Real reason: the devs decided to break the 2.0 update into small pieces and update frequently instead of aiming for a big update. I guess raz was the person who came up with the idea of big and slow updates.

so far (since lunar overture) we have gotten: easy mode remake, a ton of tower rebalancing and remodeling, 4 new towers (jester, cryomancer, necromancer, and trapper), 3 events, skibidi toilet, new skins, new maps, quests, and a lot of minor tweaks and qol changes. this is an insane amount of features for around 6 months.

I just came back after not playing since 2021 and have been having lots of fun! It feels like when I played from the release grinding all the time because it felt fun and there was updates coming

In reality, the main reason is that they spent the first 3/4 of 2023 just preparing and working on features, while only having small updates on the main game. Now they have finally started rolling out some of that content, along with other cool things like the crook boss and military base rework. I do however, worry for when this huge backlog of content they had ready runs out, as we'll probably be left with another drought. But hey, we survived 2023 with just one TD game, now we have a second one so if TDs decides to go cold on updates we can all just move to tdx for a while.

I mean TDS is kinda ripping of TDX. When they added the trapper tower, it was like "alright". But when they revamped the militairy base shortly after armored factory released, it was still alright yk maybe they planned this al along and then maybe it was the time to release it. But when they added the new "Mercenairies" tower, now that's the last straw. That is literally a 1-1 copy of the barracks. I don't say they rip them off, but this happened with towerbattles too. And yall know how many meme's the TDS community made about that.

i suppose u dont dig deep cuz merc base is the "successor" to army camp that was in the poll back in 2020 (there was a soldier unit in some John's video that u know as rifleman nowadays). Mil base rework was worked on long before tdx got a new tower (gifs with the vehicles' animations bru). Calling trapper a mine layer ripoff is pretty dumb cuz both are based on spike factory from btd6

I Would play tds but i lost my roblox account recently before 2024 i lost sledger which i got a while ago and COWBOY (the new cowboy) After gettting accelerator a I hoppped into those new badlands I lost so much timee but i found 3 players which i played withI dont remember much since this was quite a long time ago but I had the dj accelerator and ranger we all fought and farmed one of then money laundering with cowboys we got all our best of defenses and lost but we were so extremely close that we friended eachother got together and tried again with more greeding farming and right as we were about to lose(this happened) The gun slinger played one of his animation allowing the rangers and most importantly the turrets to land a few more shots during his animation to kill him And he was right at the exit we were all screaming(in the chat) and were extremely happy until i lost that a few weeks later will i play tds again? Maybe also i think one of the people mihht have been named goober maybe as a display name or real name maybe he changed it Thank you for listening to my story🎉

Expert requires lots of ur efforts just to get 1500 coins, which is just 2 fallen mode in tds, i got everything in both games, and i can judge what is the worse, and what is the best

@@filexzz I also have everything, and if you really can't change your expert mode strategy have you ever considered that you're just... Bad? I can quickly adapt to new strata in all of the tdx gamemodes, and have fun using them. In terms of grind for TDs, not only is it MUCH longer but there's so much dead air. Start a new account on tds, then try and play until you are level 50. The grind prior to pizza party is boring, with 2 modes that are pitifully easy and one that is equally easy, just you need more DPS towers. And then even after level 25, what now? Slowly grind for each tower one by one, and then each golden crate. Sure, having more towers is good for replayibility later on, but tdx also does this, and if you are finding it boring, its because you are PLAYING boring.

TDX released during one of TDS' lowest points (the act 3 disaster) so it contributed aswell ever since raz left, lower ranking devs had more power to work on the game rather than being restricted, hence the reason the christmas event was a banger.

I started to play TDS in 2021, even in that time game was good but cannot be better than now. Now towers are getting reworked, there are far better grahphics, far better animations, more modes to play and game is getting refreshed every week. @@canalruindms tds still has been making progress to clear the mess they made over the years, such as balancing being evened out sure, they have been doing smaller updates more frequently, but isnt that the opposite of what they used to do? the entire community was fuming when the devs delayed a winter event by 7 months (cough, tower delay simulator, cough) but yeah, tdx also has some quality, only issue being the grind isnt any better than TDS (dare i say it's worse) and the balancing can still use some work
