Teach your kids well about addiction and its many forms not just drugs.
@s0cializedpsych0pathАй бұрын
More accurately.... teach your kids the TRUTH about drugs, so they don't rebel and consider you a liar, when they try pot, and realize it isn't the boogeyman. Neither the "drugs are harmless" nor the "the government shoyld be abpe to tell you what you're allowed to take" come from a place of ignorance and snap judgment, and have led to this problem getting so bad. If it weren't for prohibition, plus overprescribing followed by reactive underprescribing, THERE WOULD BE NO FENTANYL EPIDEMIC. Back when I was hooked on dope, we would avoid that stuff like the plague.... however, it's become very difficult to smuggle heroin, as you need WAY more... while enough fentanyl to supply a town for a week, can be fit into one's pocket, if pure. Not only that, but it's also cheaper and faster to make... so it's REPLACED heroin. Heroin is dangerous enough, but if it were pure and metered, we wouldn't habe people dropping left and right.... hell, even if the same is true about fentanyl (pure and metered), you wouldn't see all this death. It's unmetered, eyed out, dosages... and unknown purity of saod dose... not to mention xylazine contam. All problems that wouldn't exist if we had regulation, rather than prohibition. Prohibition, as evidenced by the past 55 years of the war on drugs', pathetic failure at eradicating the supply. It's a waste of money, and just plain gangsterism, on the part of our government. It isn't helping anything or anyone! It's caused nothing but suffering. Prohibition leaves purity and dosing in the hands of rabid sociopaths, heading cartels. Let's take control of it, rather than punishing the victims. It is a war. The fentanyl IS the weapon.... and we punish people, for being hit with that weapon. Why don't we instead regulate everything like booze, and then give the death penalty to people pushing illicit fentanyl on the streets. I'm all for that, if there's a legal and safe supply.... as long as it isn't prohibitively taxed. And personal use possession shouldn't be a crime.... perhaps forced rehab, when someone gets a certain number of ODs in a given period.... but those rehabs should offer IBOGAINE! That's an ACTUAL solution.... so it's schedule 1 and nearly impossible to get in this country. Instead, you can be on suboxone or methadone FOREVER.... while this stuff stops an opioid habit, in a single day, woth a single dose (some more severe addicts benefit from much smaller booster doses, in coming months... has ~90% success rate treating addiction, and has been found to regrow braincells from Alzheimer's degeneration. This is being kept from us, because there's no money in it, and because it's a real solution, that doesn't allow the drug companies to profit off your continued misery... and you aren't put in "liquid handcuffs" like with a methadone program. It cures the PTSD that drives people to use.... in one sitting. Replaces the entire addiction services industry.... which has at best, a 15% success rate the way we do it now that we're starting to leave 12-step behind, which has a 5% success rate, which is tied with NO TREATMENT AT ALL at 5%. Ibogaine..... 90 fucking % It basically resets your neurotransmitter levels, leaving you in a state, akin to where you are at around 90 days of sobriety. I've seen 10+ year fentanyl/dope addicts take it once, and to this day, won't so much as drink a cup of coffee or take an aspirin, since.

The Fentanyl on the street is not the same drug that hospitals administer. Its way more potent, often potent enough to kill with just a very tiny amount of the drug. Likewise, all opioids/opiates result in death if you overdose, regardless of your tolerance. These drugs shut down the part of your autonomic nervous system that controls your breathing. If people take too much, they simply quit breathing after they fall asleep. This is why theres so many deaths associated with fentanyl and other opioid/opiate drugs.

The bigger problem now is that you made people like me who legally , physically , need pain medication harder to get. You’ve made our doctors too afraid to treat us properly or at all or without the dose that we need in order to live normal every day lives and in return Many have turned to the streets to get what they normally would’ve gotten from their doctor. I’m not talking about those that are addicted on the streets. I’m talking about every day normal citizens who have had injuries that require legal medication monthly and until you change this, I don’t see this getting any better, and it’s only gonna get worse from here. Your war on drugs is a total and complete failure. The addicts are still dropping like flies and getting what they need while the rest of us who legally require it aren’t able to get it and taking drastic measures to get it anywhere they can. Our government has created a whole new level and generation of addicts and I’m talking about people who never would have thought to turn to the streets for a medication that they normally would, and used to get from their doctors.

If a person has real pain, the source of it can almost always be detected and corrected with surgery or other treatment options. Opiates create their own pain. They slow down body functions. A person doesn't move as much when sleeping on them. All that screws up the nerves and muscles and a pain cycle starts (which is treated with opiates, of course).
@LuisaD932 ай бұрын
@@SunriseLAW Been there done that. PT for 8 years with no help or relief. I have intractable pain caused by failed surgeries (many) due to work related accident tons of painful metal replacements that have left me disabled and nerve pain. I’ve been evaluated and reevaluated many times over by many professionals. Yes, pain meds can at times cause pain to feel worse than it is but it won’t create pain where none exists. I’ve had a period off pain meds and my quality of life left me unable to even dress myself. I’ve seen a psychiatrist for almost nearly as long for the trauma, PTSD, extreme anxiety and depression all this nightmare has caused and they even agree that people in my position live a better and more active life on pain medication. Don’t believe all the hype and propaganda they throw at people in order to order them off meds which I’m convinced that particular neatly printed newsletter was worded as such a tool to do just that. Get everyone off pain meds. I’m thoroughly invested in this topic not just as a patient but as someone who never asked for nor wanted to live my life this way. I’d do almost anything not to. I’ve spoken extensively at venues covering this very topic and I can tell you from experience that there are many like me. There is so much more to it than I can get into here but for some the pain is very real. You can’t therapy it away. You can’t use shots to make it go away, more surgery certainly isn’t the answer. Sometimes there’s just the meds. Period. After 8 years I’m still on a low dose every 6 hours and have never needed to increase or modify it so it does work. It doesn’t turn us all in raving addicts and we can live a somewhat normal life. If I sound bitter it’s because I’m angry. Angry at the Guinea pig they’ve turned me into and the pain they’ve caused then make me jump through hoops and give my first born and my eye teeth for the meds I do get while everyone else is a walking zombie getting what they want or need without a care in the world.

Easy to say. Caffeine and sugar are by far the most common addictions. Nicotine is probably third in line or alcohol. Most people who say don't use drugs are addicted to one or more drugs without even knowing it. Also most people trust their doctor to not give them lab grade herion and call them pain medication instead. Even removing illegal drugs doesn't change the opiate addiction scene as the largest supplier of opiates including herion and fentanyl is by far big drug companies. The main difference is the cartels don't tell you their products are safe. The drug companies know they aren't but lied for decades. They said only addicts get addicted. They didn't tell people after a week a person is already addicted.

this stuff is terrifying seriously terrifying ive seen some bodycams of officers going M.D.S.P (man down shit pants) just for touching the stuff with gloves on and a covid mask like nahhh even the Sinaloa Cartel called a ban to production and trafficking of fentanyl like what does that tell you this stuff should not be made unless its legit for medical reasons which I am sure the cons still most definitely outweigh the pros on fentanyl there are no real pros at least that I have managed to find or hear of in some legit medical uses yes it has its use but that is a small minute number of patients vs the sheer amount of lives it destroys daily
@Acemechanicalservices2 ай бұрын
That’s complete bullshit. It doesn’t affect anyone that just touches it with bare skin. How the hell did you actually believe touching it with gloves on would do anything? Stop being ignorant and parroting nonsense. It takes about ten seconds of research. And there are massive “pros” for fentanyl. Ever heard of an epidural? Ever heard of end of life care? How do people lace the drugs with it? If it’s a few grains of salt that’s a deadly dose, how can people test for it? Do they melt it to a liquid?
@gothmoneyroblox3 ай бұрын
It can be cut to almost a liquid form like most drugs. It just needs to be stopped period. You can test everything for it but yeah you could miss it i suppose if say you tested a pill in the wrong spot and the powder form Fentanyl is only pressed in one spot or something. Theres too much of it on the streets though and in the black market to be used to make less potent products "more" potent. Its just gotta be stopped in the drug game everywhere for the better of everyone at the face of battle in addiction in America. Its only going to get worse especially for the people already on the street. We let China sell it to us and China has mass produced and sold it to us which needs to stop.
@nicksomingenhar2 ай бұрын
Everything that can be injected is easy to lace, Since it normally dissolves in some H2O.... Easy logic
@sebastienbedard4112 ай бұрын
Hi! The "few grains of salt" is an image to make us understand how potent it is. In fact, the doses of fentanyl are calculated in micrograms and the cartels "cook" it by kilograms. After, when the pure product is ready they cut it with a very large amount of powder (cutting agents). But the problem is that they are not pharmaceutical companies, so, sometimes, some doses of fentanyl are bigger than others and it can lead to an overdose.
