@@poobkid In my opinion, Galaxy 1's story is definitely better than Galaxy 2's. In terms of actual gameplay, they're on par with each other. I think the original Galaxy is more difficult than Galaxy 2, and as far as I can remember has much more comets than the sequel. Honestly, I predict that the Switch controls for Galaxy might only be a little bit better than the controls for the original Wii Sports, in that without the infrared sensor bar, the controls could go out of alignment often so that the screen cursor/pointer may be annoying to use. If you want the definitive experience, play it on the Wii with the Nunchuk, and get a Wii2HDMI adapter. They work great, and both games still look amazing in 480P. But I'm still getting 3D All-Stars because I want to see how the experience is, and I don't have Sunshine.

They created all the games that you own (from their license/logo), they made a massive crunch for "Animal Crossing : New Horizons" they improve all their games. They even deserve a break from the crunch. Saying that Nintendo is Lazy for their games is therefore none in their adjective, Nintendo plans to create new games, Nintendo let some games out of Nintendo's license enter their console (Like Fortnite, never heard of it. I do but I hate it), or even let's SEGA do what with their license and Nintendo's license (Mario and Sonic at Olympic games of Tokyo 2020). Nintendo's going slow with the games because they had a lot of work, and if they decide to create a new console, they would cancel everything in game development.

@@mokanti I'm not saying that the developers themselves are lazy. I know that game devs often have to overwork and work hard in general. I'm talking about the way Nintendo treats their games. Nintendo plays it extremely safe when it comes to their games and don't really put in much effort anymore. Let's use Animal Crossing for example. When it comes to dialogue you get the same 3 lines repeated over and over again with every personality. In previous games you could visit random dream worlds but now you have to put in a code. Trying to visit someone's island with a few other players is a horrible experience. People are so bored with the game that they desperately try anything to have some fun. Or look at Pokemon. How well received were Pokemon Sun/Moon and Sword/Shield? These games were terrible imo and I never finished them. And how many companies can get away with selling a game that is 5 hours long for 60 dollars? I like Nintendo and I have owned almost every console/handhold that they have brought out. But that doesn't mean that they don't have flaws and these are massive flaws in my opinion. It always feels like they just go with the easy route and try to make as much money as possible with putting in the least amount of effort.

Edit: I misunderstood OP. I didn't see that he meant analog controls. I still think the controls would be mediocre compared to the original, that would certainly improve it. In my opinion, the controls suck. You can't jump kick into a double jump, diving was nerfed, movement is digital, triple jumping is harder, kick sliding was nerfed, and you just don't conserve much momentum. Having true analog movement would help, but there would do be some annoying issues left over.

It's likely for 2 reasons. It's harder to port from the DS and the DS version of the game used a lot of unique assets that would need to be fixed. The DS runs The game at a lower resolution and all the assets are built around that (though they're higher poly). The DS version would look ugly on a modern TV otherwise.

Nintendo fans can differ with their opinions, but personally I feel excited as a fan to see this 3D all stars game come out to bring out classics from previous Nintendo consoles which the new generation of fans did not get to experience. I hope they do similar things with the Legend of Zelda Franchises and Final Fantasy with super packs so fans can enjoy all the games together in a special edition set. A lot of fans go crazy collecting these games individually so to be able to play them together is a joy. I am still very interested to see what Nintendo will do after the Switch which would be the Nintendo 8- I call it Nintendo 8 since it would be their 8 to compete with the Playstation 5 and XBOX Series One. I hope they really step it up all the way after the Switch because if they do that then they will regain their home console dominance once again. I don't want a Switch 2 which would be disappointing, as I hope Nintendo go out there very best after the Switch and blows everyone away

@s0ulreaper38 Ok I am a big Nintendo fan but I understand well why Sony and Microsoft have done so well with their consoles while Nintendo for some years struggled. The problem is Nintendo invests heavily just on their first party development. Sony and Microsoft made a console which is appealing to many game developers and third party support. There was a lot of variety of games in the Playstation consoles and XBOX. Nintendo also made a mistake of just targeting itself to just younger crowd. I think Nintendo hasn't given us their absolute best. I think they can do something much better then Switch for their next console. If they do something amazing that challenges the PS5 and XBOX Series X they will regain the home console throne. While the Switch is doing extremely well, I don't view it necessarily as Nintendo very best yet. I still think they can top the Switch. I seen Nintendo at their peak with NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64 and started holding back with the GameCube, Wii and Wii U. Yes the Wii did very well no question for Nintendo's reputation as a video game company, but honestly I felt I don't get the impression Nintendo was really pushing their absolute best with their consoles seeing the hard work and effort from Sony and Microsoft with their Playstation and XBOX brands.

If they are able to blow everyone away then Nintendo is going to dethrone Sony and Microsoft and be the world video game console war champion again. Switch will do well but I have to say it has some strong competition from PS5 and XBOX Series X. I think Nintendo should ask Sega and Atari to tag team to join forces in this battle for video game console supremacy so the Nintendo 8 will rule the video game world once again.

But Nintendo already makes enough money without putting all their effort into it, I doubt they care about competition but they won't be able to top Sony with the PS5 with all its launch titles and this is coming from a Nintendo fan. Nintendo is sitting back relaxing and not caring about being behind only innovating but so far this year we have to see more from them.

I still remember watching the neighboor's kid playing sunshine and inviting me over cause I was only 4 but still closest to his age and interests . Nintendo's last console was called Nintendo Wii U an that console nearly put Nintendo out of business due to a lack of customers buying it an developers neglected it Inc Nintendo themselves.. Honestly I couldn't care less that the 3D games don't have additional features. It's still a great deal, 3 games for 1 essentially. Ability to play older games without needing an old console or an emulator. I have got some improvements as well though. 1 - traditional all star line up. Personally I'm excited for the 3D games as I've never played them before but it would have been nice to have some of the more traditional games like new super Mario Bros, maybe up to the cat one as apart of another line up. 2 - information about what's happening to the line up after the limited release is finished 3 - I'm not sure how difficult it would be to match the 64 mario to galaxy or sunshine but it would have been nice for them to all have upgraded graphics

I will also be getting the 3D allstar as part of my collection but I do understand why people complain. They just didn't compare it to the previous mario all-stars but other franchise as well where-in it shows how other companies, like Activision, exerted more effort with Spyro and Crash compared to Nintendo. You need to remember, that all these games still have been remastered - none of them have been officially released in HD before. Personally I see it as a neat way of both preserving and celebrating the individual art style of each era, while still making the art styles a bit more slick and nice to look at without completely changing them. If Nintendo had remade SM64 and Sunshine with the same engine and style from Galaxy (or maybe remade them all with the art style and engine from Odyssey) each game wouldn't really feel like its own thing, like this historical collection and their own individual preserved chapter in gaming history - the collection would seem more like one big game, just with different themes and levels, which would take some of the charm and nostalgia out of it. After all, each Mario from all his different 8 and 16 bit-incarnations to his first clunky polygonal look, are often celebrated with different skins in games or on merchandise etc. Even though I would love to experience a completely remade SM64, with perhaps the graphics of Odyssey, instead of just an upscaled remaster, I still like what they did with their more preserving approach in a collection like this - now all we need is also a HD remastered release of Galaxy 2, and then hopefully actual full remakes of some of the first 3D Mario's later down the line.

I dont think you can call it a remaster. Every emulator already does this "REMASTER" by changing an option in the settings. Its just upscaled with nothing else added. You are very wrong. They haven't been remastered at all. Just literally a resolution increase. What you are not grasping is how insignificant this is. Have you ever opened a photo or image & zoomed in a lot? Each time you zoom you are increasing the resolution. What happens is the image becomes blurry cause the original asset quality doesn't exist. This is why this game only looks a tiny better than the originals.

I played both. To me personally I Think they picked the right one. DS is good but It is waaaaaay different to a point where it is pretty much it's own thing entirely. Would be too much work to port it over and polish imo. Fortunately DS Emulation is Cheap and as a result you can pretty much pick your own controller. Unfortunately the Game does not have true Analog control so you are stuck with 8 directions. Honestly I would like a DS port that fixed that issue. That makes the game control poorly. You're not alone. Most people who grew up with the DS version feel that way. It's more about what they experienced first. But I think a lot of people are excited to experience the original. A lot of people never played it so It will be nice to see how they react to it. The fact that this exists at all is stunning. We can hope for a Zelda All stars maybe? OOT, MM, WW and TP in one place? lol. And release SS as a full remake like They are with 3D world. I can dream lol

The thing that’s annoying me most really is that the extra content from the DS remake of 64 isn’t there. I know it’s not tons but I loved the extra characters and the mini games! And the mini games are still totally doable as the switch works in handheld mode and has a touchscreen, but it could easily be adapted for the tv! The limited window release is a telltale sign that the value of this compilation is not $60. How do you get your audience to pay more for a product? You increase its perceived value. Some companies use aggressive marketing and others prefer artificial scarcity. That’s my only issue with this compilation, everything else is just nitpicks.

The only thing I could complain about it is no Galaxy 2 which makes it feel honestly incomplete. But in all honesty Galaxy 2 is just more Galaxy and if one title had to be removed from the 4 that one was the easiest to forgive. The only thing I really have a problem with is when compared to the 25th anniversary release and now is that basically for the same price im getting less to show for. 3 games instead of 4, no special booklet and no physical cd release. I doubt ill be able to port the music from the switch into my PC to be able to use freely like i was able to do 10 years ago with the previous anniversary CD. I’m sure the limited release is due to the fact that it is a celebration for their anniversary. Development is usually given a certain quantity of hours and asked to decide what features they do and do not want to implement inside of these games within that given hour limit. I’m sure there are a lot of developers that worked on this that are grumpy they didn’t get to do certain things as well. It is the nature of the beast. If you let us devs work forever to our view of what it should be, you would never get a product. I’m sure N64 Mario being in an old aspect ratio is due to some extreme changes in code that they just don’t have time to make. This is all conjecture but knowing some of the history of coding in Nintendo, harsh code environments would not surprise me as a limiting factor.

I keep hearing about the moaning from nintendo fans about 35th Mario Anniversary games but let me ask you this. With Microsoft and Sony set to release next generation consoles in the coming months what can Nintendo do to make sure their current gen console still sell? The answer is to released a timed game, make it urgent for people to buy the game and those people who are nostalgic towards Mario64, Mario Sunshine and Mario Galaxy to go out and buy a console and the game when people are looking at next gen. I think nintendo have been very smart ensuring the steady income over the Xmas holidays.

It’s lazy. They could have added 16:9 to Mario 64 and 60 fps to Mario Sunshine with almost no extra work (very easy to do). 60 fps for Mario 64 is a different problem because the game was apparently hardcoded in 30 fps, so it would take some actual work to do. It’s lazy, from start to finish.

they did improve the graphics, everything is more sharper and the 64 textures are better quality. What else do you want them to do, make mario 64 have more polygons? each nintendo game gets half of its identity from the way it looks, they arent just going to make everything look like odyssey

Because it could have been A LOT BETTER. Playing Sunshine again is really awesome but imagine 64 with a remaster like Crash, Spyro or Medievil. Nintendo understands that their fans will buy whatever they put out, so they don't try to improve even a little bit and that's just sad.

I thought what you said was very mature and responsible- so of course I was surprised to see it on the internet. What do I think about this release? I missed the N64, Gamecube, Wii and Wii U generations. All of these ports are "new" to me so I am very happy I can play three new mario games on my Switch for $60. I am also happy for the 3D World port next year- another new game to me. We don't have to find an expensive retro game/console to play these now- which we should be more grateful for. I only hope this is a precedent for what is coming for Zelda next year. I would love some ports of Zelda and maybe the Metroid Prime trilogy for Metroids 35th. I've been trying to be more "glass half full" these days so I am grateful for the opportunity to buy and play these games.
