There’s a limited amount of spots for goalies. Many of them are taken by young goalies that teams want to to invest in their development, hoping to develop into an NHL goalie. Some teams want to add an experienced goalie to help the young goalie along. There’s a lot of experienced goalies that have NHL experience that they can choose from. The problem with Kasimir is he is a tweener. Nobody looks at him as a goalie that they can develop into an NHL goalie and nobody looks at him as an NHL experienced goalie that will help the young goalie along. Yes in an ability standpoint he may be better than both but he just doesn’t fit what teams long term objectives are, which is to develop players to the NHL.

He was an excellent goalie at Minnesota Duluth, but he turned pro just as they were becoming a powerhouse in 2016. I remember his final NCAA game was a loss to Thatcher Demko and Boston College in the 2016 quarterfinal when the puck was laying on the goal line behind Demko but didn't completely cross the line and BC won 3-2.

Kaz is 31 now. He could pull a Tim Thomas, but he needs to play regularly, which is what he hasn't done since Covid. He should sign with a team in the Coast just to get back into the swing and see if he can dominate. His glove side is a bit off, and he is a touch slow in reactions, but that all comes with regular play.

Kasmir Kaskisuo seems so calm in the chaos, and sometimes I wonder if coaches and GMs misjudge him for it. Are they looking for crazy (Bryzgalov)? Pumped up? A Ron Hextal type? Kaskisuo's personality, at least outwardly, is none of those things. And yet, he has all the tools.

Why is that? Genuinely asking
@Mellotron632 ай бұрын
@@ssweetner it’s not that hard to figure it out. He would be filming behind the scene’s stuff of an NHL team. That’s really exclusive footage. Big companies pay a lot of money just to get their cameramen in a locker room and make a docuseries. He would be profiting off of an NHL team in a way management and ownership would likely not be comfortable with. The NHL wants to promote players through their talent and skill on the ice not through a camera lens, after all they have their own cameramen. They also would have no control over what he filmed or shows on KZbin. And honestly when you’re in the professional leagues you should only come to practice and game day with one thing on mind and that’s to perform on ice, not to film. At least in the NHL that should be the standard.
@Krrish852 ай бұрын
@@Mellotron63 Yeah, he was filming practice with Rocket Laval and got told not to do that. So I definitely think the team will have an issue with that. It adds an extra layer of nuisance for the management.
