The Icon A5, an American Amphibious aircraft, takes Fun flying to a whole new level. Whether on water or land, you can fly and land this aircraft without any hassle and have that special moment with your loved one. While the Icon A5 was formally introduced on July 7 2014, its idea was developed as far back as 2008, with the first prototype flying on July 9. The creation of its production tooling began four years later, in December 2012.

I don't think this thing is inherently flawed. It has many cool features, and no one should fall out of the sky with it, at least not without a good reason. In the end, it's a toy, not so much a serious airplane, even though it can fly. The price makes it a very expensive toy that can only be afforded by a certain group of people, and that is where the problem begins. As proven over and over, money does not necessarily equal brain power. Go and check the NTSB reports on this airplane.

How is this a family aircraft if it’s only 2 seats

This was a great plane when the company first started out and was taking orders for it at $159,000. I went to visit them when they first started. I’ve visited their facility in Vacaville, CA. The aircraft is amazing, but it’s not worth $389,000. The company is struggling and seems to be terribly mismanaged. It’s a great product, but seems like a terribly managed company.
