Andrea Ciccaglione Actually the stormtrooper corp was made as the main strike force in the imperial military. The ones who police planets are actually the main army of the imperial army, which is the imperial army trooper. Their blasters and equipment were high tech. The rebels barely got any good gear. It's just that their blasters are made to penetrate armor which is perfect to use against stormtroopers.

I feel like Disney should make a movie from the Empire's perspective. One that portrays why it's needed around the war torn galaxy. Perhaps it could explain it from possibly a storm trooper who had friends or family on the Death Star. Getting to know both sides of the story gives depth to the both sides. The Empire is treated like a joke to movie/show fans while people who know the truth are ignored by these producers. The rebels get way too much attention, so I think a change of perspective is very much needed. I'm tired of always seeing storm troopers being treated like nothing in the public because that's how they're represented in the shows and movies mostly!

They never would. They don't want to innovate or break any formula. They did it for 2 seconds in Force Awakens with the opening scene win the dying stormtrooper & the blood on Fin's helmet, but then that was it and they went back to being robotic, moronic bad guys. EA did it for like one mission in the campaign for Battlefront 2, but then went back to "rebels good, empire bad" thing. No one wants to break the formula in a major production, & it's sad.

Fun fact picture on screen, when Thara Nynde is mentioned, is in fact from legends comic series called legacy, and it is from before the battle in 137 ABY between 907 division from emperor Roan Fel forces, and 408 from Darth Krayt empire, where eventually many stormtroopers lost faith in the sith and after that joined Fel forces, and admiral Gar Stazi Alliance remnants

I'd imagine it's mostly the same as why actual soldiers join up. You get some adventure, benefits, pay, training in a particular field and job stability. The average trooper probably didn't think that much about why he or she was deployed onto whatever world or may even of been disillusioned and only fighting for their friends in the service. I don't really think people's motivations change that much overall if the characters are written like actual people.

Being a stormtrooper doesn't sound like a bad job as long as you're deployed on a planet that's far from any real conflict going on. Patrol cities/settlements, uphold order (I guess) and guarding resources, clearing up disaster events is a respectable job that must pay well. Pretty similar to being in the national guard in some ways, that's what my brother tells me since his in it. If I had the choice to choose what weapons I'd have in my kit it would be the MKII E-11 carbine with the targeting sensor and scope power pack, as well as a SE-14r pistol as a backup. Both guns can fire in semi and full auto, so I can cover my bases should I get into an encounter. Oh, and 3-4 thermal detonators because blowing shit up is always fun (as long as you're not caught in the blast :p).

Cold Flame it would be quite short since generally most rebels joined due to hating the empire and it’s ways. Some specific people may have joined for different reasons but honestly I doubt many rebels joined for other reasons

Well, can’t say I don’t see some of their points. It was dumb to have the Jedi do all the peacekeeping work since they were never really part of any government in the first place. Serving as mediator is one thing but they should let’s two political powers solve their own problems. The whole ‘ends justify the means’ mentality does not work here. You can sacrifice innocent so blatantly and hope peace will come out of it. That’s just adding fuel to the fire. But now I can’t blame others who join the military because they want to make a living.

Yeah, but you also have to take into account that the Empire is supposed to be portrayed in the way they are. That was George Lucas's intention. I don't believe this is canon. Disney would never allow anything involving the Empire to be a moral grey area... I like the research done into these topics. It really gives insight into both sides, how hardly anything in Star Wars is Black & White, bu more grayish. The Empire was clearly in the wrong being repressive, tried putting humans above aliens, and could be straight up brutal to it’s own people like with Operation Cinder from Battlefront 2, yet it managed to assemble one of the largest armies in the Galaxy and brought order to previously lawless regions. P.S. it would be wise to remember Palpatine’s role in the Clone Wars, he controlled both sides and prolonged the war so the Republic could gain much of the galaxy’s assets for when he attacked the Jedi.
