Hello Chris, thank your for sharing your valuable input on this vehicle. Must say it is on my list of considerations but a hesitation comes from Volvo approach to sell mostly the design and safety and do not care much about back seats passenger comfort. You do not seem be much interested in this area but still could share an opinion. What is my criticism for Volvo is the lack of rear seat inclination adjustment, small door pockets (front and rear) and lack of sunshades at rear doors (even as an option! ). Premium again means less for more!

This car is sick. Wow. We couldn't have 22 inch rims in the states. The roads are just too torn up and bumpy. 19 inch would be the best solution. As you present this, this is the best Volvo SUV. xc40 isn't bad at all, but not as refined. xc60, maybe because it came after the xc90 has more refinement to its design and execution.

Hi Kris, you mention the car is tighter than xc90 but it is more comfortable on bad mountain roads. how is that? there are many pot holes in my town and a good comfort suspension is highly important to me. also, I was wondering which cabin is more quiet road noise and wind noise wise.. How's the ride on the 22" vs 20"? Bigger rims usually translate into a harder.

imo you only notice it on really sharp impacts and on bad roads. The suspension does a great job smoothing out the ride!

Having an CX90 Inscription on steel [and rear plastic] suspension, I can't complain about body control at all. Maybe air suspension is a bit looser? Must say that after 10,000 miles of use, I'm convinced that the front suspension has become more compliant and less prone to sharp shocks from potholes and similar. Can't say that I'm a fan of ultra low profile and expensive wheel/tyre combinations that look as if only a thin bead of rubber surrounds the wheel rims. Sorry, that's for low-riding high performance sports cars that are used as weekend toys rather than serious cars and SUV's, or even crossovers. The new Volvo ranges are all super stylish and the XC90 is my favourite car ever, and I've had a few believe me. When I change, if I change, it might well be to the more compact XC60. Hopefully to a diesel-electric hybrid.

the question is how is the ride quality lol. noise is affected by tires. id slap on some all seasons to make it quieter, this t5 or even the t6 dont need summer tires lol which comes with the 22s.

very nice XC60. Ive been watching this XC60 High end car since 2017, and its my dream car.. The problems is that if I had this car in my country, I probably by one of the fewest of this XC60Volvo in the Philippines.. Its actually a pretty easy way for a target from your enemy, hehe.. and its pretty elusive to drive this in landtrip and country road, but its too hot for those people who looked at it. #its give me paranoia.

wasabi9111 agree it’s also the below par Scorpio Verde tires and 21/ 22 inch wheels with low profile tires that do no favors for inside noise. A BMW with upsized wheels could be as noisy...( not sure if 22” is even an option)

The sports seats are marginally harder, but offer more support. I like them both a lot, not sure I could choose.

T5 is slow for me, I got a XC60 T6 and upgraded with Polestar package. still feel a tiny lag in the beginning when I floor the pedal. Volvo almost made a sports SUV man~almost

Of course, 19s are better for winter driving, for comfort and for keeping the tyre noise low. However, they (even the 20s) look pretty small on this car. The 22s make this car a different animal, way more brawny and upmarket looking. Apart from that, I guess people will not drive the 22s in winter but switch to smaller winter tyres.
