Just bought this and the manual says the following (it's currently charging so I haven't tested these yet): -Use the red button to change between gears. First gear equals more torque for going uphill, second gear is more speed for straightaways. -To activate cruise control, press the throttle down for 10 seconds. To deactivate, press the throttle or apply the brake.

@@Mudd.ie2 Just to follow up, I can validate that the cruise control works and it's awesome. However, I haven't been able to figure out the first gear/second gear setting so I think that one is bunked.

@redbirdsjunkie the older models (red cable ones) have that feature the new blue ones dont from research on them

What i found, is its a bit disapointing for an adult, but as a kids scooter at 10 years old its insane. My daughter who is almost 10 hasnt been brave enough to get it up to speed yet and at just 70 pounds it crawls up mountains with her on it.
@DIYReid8 ай бұрын
If you’re not going to be ripping it up hills then it’s fine for an adult and priced low. Just know it’ll slow down to about 5 mph or so on big inclines

I just got one today from Walmart. The manual mentions switching gears low and high. I wonder if the newer versions just do it automatically because I can't tell. The manual doesn't really clarify how it's done?
@jordannnn56843 ай бұрын
I heard the newer ones released don't have a gear switch it's already let's you go top speed which is 15.5 mph

The digital consoles go out, apparently. This is a common issue from what I can find on the internet. I bought 3 for my kids for Christmas in December of 2023. They're supposed to have a 2 year warranty but at the very least a one year warranty. I've tried contacting gotrax for 6 weeks now. I've filled out their online form 3 times and called their phone number around 20 times without a response. I finally contacted the BBB. My kids love these scooters, and they have so much fun riding them. Up until the issue with the console going out, I would've given them 5 stars. The sad part is I can't even find the console anywhere to purchase it. Then everyone selling a used scooter wants $300, and I bought ours for $215 a piece in December. It's just a shame I can't get the console replaced. They've been almost half the summer without one of their scooters, and it's been a constant argument. If anyone has any idea how I can contact gotrax, please let me know. Thanks, I appreciate it. 🙏🏽

Battery life is highly dependent on the weight of the rider. I have the XR Elite Max which is rated for 18 miles. I weigh about 175lbs and get between 10 and 11 miles on a charge. A full size adult should expect to get 50-60 percent of the advertised maximum range, so if range is important, then buy up. I purchased mine 7 weeks ago, and it already has 600 miles on it.
@DIYReid2 ай бұрын
Yeah, distance can vary quite a bit on weight of rider and terrain.

I struggled with the cruise also. But figured out that while I was riding, I kept the throttle held at 12 and didn’t realize that I had engaged the cruise until I hit the break. I wasn’t holding the throttle down like I had been so I didnt notice that it was keeping speed. I kept trying to “push” what looked like a button but it’s not. Just a nice place to rest your thumb. Will be perfect for the campground. If I want something more, I will ride my e-bike.
