I like the meaning behind this, but turning building lights off for 60 minutes won't do anything. We need to get up and do things if we want issues to go away. Turning lights off won't help the decreasing biodiversity, but we can.

I like the meaning behind this movement, but I think we need to do more than we say. So many people brush off climate change and global warming when they hear people talk about it, but people talk about it because it’s actually really important. Though a small group can make changes, it’s be much more efficient if there was a way to make everyone contribute towards the solution

This is something modern human will always take for granted. Maybe in future generations when people will have to wear a mask to go outside, never seen a forest or a clean ocean, exposed to cancer and wasteland will look back in history and blame us for our actions. Pretty much all countries have lighting requirements for the top of tall structures, so it would be illegal as well as dangerous to go without one on. Though compared to the rest of the lights, it only contributes to a small amount of power used as well as a very small portion of light produced.
