That, and I think people really wanna see Red Hood over Nightwing in the future because he's very DC's Punisher. I would love it if Dick was added to the Reeves Batman sequel. Dick is my favorite character in all of DC Comics and it's really frustrating that he's rarely put in the live-action movies. I liked the Christopher Nolan movies but having Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character made to be "Robin" at the very end of the trilogy was incredibly weak in my opinion. I know there's a fine line with how old Dick could be when he first becomes Robin. In some versions he's as young as nine but having him be nine in live-action would be kind of problematic because of child endangerment. But if he's too old, like being in his 20s in the Joel Schumacher movies, it kind of takes away the father/son dynamic that he has with Bruce. I think Dick being around 15 would be the best age in live-action. I can only hope Reeves' sequel will do him justice if he's put in it.

I've been saying since the film released that Batman: Year Three is the most logical comic to adapt next not just because of the first film taking place Year Two but because the comic talks about Zucco being an Orphanage during his early years after his father is killed by debt collectors before leaving and working under the mob. this could tie in perfectly with Riddler's film origins at the Martha Wayne Orphanage leaving an at the time 13-14 year old Zucco 2-3 years older than Riddler and just old enough to be a somebody in Gotham around the time of Maroni's arrest and Falcone's rise to power probably causing him and other low-level gangsters to go into hiding. With the death of Falcone and the city being destroyed with a need to be rebuilt (which I honestly don't think the next movie will be in a flooded Gotham, i'm sure they'll have a timeskip to when it's fixed) around the time of the sequel is the opportune moment for the lower families of Gotham to fight for the place of king. part of that war to win Gotham would be the death of the Grayson's leading to Dick's introduction.
@damiantirado96162 жыл бұрын

Robert said hed only do robin if he was 13. And i 100 percent agree. The way id go about it is one of two ways. One being the kid of the ex-mayor was named Dick, and his wifes maiden name was Grayson and they switched or some crap. Or the one i personally think is just a bit better. Howver my overall story is the same regardless of the origin. Robin was already an orphan, and maybe his orphanage flooded when Riddler blew the waterwall. He's living in the streets, and hates criminals because their corruption was the reason he is where he is. Somehow, Bruce stumbles upon him. And heres where the kicker is. Hes seen what happens when an orphan is left with this rage, in the Riddler, in himself. He knows the sick and twisted mind anger can breed. So he trains Dick to use it. Rather than kill those he deems responsible for his own life, he should use it to protect more boys like him. That Batman no longer stands for vengeance, but hope. Hope for the people. Hope that there is a future for Gotham free of the corruption, the pain. Hope for a future where no kid will drown themselves in pain and get lost in the rabbit hole of hate and despair. So that no child falls to their knees in tears knowing that no one will save them. He saves Dick from this path to save more of these kids. To save them all. He will bring the "rats" into the light. All of them. He will clutch their hand out of the rubble of the flood and carry them out to the new dawn of light and hope. That is what The Batman now stands for. Hope.

And Dick saying to bring him in the police, Batman was ready to become a killer for this boy but when he realised that this boy was nothing like him he felt proud because all of his life thinking vengeance is the only way to save the people .

Grayson is a brilliant fit, and this video was a brilliant exploration. In particular for the Bat Family, the development of Grayson into an adult, and his ups and downs with Bruce, as well as, his life long on-off love story with Barbara shows that Bruce has succeeded in growing something positive and new from the darkness of his own grief. I enjoyed the movie, and i think this explores a great direction to take the Batman.

the year is 2012, you have traveled back in time without realizing it. you tell a hardcore batman fan that robin would be a perfect edition for a character in the upcoming batman film. he gets angry and curses you out, saying how robin is a silly, goofy, and clumsy character that does nothing but get in batman's way the year is 2022, you have traveled back to the present. you tell that same batman fan that robin would be perfect for a character in the upcoming batman film. he thinks about it for a second and shrugs. saying he doesn't really care, although it would be nice to see robin on the big screen again

Thank god I’m not the only one he’s important. The reason why he’s so angry in his earlier years is because he doesn’t have a partner/someone he can emotionally connect to, therefore he feels that he has nothing to lose. That’s why Snyders Batman is so violent, because his son is dead.

I think Grayson should be introduced late film in the sequel and is then Robin for the entirety of the third. Like maybe the climax of the next film is Freeze and Penguin teaming up, and their plan results in Dick's tragic backstory. I hope it's flying Grayson related btw.

Your review of the movie makes me want to see it. And like the other comments I would love to see Dick Grayson there. He's full of anger at first but underneath it is a young boy full of hope and happiness. Them being together and Dick overcoming is anger and then becoming the happy child he is will help Batman grow. It will also give the people of Gotham more trust towards Batman and hope. It'll also give Batman someone to relate to and someone he doesn't have to hide things from.

I honestly wasn't as big of a fan of The Batman as many but I do think that if the sequel wants to be more investing it does need to introduce Robin in the form of Dick. People are ready for a Batman and Robin story, not just the same old Joker vs Batman phase which I feel we've been put into for too long. Exactly what you said. Dick is a symbol of everything Bruce can't be but is inspired to try and might be. I also feel Dick as Batman with Damien as Robin in a film would eventually change the game.

As for death in the family, I think that the main issue with having your FIRST Robin die, is that you're essentially killing off the mantle and the concept entirely. I think people want it because of how gritty and realistic it is for a kid vigilante to end up dead, but that's also the downside to it. It's not the same to kill off a Robin when you already have a successful one that makes it a 50/50 chance, compared to killing your one and only Robin. The journey from sidekick to hero/vigilante is possible because Dick lived, the legacy of Robin continues because Dick Grayson is a success story in spite of Batman's failure to save Jason. So you NEED a successful Robin in the equation to sell the idea. People already question the child sidekicks as it is. If you kill the first Robin in universe, you're essentially supporting the notion that it's not possible and renouncing the possibility of trying again. Because it would be even more questionable to put ANOTHER child in risk when you have no success story to balance out the tragic one.

Superheroe movies nowadays are very used to not bothering with the origin of mainstays like spiderman or in this case batman, so if a robin would appear in the second film, (which would probably be themed around hope for something) then I can see them skipping Dick’s origin too. Which I think is for the better because not explaining something everyone knows with Batman’s origin was a great time save for a film that was 3 hours long.

The only way Robin's introduction would be make sense if Dick Grayson tried to mimic Batman's activities as a vigilante on his own as a kid. Batman would find out and ask him to join him so he can keep an eye on him and guide him. There is so way someone in real life would try to recruit a young boy to keep criminality in check. I cant see any other way but this for Dick Grayson to be introduced.

You do know that Dick went out to find his parents' killer in the comics without Batman right? Grayson is a character who most definitely would have ended up in the costumed hero world regardless of Bruce. He had a great disciplined amount of training, he had the drive to stop others from sharing his fate.

If I was Matt Reeves this is is how I'd incorporate Dick Grayson/Robin in The Batman universe. Dick Grayson is an orphan having witnessed his parents deaths at a Circus held in the city & at the age of nine he has been living on the street of Gotham, Four years after that he ends up becoming an ally of the vigilante The Batman. Bruce Wayne takes in the youngster but unknown to Bruce that this teenager is the new other vigilante in the city known as the boy wonder who had been helping The Caped Crusader

Hear me out: If they are going to give him a mask like Batman's for protection while keeping it true to the comics, they should have fake hair attached to the helmet. It is in Dick's character to make the costume at least a little stylish.

I think Jason is more 'batman solo movie' worthy because he has a dramatic arc and gives a big amount of trauma to Batman while Dick's one is more... growing up, slow paced... to see the results he does to Bruce it should take time. So I need a Robin movie for sure

If there's gonna be a Robin then I want Jason to be him as his character would play very well on Pattisnon's Batman as his morals and Ideals as the Red Hood or an angsty, unhinged and violent teen would resemble his original state as "Vengeance" Or directly juxtaposes him. The Joker could kill him sparking a rivalry when he's revived as he's been wronged leading to a hush storyline meets under the Red Hood where he teams up with the riddler and Hush and reveals his identity and his tactics and ideology leaving him a step behind or forcing him to become something his not proving Jason's point that's he's no better than the Crime he fights and the Red Hodds means are the only way forward. As he combats the crime in Gotham through violence and intimidation ultimately trying to be the biggest crime boss in Gotham getting Batman's attention and making him choose between Himself (Jason) or Joker seeing if he'd right his wrongs and see how Red Hood is one of his sins Making "the Sins of the farther" plot become full circle.

@@CRISIS_COMICS Yeah i guess, can't argue with that as it makes sense chronologically. @CRISIS_COMICS2 жыл бұрын
@@mbphilipblack8993 Dick isn’t really any less grounded than Jason; unless you mean he’s more tragic which isn’t really the theme of The Batman. Grayson has as well nearly died and has more emotional confrontations with Bruce besides Death in the Family and Under the Red Hood; way more history.
@alondraperez-ramirez83632 жыл бұрын
I would love to see Jason Todd on live action but Grayson has to come first. Without the 1st Robin Jason has nothing to compare himself to; no 'Goldie' for him to feel inadequate in comparison to. Plus there's a lot of potential in writing Dick confronted with Jason since each of them have a series of insecurities the other triggers with events like Jason being adopted whereas Dick was only a ward or how Jason gets compared to Dick even by villains that would be great to explore and set them up resolving these struggles and becoming brothers just in time for the tragedy to set in. They could even make a Revenge Of The Sith type of farewell for them seeing as Dick was in space when Jason died so one can easily write some brotherly teasing and a 'Love you, see you soon' type of goodbye that neither of them realize will be the last time they see each other before Jason gets killed. Batsibling dynamics in general are a fascinating topic that live action movies haven't explored so starting with these two is a good potential stepping stone.

I always thought Batman is the knight, the protector of what’s already there, but Robin is the light that helps people out of the darkness. Since that was the theme in The Batman, it only makes since to bring in an actual light. Plus Bruce didn’t smile once in the movie. How about they bring in a goofy, yet lovable child to get him to smile.
