I think one of the big reason too is that her discs are obtained in the same place as Ellen's, and assuming that speedrunners/minmaxers run Ellen for one team since she's like the strongest char for now, it's very easy to get both geared at the same time.

I don't have Grace yet. My team is Piper+lucy with Corin as my main attacker. I have started switching to Piper more often than using Corin at all. Piper starts chain attack, and depending on the enemy (so number of chain attacks) ensure that Lucy is last, after her attack quick assist back into Piper. She does 60k for me often, with worse stats that EOD's (I don't have AP on main stat disc atm, early game so I plan to do that a long time later.) When I get disorder from Lucy+piper, its a decent chunk of around 85k +60k assault.

I have her and her signature w-engine. She can kill normal enemy quite well w her anomaly build up but the time for her animation to finish all 3 basic attacks is slow so i usually just hold the ex special attack immediately for the spin esp going against enemies like in the ballet twins stages

Having some trouble proccing disorder with grace, not really geared but does grace require lots of proficiency? I noticed my piper with lvl 0 gear basically being able to proc assault in just one E spin cycle where grace needs a bunch of E's to achieve the shock.

yeah piper has an insanely fast anomaly buildup when you get more than 2 secs of hits from the skill. grace on the otherhand needs a few basic attacks first before throwing out her E (regardless if its EX or not), since her core skill makes it so that weaving in basic attacks increases the anomaly buildup of her E

Grace has a little meter below her buffs that fills out after 3 basic attacks. Only use her special or Ex Special when that meter is full, because that drastically increases her anomaly buildup rate. It's a bit more micro-heavy than Piper, but Grace is a ranged unit (with a huge AOE sweep on her attacks) so she has that as a major advantage.

What I don’t get is yes I see loads of people using her in teams for shiyu. What I don’t see is people building her properly and having her with shit stats meaning the disorder damage is gonna be way lower. Maybe it’s coz I went hard out to build mine as she’s my dps but if she doesn’t have at least 150 mastery (which you can easily get thanks to slot 6 and using a guaranteed stat item to drop mastery) and at least 340 minimum proficiency then she’s not as helpful for disorder. Mine is sitting on 150 mastery , 375 proficiency (which I know I can get higher as I had her sitting on 384 proficiency with 4 piece freedom instead of 4 piece fang like i currently have) and 2207 attack at level 50 and she usually does minimum 100k of assault just in first spin before the 4 piece buff even kicks in

I do have grace, and this is useful lol. Actually, my luck has been insane since my guaranteed was lycaon, i won the 50/50 on ellen and got her weapon kinda early. Decided to pull again on ellen to get another character or first mindscape, and actually glad i lost b/c i got Grace, and then w/ the standard passes i got her weapon right after. I'm literally on the same shiyu floors as you, with even the same ranking, just using grace/nicole/piper core and the mono ice team, even was able to S floor 10 on the normal shiyu. Piper is a secret s tier and i actually think lucy is slept on heavy

Don't you miss out on all 3 characters' additional ability if you run Grace/Nicole/Piper? Grace and Piper synergy is so good but teambuliding for the third slot is kind of awkward for them.

In my case, applying anomaly on stunned enemies literally doubles my pipers assault DMG. So yeah. The only problem is that enemies don't stay stunned for long

It's really easy in Z³ to only see agent rank as an indicator of power. However, alot of the A-ranks are sleeper hits that can actually do busted amounts of damage.

it's gonna be pretty worthless speculation, they could simply release unit that have higher base anomaly proficiency, better kit or something like better gearset in the future to balance it out, no one would know for sure.

No one knows but technically, crit chance and crit damage for attackers is anomaly mastery and anomaly prof for anomaly characters. They BOTH scale off attack, damage% and PEN so there shouldn't be any difference in that regard. However we do not have the exact damage formula for anomaly so ...

honestly? I think unless you whale to get dupes for your crit char and get their sig, I don't think regular carries are gonna compete with anomaly, especially after seeing Jane Doe's kit. But we still don't know how they plan to do things moving forward

Learning from Honkai Star Rail, they introduced "Break Effects" (similar to anomaly) which overshadowed by crit in the early version (v.1-v.2) But after introducing "Super Break" mechanism in v2.0, and newly released characters begin to fully utilized this mechanic, "Break Effects" suddenly become busted even without proper invesment. Maybe in the future they will introduce super anomaly or something.

I would like to see a video about disorder vs crit calculations. From my understanding disorder/anomoly dmg also has multiplicative scaling with daze, attack, pen/enemy res, lvl ?, anomoly prof/Anomoly mastery kinda, dmg%, + base anomoly/disorder dmg whereas crit scales with all of that - anomoly prof + (base skill Dmg and crit ratio). Im curious as to the specifics of why/if/where/when there is marginal decrease in damage relative to energy investment.

Is it worth building Piper if I already have Ellen Soukaku Lycoan + Anton Grace Anby all at 40? I don't know if that's a waste of resoruces or not but I do want to clear Shiyu at least a bit before reset.

This may be a later game goal. But you should have a dps for each element to account for the hard contents resistance swapping. pipers numbers are solid and reliable. And her gearing is low to the ground for the most part. Barring omega blursed substats as usual. Shes not a bad pick for physical. And would be a viable pivot to a more supporting role later if/ whem busted physical units come out. Hope this helps somewhat Edit: especially if your goal is to clear just a bit of it you can super slow roll building more units to fill any missing gaps

that why you gotta experiment and not just follow all these DPS guides out there (unless that how you are) ive been running piper and lucy with koleda/nicole depending if its bossing for mobbing and she chunks also when you proc assault it also adds flinch where the enemy takes 10% more daze WHICH MEANS piper could literaly be HER OWN STUN UNIT! she is a stun dps! MEANING ALSO you could throw in Corin for a Piper,Lucy,Corin team and fully shred through any boss!

Geniune question Since lategame mobs are tankier, Is Slot 5 Pen% better than Elemental dmg main stat? Im planning to build, elemental + 2 crit rate set Edit: or elemental + 2 pen % set Im kinda wanna balance it out with 6 crit dmg and 5 pen ratio main stat for auto dps like ellen. But im not sure if its worth to use pen ratio. I have little exp for now and i dont wanna waste it.

You can use PEN Ratio on units who have a lot of DMG% on their kit already like Billy, Neko, etc. It's viable since too much DMG% will have diminishing returns.

I think as time goes on we will want to run a mix of Crit/Crit Dmg and Anomaly Mastery/Proficiency on Anomaly units but time will tell

My piper procs assault anywhere from 16k to 60k while my nekos assault never hits below 26k ...assault makes no sense.

Nekomata is very tricky, you have to be on the back of the enemy for her true damage so if they suddenly turn around is a dps loss, and her charged attack moves you to the back, it takes a lot of positioning in consideration, but yeah overall not the best S rank

Assault damage is not based on who lands the final hit to trigger it. It is based on each agent level and AP, proportional to how much Assault contributed to the proc build up. If you are seeing bigger numbers with Neko, it can mean 2 things: 1)YOUR Neko combination of AP and Level is higher than your Pipper's. 2)You are triggering Assault with the character that did the least contribution

@kyrie-24 I've tested them both solo. Neko, with less then half the ap of piper, has more consistent assault procs, albeit a lower ceiling, piper has a higher ceiling bit can proc much lower. Again, assault makes no sense.
