I don't think we missed a turn. I think the elites have been pouring fuel into the engine to see if they can break the engine, or get it to almost come off the tracks, hoping constituents will beg them to fix the problem. Our unthinking population, not realizing that the elites created and control the situation since the beginning, but want the problem solved, the chaos to stop. When their representatives don't make that happen, it cuts into their wealth, and prestige. There will come a time when the majority figures that out, breaks into the engine room, and captures the maniacal leaders, and turns the fuel off. But we aren't there yet. Folks are unwilling to think for themselves.

They want us poor you say? Glenn, when I lived in DFW, I was thrilled when you moved kit-n-kaboodle to the Dallas area. But as an apartment dweller, I could not handle the $200/month rent increases I had over the last 3 years. So I moved home to the upper Midwest, found a great apartment in a retirement community, found a job, etc. Alas, 'twas not to last. I just got my lease renewal after my first year and GUESS WHAT?! Yup, they're increasing my rent by _$100_ a month!!! $100...in a RETIREMENT community. So the people who can't fight back, and who are on fixed incomes, are having their rents raised out of PURE GREED, but hey, if you can't afford to live here, you're free to get out! Oh...and I have insurance at work, but every time I use it, I'm still expected to pay a LOT out of my own pocket. I honestly don't understand how anything works any more, but I'm at the point of being forced to work 8-5 at a job I hate, just to keep myself afloat. It's DFW all over again!!!

I am 75 but as a young girl my dad always told me never take handouts from the government. He said work for what you want and that is what I did but now days the government is pushing it big time. My grandparents came from Poland and went thru Ellis island. The government did not hand out free stuff to them they had to make it on their own. My grandmother was one smart lady she opened up a tavern and a little store and that is how they made their mark in America. Growing up in the midwest in the 60s all of my uncles had one job their whole lives and supported a wife that didn't work and each one had 5-8 children. My mother raised me by herself and had factory jobs. She bought a home, a car, clothing, furniture and went to the beauty palor regularly. I have never been able to afford anything. College educated and I've either always worked for minimum wage or barely above. Even when I was an executive secretary for NASA. $9/hr.

I'm in the service industry and I made a comment about inflation and the economy to a wealthy person and he said to me " well we need something you have money for it that's good." I was in a labor union, (had to be to work there). Our union dues went to Demoncrats without any consent. Brainless workers didn’t know Anything about the candidates but always said Demoncrats (“we’re for the workin’ man”). They got our wages up to a point where the huge company I worked for closed all our facilities and moved all to China. No severance pay at all after my 37 years there and no help getting new employment. THEN my TWO PENSIONS were bankrupt just as I qualified to get benefits. I now get around 30% of my promised benefits. Unions are NOT for working people, they are lining their pockets!

I got semi- lucky in that I was an expert at ground tracking and transportation logistics of delivery services and that transferred well going into gps mapping technology. (For a while) Once the world was digitally mapped, that career was over and everyone had Google maps, so I didn't have to translate ground knowledge into tech work anymore.

Speaking as a former working class, the issue is many working class jobs are redundant and archaic and just as corrupt and useless as some white collar and AI jobs are. Not only that but most unions are corrupt and don’t like it when people leave unions for private or entrepreneur jobs. Bottom line - You couldn’t pay me to return to a trade or blue collar job.
