Simple answer, SSJ3 was stressful to draw over and over for each frame. So Toriyama made that excuse to not draw it as much.

It drained him because SSJ3 is an incomplete form of SSJ4 The Ozaru is fighting the humanoid form. This causes Ki drain and the drain in his time. This may be a bigger issue ad there is no tail. SSJ4 is the complete form, the Ozaru, and humanoid in harmony and working together, as there is a tail. The tail is that important to a Saiyan.

God ki sounds overrated since we’ve seen so many mortal characters contend with those forms. Even SS1, which is more powerful than obviously Kami as well as many Kais, has been contested by many characters In short god level in Dragon Ball is an absurd term because the goal post is always moving.

In the original cannon SSJ3 is the limit of a Saiyan. Son Gohan reached the power of SSJ3 but without the power drain in his Ultimate form. It would have made more sense if Son Goku mastered SSJ3 BEFORE going higher ( SSJ4/SSJR/SSJB/UI) that's where GT and Super failed🤓💯

Really neat video my logic for it was always that the moment he left the afterlife he was at 100% and from the moment he entered the world of the living this was what he had at his disposal so lets say he wasted 20% even if he got healed his reserves were still 80% left because if i remember correctly he did get healed by Dende after fighting Vegeta Buu only got less than 10 blows on him but he still collapsed when he showed the form to the kids and was sweating afterwards until the moment he left,its how ssj3 is a constant burn like i think if he used ssj and probably 2 he could stay the entire 24 hours like that provided he didnt over exert himself it could also be that ssj3 might use genki energy too since he fought all out as ssj2 and there was no mention of his time being used up

ik this isnt how it works or canon but i had an idea that stuff like this and in fusions how the time limit decreases when fusions do something is because when they increase in power they become faster and there perception of time is slower so for them its 30 minutes.

I love this form but that energy drainage is irritating. I completely understood the form having that effect in the Buu saga but after mastering god Ki Goku said in the TOP the form still has that problem which to me doesn’t make sense. Both him and Vegeta has mastered higher levels of energy control. Other characters too Jiren, frieza, and etc. I thought the “this form is too draining to use for long would have stopped being a thing” that should be reserved for brand new forms and power ups. Kinda like how Goku almost died using MUI when fighting Jiren….or at least it looked like it. Blood spewed out, he de powered and collapsed. Or when he combined SSB with Kaioken and it has lingering damage and issues done to him after the first tournament

It's Goku's fault not SS3. SS3 is like less than 1% of his power in DBS and stronger energy consuming forms don't make him suffer in energy loss so SS3 would no longer be a problem in DBS because Goku is now strong enough.

@Ascension7707 i think the issue is it's unnatural, everyone who has done it was done so under strange circumstances: goku was dead, gotenks is a fusion and even vegeta could possibly got it while dead

@@Ascension7707 it’s because the nature of the form itself is dependent on straining the body to pull out more power in unnatural way compared to something like the god forms. super saiyan two and three are just extensions of the original super saiyan form, pushing it further than saiyan biology was meant to handle. the god forms and doctrine forms are fundamentally different

I always like to think of Super Saiyan 3 as an unstable step-up to the more stable and controllable ssj4, which I really wish was cannon despite super. Maybe there’s a way they can bring it into the story later as part of getting back to their saiyan roots, or needing it to ascend to a new transformation (ssj5 = ssj4 + PUI? 👀), who knows

Super Saiyan 3 has energy problems because Goku doesn't have the Sayia power to stay in the form for long, Sayia power is a type of energy Saiyan's have, and because of the lack of a lot of it, Goku can't stay in the form for long.

The answer is simply that any energy that Goku uses when he's dead but not in other world even the energy to just to stand up out of a chair he cannot get back he cannot recover. Goku has mastered his other Super Saiyan forms to the point that he can maintain them even in his sleep which means they require no energy to maintain but Super Saiyan 3 requires large amounts of energy 50 can't get back because he has a limited tank he can't stand there for 30 seconds and catch his breath it's like running on a treadmill continuously Non-Stop. Was by borrowing the energy that was given to him to allow him to exist in the living room world for 24 hours. And you go by the manga it wasn't even 5 minutes worth of fighting with Bill it was more like a minute at most. Play the anime with its typical nonsense of dragging out time makes it look longer than it actually was this is why Goku literally fell over just going Super Saiyan 3 again

My guess is ssj3 drew on Goku's vitality every time he used it. Dare I say such a power probably could've killed him. Had he mastered the form while in other world, this may not have been a problem

I think goku was not ready to go ssj3 is mortal body was not ready for the amount of power that ssj3 needs stamina wise to sustain. It was abit like golden frieza that gold form is ki was taking a hit on each punch or ki blast frieza was using until he was completly empty.
