As a fellow R5 user I would love to see videos comparing the two. Video test cam A vs B. Different modes, color grades, etc. As I do a lot of wildlife photography I would also love to know how does the AF work for wildlife compared to the R5. Tracking, subject detection, stickyness, resolution, etc. I am thinking of adding the R50 to my R5 down the road, therefore this would be super helpful to me.

How about a quick comparison video between R50 and M50 Mark ii as most of the beginners might be looking at these 2 cameras
@BienConectado10 ай бұрын
Hey man, Do you think this camera would work as a Podcast camera? Would like to put it about 6 ft away from me just so its not too close to me. Do you think by doing that, the shot would look good since I may zoom in?
@RexxReviews10 ай бұрын
Depending on the lens you are using yes it should work fine. Ive been using the Sigma 18-35 lens which is closer to about 28.8-56mm on this camera for my more recent videos and my camera is about 6f from me. That lens gives me alot of options in terms of being able to zoom in an out while also giving me a 1.8 aperture. I would not recommend buying one new as you can find them at around $450-500 second hand.

Great video! Subbed. Can I ask how far are you from the camera? I'm thinking of getting the R50 + either 16mm or 24mm, but would like to know how far you are from the camera to get that framed shot. I have found it more difficult to determine distance given this is a cropped sensor. Thanks!!
@RexxReviews Жыл бұрын
I am using the RF 16 2.8 and roughly 3 1/2 feet from the cameras. The 16mm on the R50 is roughly 24mm actual.

I would love to know what it is like in low light conditions. Thanks for the info I am in the market for a camera and think this is the one for me. 😄
@RexxReviews Жыл бұрын
How low light are you talking ? Also photo or video ? The darkest I’ve shot in so far is my office and there are some places in the background that tend to get fairly dark even with my R5 and I didn’t seem to see any issues. I’ve been running the iso at 800. A lot of that is going to depend on the lens. If I put my 85 1.2 lens on it the low light capabilities are probably going to be pretty damn good. It’s essentially using the same exact sensor is the canon R10 and most of the same software so whatever that can do in low light this is going to match pretty damn close.

I'm surprised it can't run off of USB power. My older RF cameras only charge on usb-c power delivery, maybe that's your issue?

@RexxReviews11 ай бұрын
No. You can use EF lenses with an adapter. You can't use EOSM lenses on the R50 at all. Unfortunately Cannon has abandoned the M platform.

Thanks for the vídeo. Choose between Nikon Z3, Sony EV-10, Canon R10 and Canon R50. Although I confess, the Nikon Z3 attracts me more for being Weather Sealed. What do you think?
@RexxReviews Жыл бұрын
Some of this comes down to what you are doing with the camera. While the R50 , EV10 and z30 will take good photos when you need them too I feel they were marketed more towards vlogging and content creation cameras. I am personally not a big Nikon fan so the question at that point is how often will you be vlogging in the rain? As far as the R10 its essentially a larger R50 with a few more features. I would say the R50/R10 or the Sony would both be equally good choices, some of it will come down to what brand you think you may want to be with long term as most of the lenses you buy for either will also work on the higher end versions of the cameras for each brand.
@shotbymarlozan Жыл бұрын
@@RexxReviews Thanks for your time and help. Basically, what I'm looking for is taking pictures of rain environment. You get good pictures. Obviously, it is not in continuous rain, a few drops here and there. Maybe after heavy rain and still a gentle breeze. What you say is true, then between Canon R10, R50 and ZV-E10, what would be a good option for first photos and videos like Unboxing? Eventually, do vlogs. But I think the video will be more for unboxing and product presentation. Update: The Canon R50 is at $ 799 on Amazon. The R10 is at $ 899.🤔

Is this an upgrade over eosm200....? Like low light capability, selection of lenses compared to m mount lens
@RexxReviews Жыл бұрын
Yes to everything. The M6 Mark two was an upgrade to the M 200 and this camera is much better than that. I owned both the M 200 and the M6 MK2 for quite a while. There are way more RF lenses then M lenses and you can still use an adapter to use EF lenses. M platform is done at this point. Canon proved with announcing a less than $500 RF mount body , the R100 that they have zero intentions of doing anything else with M series cameras.

@RexxReviews Жыл бұрын
With the EF to RF mount yes. This is the same as every other RF mount and the adapter works the exact same.

The biggest downside for me was the cost for the lenses. This camera don't have a lot of choice on that side.
@RexxReviews Жыл бұрын
Currently you can get the 50mm 1.8 for around $160, the 16mm 2.8 for $249, 35mm 1.8 $399, 24mm 1.8 $499 85mm F2 $549, RF15-30mm F4.5-6.3 $499, RF100-400mm F5.6-8 $549. These are all under $600 lenses and native to RF. What were you looking for exactly? This is not counting all of the EF lenses that will work on an adapter for this unit.

Don’t stress over R mount lenses!! You can always buy an adapter for EF/EFS lenses. Mieke has one for like $100. EF/EFS lenses are WAY cheaper than R mount lenses. I bought 3 EF lenses for the equivalent of 1 R mount lens. Since they’re canon lenses, the AF works perfectly. There’s no downside to going with older lenses. R mount lenses are great but canon fucked up by not letting 3rd parties make them too. That’s why Sony is ahead. Sony lets anyone make 3rd party lenses for their A mount cameras. That’s really the only, cheap work around this issue.

I subscribed to your channel. What is the best lens for the r50 in a small room to make videos like I do.😎👍
@RexxReviews Жыл бұрын
The lens I used for this video was the RF 16mm 2.8, it gives roughly a 24mm field of view and is less than $300. For anything wider than that you would probably have to look to an older EF lens that’s somewhere between 10 and 16 mm and using adapter on it And can get kind of pricey.
