People are so shallow.... My little sister had to experience how shallow people are and so did my mom. I'm broke now but I'd love to find friends with people who will actually see me for who I am and not for my looks.

I love this! I'm currently a dancer in LA going for my dreams and I'm realizing more and more how important your circle of friends around you is.

I came to California as a kid, it seemed like Heaven on earth, I would see LA but I thought Huntington Beach where I lived was so much better. It wasn't glitz or glamour, I enjoyed the simpler things like seeing the city, being with my friends, and hopping on my bike to see the beach anytime I wanted. It was home and it was all I needed or wanted. What's happening to California right now just breaks my heart.

People need to stop judging folks based on their looks too.

Unfortunately it's in the UK too Its all: Over politeness/fake politeness Platitudes Pleasantries (Hi how are you? If you don't care dont ask) Empty conversation EverEveryone agreeing with everyone else constantly and I think, that's not natural. Where is the one with their own opinion everyone just nodding along and smiling...its effing weird...

But something I have noticed about the U.K. is you all seem less shallow than American culture. I notice I feel more comfortable watching shows from the U.K. Instead of American shows. Shows from the U.K. has everyone represented and doesn’t even discriminate against showing older women like shows from the states. I feel like American culture is too influenced by Hollywood.

I also agree that it is weird if someone that doesnt seem interested in you asks how you are but on the other hand they might not think that because think for a moment why would they ask you if they didnt care in the first place? probably because they are making an effort to get to know you and if you just write people off like that based on how they react i think you are not even giving them a chance in the first place

I love this message. It’s important to surround yourself with positive people no matter where you are. I’m an LA native and I plan on moving anyway.

I feel like a lot of LA folks really don't care about their own city, history and culture. Very self centered and too individualistic, the city is becoming another soulless corporate entity.
