I honestly am really excited to see this rendition of batman/Bruce Wayne and Alfred, having Bruce be a regular construction worker who's not rich is honestly some of the most refreshing take I've heard on the character, I know he's lost his riches in the past but I think it's gonna be really interesting to see what a batman who is poor from the start will be like, I'd have to imagine he's gonna be even more brutal

Hmm. Things have changed a lot recently. DC has to compete with Shonen Jump Manga, Ultimate Spider-Man, Ghost Machine, Todd Mcfarlane 's Spawniverse, Rippaverse , Indegogo's ,Kickstarter 's and all the new indie publishers. They have to think of something to get new readers or old readers back to their brand. Btw... Hulk failed, X-Men failed and Valiant Comics failed. They all came back though.

You're right though. The whole reason why the new Ultimate Spider-Man is selling well is because it's a love letter to peter parker while the 616 one is replaced by miles and cucked by paul. This misses the point. Refine them. Make them more accessible. Easier to understand without a huge continuity.

Why do comic writers think of doing multiverses? It legit piss me off sometimes, sure you get new take on different characters or even new characters. The end of the day I think they just doing it for the money, to me it just lazy writing, even I like new 52 but there so much universe. The fact those universes are so big, make one to want amnesia.
