Sometimes spinal cord stimulation is miraculous.
Here’s a video of a recent patient whose responded quite well to neuromodulation. A thoracic paddle lead implant with a minimally invasive approach. What is the role of Nevro, Medtronic, Boston scientific , Abbott and Nalu?
This is a real world experience of a patient and his wife regarding a recent implantation.
There’s a lot to learn from this conversation for both physicians and patients.

This couple has hit the nail on the head in describing how debilitating and all encompassing this kind of pain is. My life has been completely destroyed by this horrible pain over the last few years and I can relate to everything that they discussed on this topic. Last week I had a NeuroXR Burst spinal cord stimulator installed and I am anxiously awaiting when they turn the system on in nine days! Right now my pain is sitting at a nine or 10 and I’m not getting any relief at all from the pain medication I am receiving which is substantial. My quality of life is nonexistent and I am so tired and depressed that I have become a prisoner in my own home just because of the pain. If I can get ANY RELIEF, it will be worth the discomfort I went through in getting the stimulator installed. This gentleman’s story has given me a glimmer of hope for a new life. Please thank him for me.

He's lucky he has a partner that is so compassionate. The I I could do the less my family came around. I knew when holidays were and could plan ahead unless it rains or weather drops quickly. I would have loved to have raised much kindness.

I am so impressed with his spouse! She seems very aware and supportive of his pain management regimen. As a fellow sufferer of 24/7/365 pain in various areas of my body, I can appreciate a supportive spouse! My husband is wonderful and supportive of me and my many complaints. But I do feel guilty at times though, (lots of times) and feel like I am such a burden and a drain. I am looking into getting a SCS soon and hope to find some relief at least from my back. God bless both of you and I pray continued relief and recovery after the implantation of your SCS!

Excellent video, Your are a very Excellent Specialist. I just wish I could get relief from how I am 😮😊😢. Just over how this is. A person would have to live with PAIN . Now one understands only a person who lives with it.

A Complete Miracle!! I can completely relate to the pain at only 57. Yes, it controls every aspect of your life. It takes a very strong relationship to get through this sort of life changing pain. These two people did an amazing job explaining what it's like living in pain 24/7. After a severe fall and several fusions to include my back, SI joint. During all this I broke two bones in my pubic Rami, I had torn tendons and ligaments, severe infection just one ordeal after another and living in non-stop pain. Yes, it will consume your life, you have no quality of life nor do you wanna be in this world living in this sort of pain. I am scheduled to have a trial spine stimulater in a little over a week. I am very nervous as you hear both sides of good and bad from prior patients. I have very little to choose from, more fusion, pain stimulater or stay like this. I pray I get the relief that this man has received from the stimulater. I'm keeping the faith that I will. Thanks so very much for this video. Prayers for continued pain relief and good health.

I have had mine for about 23 years from an accident in the Army. Divorced after I had to start having a ton of operations in 2017 and beyond, and could not work anymore and became 100% VA. I have had 19 operations at this point and I have chronic pain in all of my joints. I am getting mine in about a month to 45 days. I wouldn't still be here if I weren't a single father of 3 boys needing to take care of them. I still have 2 at home. One in high school, and one in college. It takes all I have to cook, clean, and things like this, and the boys and I all do these things together. I can't wait to give this a try.

Yes, thank you all! I am going to try this. I have been in pain for 20 years-- no surgeries but tried everything else. Looking to address my sciatica with this . I know it won’t help my other pain. I live in California. San Diego. Otherwise, I would come to you!

@@wportermcrobertsI just saw this while I was watching your videos again Re: SCS. THANK YOU! I am feeling like him. Too long. I have been diagnosed recently with severe facet degeneration and sciatica- not sure if left butt pain/sciatica is Sacrillac joint Irritating sciatica nerve. Thank you. Can’t exercise as you have said to do until I lessen the pain. My weight is good but was better 2 years ago when I walked every day.

You are a superb physician and human being. My father was a surgeon. I use to go with him when I was little to do house calls in the early days-things have changed. Doctors don’t take the time like you do.

My doctor has mentioned this to me. I am not sure I want it. Am 51 years old with low back pain since in my 20. I have seen a lot of bad reviews on it.

I have an SCS and have not realized any pain relief so I’m not turning it on and want to have it removed. One of the problems is I can’t have an MRI with it in place. I’ve tried ablations and pain killers still no results. I’m tired of being in pain 24/7 and it only gets better when I sit.

This is my current issue, I need an Lumbar MRI yet all local facilities only have a 3T and due to the Nevro Spinal Cord Stimulator Implant the Tech cancelled my scheduled MRI last week and explained the 3T is too strong. Per the guidelines, I can only have a full Lumbar MRI scan with a 1.5 machine, which isn't readily available. I'm waiting to get information from my orthopedic who installed the Implant and provide the facility where thier patients in my particular situation can go get a safe MRI. Honestly contemplating of having it removed as I was under the impression, it was MRI compatible.

Very short story !! Well I can relate to the pain back pain and leg pain! I fell flat back to the floor. My life has changed to horrible non existence!! My STIMULATOR IMPLANT WAS IN 12-6-22 very disappointed to date!!NOT CANDY COATING MY EXPERIENCE. I can’t still sit up for but few hours a week. Then pay for it for days. My pain is 24/7 and it’s not any better. My pain is real but the stimulator has not worked for me. I have no quality of life since my fall and messed up my back to a train wreck.. I would take being able to sit up for 5 to 8 hours a day with Tolerable pain but it has not not even close. Some people I’m here to tell you it ain’t all cookies and ice cream. If I had to go over again I wouldn’t do it.

Praying for you to find relief. I know all to well how miserable it is but Thankfully I can sit up and get some relief when sitting. I struggle to walk and very bent over basically d4ag myself around but it's very hard. I truly pray there is help for you. 🙏🙏
