Why Sugar Ages You

The last of our sugar series before we get back to more fun stuff. Here I explain exactly why sugar can age people. Yes the body can run on sugar. Yes almost everything we eat turns into some form of sugar in the body. But it's not that simple. Those are excuses used by sugar addicts. It's not just the FORM of sugar that matters, but also HOW much we actually need vs how much we consume and how concentrated it is. If we truly ate the way nature intended, this would not even be an issue, but almost nobody eats the way we are supposed to by design. So watch and learn and maybe it may inspire you to make a few adjustments. Nothing radical, just a few tweaks here and there. Enjoy!

When you throw out the fiber, you are throwing away almost 80 percent of the polyphenols!

Glycation: Sugar molecules attach to a lipid or protein- particularly collagen and elastin proteins in the skin. This process produces advanced glycosylation end-products (AGEs) which cause protein fibers to become stiff and malformed , resulting in wrinkles, stiffness and loss of elasticity and accelerated aging, The body does not recognize AGEs as normal, and will produce antibodies that cause inflammation in the skin. Sugar is a dehydrating agent, so it increases oil production. It also affects water binding so your skin - also dark circles. Typical sugars involved in glycation are glucose, fructose, or their derivatives. Glycation is a biomarker for diabetes and is implicated in some diseases and in aging.
Insulin will not allow you to tap body fat for energy. The reason people get ravenously hungry if they don’t eat every hour or two is because they have too much insulin circulating around their body left over from the carbs they recently ate. This is why if you’re following the SAD diet, you’re going to get stuck in this loop of wanting to eat every time your blood glucose drops and 3 meals a day will feel very necessary. When you eat lost of carbs, Insulin is used to help glucose get into cells for energy, but not all the glucose can be used all at once because the cells can only use so much at once, so the body stores the left over glucose in fat cells. But this glucose in fat cannot be used if insulin is present.
During intermittent fasting, insulin is no longer present, so the energy stored in fat can finally be used.

I've looked at hundreds and hundreds of videos regarding health and this guy is the real deal. He's knowledgeable and he really does believe in trying to help everyone look their best and be their best. He is the youngest looking of all the different speakers telling us how to eat and what to do to stay healthy. That alone says a lot.

I know you're most recent videos extoll the virtues of protein but for anyone who hasn't seen them, let me say this. unfortunately, before I realized how important is to get enough protein into your diet as you get older, I went on a low carb vegetarian diet ,. I lost a lot of weight but I also lost bone mass and threw myself into osteoporosis. I am reversing that now but let me be a cautionary tail to anyone who seeing this video.

Honestly the most intelligent voice on the topic of raw food. Who else looks this healthy and young for their age too He gets everything right. He understands it's 1:1 greens to fruit. He understands you want to intermittent fast. He understands brothy soups are ok on raw. He keeps the diet fun and sustainable and doesn't live in fear of not being natural enough. He understands the importance of fasting and cleaning the liver and mucoid plaque. Just knocks it out of the park and just look at him it all pays off Rock on markus

This is maybe the most important video you have ever made! I have never had anyone practically explain, in layman's terms exactly WHY intermittent fasting works, and what is happening in the body. And how culturally we are all messed up with food. I need to re-listen to this video a few times, and I will most definately use the links you have provided below. I am feeling ready to make some positive changes in my life. This video has been most helpful. and You and Cara are an important influence on me and I genuinely appreciate the value you impart to us all with your videos and information. I think I need to work my way up to a 16-8 fasting window. I am still just trying to for real eat ZERO processed foods to break food addictions. (that would make a very interesting video topic too!) and I am hoping in the next 2-4 weeks I can break food addictions and achieve some intermittent fasting too. Thank you so much for this video. it really hit home for me. Cheers!

I had sciatica (lower back pain) for over 3 years, i couldn’t work or do anything i was devastated but i didn’t believe in surgery and tried everything. I’ve noticed that when I ate fresh fruits (no juicing) my back pain decreased to 50%! Vitamin C really helped me, vitamin pills wasn’t as effective as fresh fruit. I took Black seed oil and spices which also helped but I still wasn’t 100% so I took out processed carbs and my sciatica healed within a couple of days. I couldn’t believe it. Now i can exercise without any pain and feel amazing! I would tell my dad about this and his wife would give me a lecture on “how fruits are bad for you” as she ate a bag of salty msg flavored chips 😑 anyways I know there are tons of info on KZbin and everybody’s body is different so it’s hard to figure out what works for you, but I always come back to your videos! Im naturally intermittent fasting and my hunger only falls into a 4 hr window then I'm "over it" lol, and you're right about not being able to overeat whole fruit. Hunger or the interest just 'shuts off'. It also reminded me I can't get all that good HGH released when I havent been getting proper sleep, still working on that. I just moved and spent 12 hrs going up and down 32 steps with my belongings and didnt eat anything. I actually wasnt hungry, cause i think its like what you said-the body's amazing. Also your skin looks so great! Your face, neck and hands - so youthful! #goals

But it's hard at times because I have three children at various ages who don't like vegetables except for canned green beans, so it is VERY hard for me to not eat right all the time. Markus, thank you for being persistent in teaching us and clarifying healthy eating. I was watching a video this morning that made me question my new journey. After watching many videos we tend to get confused about what is real and what is accurate and what is healthy. You video was timed perfectly for me. The big debate on which diet is best is confusing at times. The video I watched was a women about 43 being praised by the Dr reading her MRI. He said she had the muscle and bone structure of a 14-16 year old, it was that good. She contributed the results to her keto diet. However she stated that she was eating OMAD with a 1-2hr window. After listening to you video, I would say the OMAD style (how) of eating was causing the success and not the keto (what). Would you agree? I understand that the what will eventually catch up with her. Thank you for helping us stay on track. You Rock!

Enough about the 'god' stuff with designing. We're our own designers in choosing what's best for ourselves, and that just ends up showing up over time in our anatomy. It's not some 'god', as we're kind of our own 'god' - if you want to associate design with 'god'.

First stop all candy and processed foods. I used to eat mostly those two things plus drink only juice. One day I decided to stop. It starts with what you buy; do not buy these items for any reason, and throw out what you do have or give it away. Be conscious of what you buy. Once you have managed this, the rest is easy. I have a ne spoon of honey and occasionally one bite, one, of high quality gelato. It’s easy now and I have not been sick or have had any allergies since I did this. And no mood swings. Good luck.

I had to laugh at that, but since I'm older, I guess I am kinda interested in preventing them, but I still care about the health part of it. I've been intermittent fasting, since watching your video about it awhile ago and it's working out great for me. Thanks for the reminder to start shortening the eating period. Insulin is released with the introduction of all carbohydrates-sugars and starch-with the exception of soluble and insoluble fibers. Insulin is ALSO released when large meals are eaten, regardless of who much carbohydrates, proteins and fats are present. The more calories consumed beyond satiation, the more insulin is released. There are products made from animals. Lets say...we stop all this cruel stuff...the animals will be killed anyway. Not released in nature. No cows and pigs, chickens will be released in our forests! Please...be aware of that. All this cruelty brakes my soul. Knowing that animals would not eat also. Because they have nowhere to go, if not being held as cattle and so on. In my opinion those fruit or sugary desserts aged Cara so much because they were COOKED and not RAW. RAW FRUITS are not a problem. It's when cooking or baking the fruits that the sugar in them gets altered and cause problems, but in their RAW natural state this is not the case. The body can perfectly deal with sugar from fruits as long as they are raw, in their natural state and not altered by unnatural processes, like cooking, refining, bleaching, etc.

No juice in can's or jars (reduces trash too). I love a good steak but I'm more chicken and fish and lots of stir fry easy on the fry....more plant fats. I reduced my BP big time just eating simple and clean 85 percent of the time. The other 10 to 20% is the balance. Sugar and caffeine are kept in check. I have a high metabolism even at 64! I still take in 1500 to 2000 calories a day when I am needing to. When we eat clean we can eat more and when it's good stuff I don't worry about calories. great information! Thank you!
