I do hold algerian passport in addition to german and swiss passports. During Corona i was so thankful i had that algerian passport, i left Europe and its paranoiac restrictions and spent 10 months in Algeria enjoying sea sun beaches as everything was open there with zero restrictions...that is to say having a "3rd world" country passport can be really a huuuuge asset !

I wish Algeria would simplify its tourist visa restrictions. I'd love to pop by and have a look, but the effort required always puts it to the back of the list.

You are right, the country is unfortunately still quite reluctant to tourism, but those who make it there enjoy a lot the hospitality as they find themselves being the only tourists there. I heard they will issue an e-visa to visit the southern part but I am not sure by when ..

You’re welcome. Pre-existing propeties yes. But not properties that you already happen to own. It must be new incoming investment into the country. As for the valuation, I don’t known feel free to ask Hany.

few questions: can I combine buying a condominium and build a bnb appartment for a total of a little more than $300,000? if a person/investor had already 2 citizenship/passport, can that be register/apply both for their egyptian cbi?

You can buy multiple properties and can already have multiple citizenship. Construction costs do not count towards the $300k though

In regards to confidentiality of nationality/passport I am wondering how this works in reality? If you fly to Egypt from your home country and use your home country passport to depart, enter egypt use Egypt passport stamped in and out, return to home country and there has been no stamps in any other countries, won't this raise questions? Just like exchange of information with tax jurisdictions I thought there would be similar with immigration where they can see where you have been in the past?

Confidentiality of information is different from you getting busted back home because of logistical issues. There isn’t any CRS type agreement for documentation. Within the EU would be the exception.

How the capital gains are taxed for non residents ? Because if we rely only on capital gains and we need to pay 50% on it it’s less interesting

Typically it’s 22.5 % of the capital gains. But there is some ambiguity in interpretation.

Lower the price to $75,000 US Dollars because of limited visa-free access and military conscription for your son once you acquire the passport!

One of the last countries I would put my money and spend too much time. I didn't like my time there. Have to negociate everything, women are quite opressed, and the economy is a mess with islamists having a big power inside the Egyptian society. I don't see it improving for a few decades. Once oil will start to decline heavily you will be happy not betting on Arabic countries. South and South East Asia are the places to go for investments and lifestyle.
