WHY Teenagers SHOULD NOT GET TATTOOS

Are you a minor, teenager or young adult that is thinking about getting a tattoo? Then you definitely need to watch this video. I know when we are young, we tend to want tattoos because they seem cool, sexy, or we want to rebel. I am guilty of many of these reasons as well. I got a few tattoos at a young age that I currently regret. In this video I use statistics found off the internet to back my points but ultimately use my own personal experiences to go over all the reasons why minors, teenagers and young adults SHOULD NOT get tattoos. I list the many reasons why adults today regret the tattoos they got when they were younger, things that you should avoid doing, certain tattoos you should avoid getting, and ultimately giving tips on what to do if you really want that tattoo.

Started with tattoo's at 36. Thought of them earlier in life, but, never got them. Got a tattoo for my wife. And soon a wolf tattoo for my deceased brother. He died back in 2002. He always had wolf stuff: custom made by my mom wolf curtains and bed comforters, tshirts, etc.. A few years after he died, she put a cement wolf on his grave. Looks nothing like the normal wolf tattoos; I would only get custom work. I can say, if I had started getting tattoo's in my teens or twenties... who knows what I would have on me now... It wouldn't be good that's for sure.

I love all my tattoos. The ting about tattoos is that no one has to approve of your tattoo for it to be cool, once you are happy with the work that's all that matters . Another ting is , yes i know you'll will want a well done tattoo but your tattoos don't have to be perfect either, some of d simplest tattoos can mean so much to the person . But really good advice, you have to understand that we don't stay the same age forever. We do grow older and when you are older some of your tattoos may be questionable, so it is important to sit on it a bit. But always get what you want don't ever let someone choose a tattoo for you . Not even the artiste 🤷🏿‍♂️. They can tweak it a bit but never allow them to completely change your mind .

When I was 17, my boyfriend explained me how to do stick and poke tattoos...well, I got both of my ankles tattoed like that, I got a question mark, two runes and the formula for mdma...even if they're kinda ugly, and of course if I could go back in time I'd definitely don't do them anymore, now they kinda remind me of who I was, the mistakes I made, and, like my scars, they're part of my story. I got my tattoo at 18 or 19. It is a quote from the movie "Sixth Sense". It says "Out of the depths, I cry to you O'Lord" in Latin. I did my research on the Latin where I googled and went to a library to make sure it was translated correctly. I am 21 now and still love it. It's not a big quote. It's smallish in typewriter print. To this day, I have not once regretted getting it. I want to get another one that extends from that first quote where it signifies coming from the depths to finally growing out of it.

I’m 19 I just got my first tattoo this last weekend ! Spent 3k on a half sleeve but I am more than happy w the decision I made! Everyone judged me because of how much I was paying when they pay $60 for a tattoo.. my best advice would be don’t be afraid to splurge on a tattoo especially one you’ve been sitting on for a while and are still in love with. I would also recommend looking at multiple different artists and looking for one that has the right style for the tattoo you’re looking to get and make sure that you like at the least 90% of their work that they’ve done in the past!

So I got my first tattoo when I was 20! I was super excited and I did exactly what you basically just said in this video. I’ve been working since I was 18 and I always knew I wanted to get some ink. The time came when I decided to get it done and I had already been saving up for a few months kuz like you said good tattoos aren’t cheap AT ALL! And i forsure knew that and I wasn’t about to be like other kids my age and get the cheapest one just kuz. A tattoo is like a permanent investment and if I’m gunna invest in something like that I figured it might as well be very well done and detailed. The research of artists part was pretty easy for me. I too also know that there’s many different artists for different things but luckily the piece that I wanted which is a angry lion with a rose was something that I knew was in the field of what my dads friend specialized in which is realism. He did a sick full sleeve on my dad about 10 years back and I saw how detail oriented he was in his craft and that full piece cost my dad about $1,000 so yeah it wasn’t cheap but like you said you get what you pay for so you can only imagine how well that came out. So going in to get mine which is on the outside part of my forearm he told me it would be about $450-$500 and a longer story short it came out AMAZING and I still love it til this day! I’m 23 heading towards 24 soon and I still love it so much plus it’s a big piece. And I still get many compliments on it because of how real it looks. Take @JustINKD advice y’all! Wait! Think about it and save save save! You won’t be disappointed and it will come out much better than a cheap one! And always ask yourself if you’re gunna invest in something like this why not make it look the best it can be?!

I got a similar phrase tattoed on my right biceps as soon as i turned 18 , 5 months ago . It's Memento Vivere and basically has the same meaning as memento mori . Well I loved the idea of having it on me forever and i never even thought that i would regret it.... but boy was i wrong. I regretted that shit as soon as i stepped out the tattoo shop. Hands down the worst feeling i've ever felt in my life. I still feel horrible and depressed even after 5 months and I had to see a psychiatrist and get on antidepressants cuz i can't forgive myself for what i've done.And it's not even a bad tattoo I just dont want it on me simple as that. So please please please don't rush it , let the idea sit for at least a few more years because once you get something tatted, it stays on you forever and you have to take that shit to the grave with you...

I’m 17 but I wanted this tattoo for 3 years now and I am going to get it this summer. My grandmothers was an artist and I want to get a lighthouse (half sleeve) that she painted onto the door of her house and it’s been there before I was even born so it’s something that I have engraved into my head because my grandparents house was my home away from home. I just turned 18 and getting a tattoo is the only thing in my life that I get to control as a legal adult. I’m not allowed to go out past 9, not allowed to have sleepovers and not allowed to hang out with any male besides my gay best friend. It’s nice knowing that I can Atleast do one thing without my parents being able to stop it. I’m gonna get my first tattoo in august of the throne icon from bring me the horizons song and the lyrics that made me wanna get it are ~every wound will shape me, every scar will build my throne~ it’s not only for this but also because it’s the first song I was ever introduced to by them and their songs got me through a lot of very rough spots in my life and I’d say they helped shape me as a persons . I’ve been a fan of them for over 7 years now and It would make me so happy to have them on my body forever, as a reminder that they gave me that support that I never had in my teenage years and gave me the strength to keep going no matter who hurt me.

My first tat was for my 18th birthday. My parents gave me time to think about what i wanted and talked to me about it so we both understand exactly why i wanted what i did. Im super happy with the way it turned out but i want to add some advice of my own before i get too far into the video. Obviously this doesnt always have to be the case but to help make sure it isnt something you're going to regret later, pick something that has personal meaning to you. Mine was a Phoenix in the shape of a spade with the wings pointed up. Im not going too much into the story behind it but i know that this is something im always going to be proud to wear. If it helps at all think of the stories of the pheonix. Its born it ages and dies going up in flames and from the ashes rises a new pheonix. As for the shape, the spade, if anyone has ever played the card game spades (a personal favorite) then you already know. If you hold the spades you control the game

I'm 16 and want to get a small tattoo of the Anbu logo from Naruto. It may sound stupid but Naruto has genuinely helped shape me and make me the person I am today. I was bullied for most of my young childhood other than 1 person who I was close to. When I was 9 he showed me Naruto which just made my bond with him even tighter. After watching Naruto, I got into other anime and Japanese culture in general and started talking to people online with the same interests. Even after he had to move away, we still talk and we talk about the new anime that we've watched sometimes. He is basically a brother to me and I love him like one. Thanks to me liking anime though, I have met one of my closest friends who has introduced me to like-minded people and people who actually care for me and care about what I love. People who are different, with personalities and good motivations, strong people who I can call friends. Anime has helped me through tough times like when my cousin was in hospital because of cancer and sadly died at the age of four because of it. It helped form me as a person and helped me learn what is an isn't important to me as well as showing me that things change with time, both good and bad. It showed me that there are good people out there or even just good people around me that I never knew about because I was scared to talk to people out of fear of being shut down in some way. It's a simple flame that will carry alot of memories with it.

Man this is so true. My brother, as soon as he turned 18m, got a tattoo. It was a should panel. 10 years later, although he doesn't regret it, he wishes he would of waited so it could of been a cohesive piece. I didn't get my first tattoo till I was 26 and it was a 3/4 sleeve. I had so many terrible ideas for tattoos as an emerging adult... thankfully... I never went through with them. Take your time, usually my tattoos come after months of consideration and eventually culminate into "oh yah that's what I'm doing". Then I do it... So far it's worked for me. I don't regret any of mine.

I’m 33 and just got my first tattoo. It’s one I’ve been sitting on (along with others) for years. I have battled with chronic depression and anxiety since I was a child due to various situations. During that time, I often thought about ending my own life because people who I thought I could trust (who weren’t my family) just ignored the situations or pushed it aside as nothing too concerning. My family and close friends were part of my reason to keep fighting. I got the semi colon with a butterfly as a constant reminder that I am still here. I could have ended my sentence at any given moment, but I chose to keep it going. Definitely one I won’t regret.
