive cultive. Production the 50% olive in the world. More riche in variety, the more famous, la picual, but too, hojiblanca to Málaga, cornicabra to Córdoba, and my favourite, aberquina, but the aberquina is not andalusian, is catalán aove variety.

In my experience, Italy and Greece produce more refined and better tasting olive oil. Greater quantity doesn't always translate into better quality.

Refined oil is oil that has been industrially processed. Maybe you mean delicate? Italian and Greek oils can be sweeter and have notes often of apple and almond. Preference of notes can be personal and depend on what you are cooking.

I find many Spanish olive oils too heavy, bitter and overpowering as compared to Italian olive oils which generally speaking strike me as more refined and versatile.

Ohh my goodness, the aberquina IS a incredible spanish oil, IS very delicate flavour. Brands for example , castillo de canena, flor de Andalucía or Márquez de griñón is incredible oil, not overpowering. The Jaén variety picual IS the best aove in the world.

Forget about Spanish olive oil. The best olive oil you can get is from the Turkish Ageian region. I travelled all around the world and no olive oil had that unique taste!
