27. But raised around old timers and legit bikers...like club members. Indian larry was an inspiration as a kid. Jesse James was cool but don't agree with some shit he's done. I like sports bikes too. But many of them are over kill for anything beyond a track toy or canyon carving. Some Harleys are pretty whippy bikes stock. So I kinda see both sides. I also like triumphs and shit like that. Kinda wish harley would do some minimal work to building the engines up and some weight reduction. Give em a more chopper feel ride wise in the sense of lighter more power low end grunt but can Rev out a little bit. They drive more like a truck made for long hauling. And yeah I've driven bikes without my license on private property. Still dumb but I was young and wouldn't recommend it. But yeah Harleys do have history. But you can also build a cheap bike that's more history type ride then most Harleys. Buy a replica older engine. After market soft tail frame. Put a 5 or 6 speed and gear it right. Even with mostly stock frame geo just keep the bike simple and they end up a little sportier. And you can get a more vintage vibed bike that runs like an old one new. Just for reference though my dream bike is soft tail ape hangers at shoulder height medium wide rear end no extra rake a knuckle head a 6 speed bit of extra power maybe water cooled for reliability. Some people really dislike Harleys cause you do get a price tax for the name. However at least for the full touring bikes. Metric bikes usually don't look as good so glides I understand a price increase. Everything else though it's hard for many to justify. Ducati can be the same way though.

@Loran Kowallis I have not had the luxury of the time to do a long distance multiday ride yet. but I have racked up many many miles in a day exploring unfamiliar areas or hunting for twisty mountain roads all over socal. I have nothing against a bike being comfortable and functional, but the stereotypical person who complains when Harley changes something is a 50-65 year old on their 2nd or 3rd bagger who wants to be able to buy the same bike until the day they die, these are not the people the V-rod, fatbob, and FXDR are meant for. that is ok, but that doesn't mean Harley should only make the same 5 bikes for eternity. HD is in trouble if they cant expand their market, and that means tapping into new riders who don't like the current catalog. 3 dollars a day huh, guess retail price has nothing to do with designing things to be easier, faster, or cheaper to manufacture then huh... Harley is not currently price competitive, period.

First, the thing to LOVE about the Fatbob isn't it's headlight, altho' it's cool. 2014 owner here with the dual headlight. But it's handling because of the beefed up suspension, 44mm tubes instead of 33mm, it's wider tires front and rear, dual front brakes and changed fork geometry for handling. Another thing, Harley specifically designed those tires for that bike, and they're great WHEN NEW, but... they get choppy with use and grab funny under heavy braking and hard turning. Check forums... most people don't replace them with the same rubber. Yeah, the headlight is cool, and the rear part of the seat comes off really easily to make it a solo, just move the hold down tab to the front part, but if you're really trying to sell this bike, it's handling is the right thing to push. Harley specifically tuned it for the bendies and it shows when ridden hard. I hit my primary cover leaning into a turn. Sorry to say, it didn't end well. Bike lifted and no control it went straight, but... that was my mistake. I've since added foot pegs with the lean indicators that spark when you lay it over to far. I did leave that scarred primary on it tho' For the baggers... baggers, baggers everywhere... baggers, baggers, I do not care...

I stayed up all night worrying that someone had already gotten it. I showed up at the dealership before it opened. I got the bike. I love it. The torque is sick man. Red and black with the bronze pipe covers. I love everything about it. It’s aggressive!!! Everybody loves it. I’ve got a custom 2015 CVO STREET GLIDE and a custom 2020 Sportster XL Iron and I feel guilty for giving this Fat Bob more attention than the others. This Fat Bob is dope. If you hate it something is wrong with you… Did I mention it’s twin cooled and has the IBS system?

I bought a 23 fat bob not long ago and it’s the most fun I have had on 2 wheels… my first harley. I’m so impressed with how much i can actually lean this bike over in the twisties. The seat is so much more comfortable than the sports bikes i’m used to… factory cruise control. I’m not a traditional harley guy and it brought me into the company. So if the traditional harley “bros” don’t like it that’s not my problem.

The only thing that made me unhappy was that they changed the Fat Bob from a Dyna to a Softail. I had the 2011 FXDF with a 96 inch engine and it had external rear adjustable shocks. It also had a mechanical cable throttle. I loved that bike. Other than that the new Fat Bob looks like an awesome bike.

After daily riding a 2019 Fat Bob 107 for 18 months now, rain or shine, some of my take away: -Harley Purists hate it, because of the light. But that light has a 100% perfect throw and I can see everything at night. Curves, straight, ambient; you see everything. -It is 80% of a middle weight sport bike, with a cruiser riding position. Twisties are a great time, but also riding to get to them in excess of 200 miles is also fun and not tiring. -What's not so fun is filling up every 130ish miles because of the 3.3 gallon tank. It wouldn't have changed the look to add another gallon in there. -The stock tires aren't the smoothest riding, but they are fine for warm, dry weather. Cooler or wet roads, you'll want to get a different set like the Bridgestone Exedra Max's - The 107 is great and has plenty of power, but if I had to do it over, I would have got the 114. Not for the engine but for the ABS that didn't come on the 107's. Harley brainstorming at its finest. -Overall, comfort, drivability, maintenance and pleasure all make it a great daily rider. You have slightly less comforts than a Street Glide, but more enjoyability off the straight and narrow Purists may hate it and the new designs Harley is coming out with, but those 'core' customers aren't paying the bills after purchasing 1 bike every 10-15 years. This bike is the ONLY reason I walked into a Harley Dealer, and would be the only reason I would return should something happen to mine. Gut tells me if Harley wants to survive they'll need more like me to fill in that large time gap.

Love this bike and thats why I bought it. Geographic location plays a big factor in purchase choices as well. I like Harley but also came from a 2003 CBR600F4I. I like bikes but my recent purchase of that Fatbob was due to being on the east coast, having a significant other who enjoys riding, and having a special place in my heart for Harley. I have always been drawn to the American Icon, however this bike is modern, handles exceptionally well for a cruiser, and is very quick. Max speed limit I have seen here on the East Coast NC area is 70mph. If I lived out west, Colorado, California, Utah where speed limits are 80+ and roads allow for much higher speeds I probably would have went with a Hayabusa or ZX12. However here in the east coast there is no need for that much power and capability. If I want to visit the track I always have the CBR with many mods. Nice video!

I love the overall stance of this bike too. Big 114 engine - YES. The narrower tank is great, glad to see some change there. The big headlight is modern and cool. The old style dash & speedometer though is WAY over due for change. Your gran'pa had a dash panel like that. And those big blob orange turn signals hanging off the handlebars look like severely heavy Christmas tree ornaments. Get serious Harley, those front turn signals were never a good idea. They look like an 'after thought' and really need changing. Rear turn signals are much better, although they stick out about an inch too far. So there are some changes that could make this a much better looking bike.

Only own a KLR , I'm liking this bike is there any difference between it and the new sportster
@DeltaBird22692 жыл бұрын
@@karlmcnichols6125 not sure, haven’t gotten to ride the new sportster. But the fat Bob has a larger engine with a lower rev range, so it has very good torque, but it’s also roughly 100 lbs heavier than the sportster. With the 1200 on the sportster and a higher rev range, it produces more hp and has a little less torque than the fat Bob, but because it’s lighter, the ratio would almost feel the same I would think. That’s all I can give ya haha if you like the looks of the fat Bob, then go with it because there isn’t much for a wide variety of customization unless you’re willing to chop and fabricate some stuff, the most I’ve done is buy the club style headlight from Original Garage and changed the exhaust to a Bassani Road Rage III 2-in-1, and I have had a stage 1 upgrade done to it.
@DeltaBird22692 жыл бұрын
@@karlmcnichols6125 but try to test ride both if you can and feel for yourself. I will say the fat Bob does this weird thing in turns where it almost wants to stand up on itself if you aren’t in the right angle haha idk if it’s because of the large front tire or what. Also, my personal opinion, I’ve always liked the look of the 2008 HD Crossbones, and I like to think the fat Bob is a direct descendant of it, minus the springer fork of course.

A modern motorcycle needs to not leak oil or breakdown constantly so I welcome the new bikes new everything. The US needs to make bikes that are the same quality that Japan puts out! When i arrived, there was no pain. Seat is amazing, acceleration is amazing. Of course there are couple of complains but i think they are normal and well known. As it is naked bike wind can be problem and fuel tank is little bit small like 300km per tank , so if you go to long road, it is pushing you to plan different routes.

Huh, just stumbled across this. I've been riding bikes of all makes 1981. I actually rode one of these the other day, used '22 with 1,400 miles on it. That 114 engine is TORQUE! It accelerates, turns, brakes and shifts nicely. The only thing that will stop me from buying one is the small gas tank. I can take or leave the headlight. I am currently riding an 08 Fat Bob and it's anemic compared to this new model. What I'm saying is I really don't give a crap if "bikers" don't like this bike, or the old one. What your particular preference in styling is doesn't determine if you are a biker. If it still had a 5 gallon tank I'd probably be out of $15K now. I also like the Fat Boy and may end up on one.
