I am one of the so called toppers of the school, because of my interaction and grades, and what you said is totally relevant. In school copy paste concept is used instead of practical knowledge. There was a student in my class who used to be my senior but since he failed in class 9 he became one of our classmates. He had very low grades, and teachers used to make fun of him a lot..but, there's a but. He used to make small machines with daily life things, and he was a genius. Though I was good in theoretical physics, that boy was good in the application of physics. But I don't think he will get science in 11 because of his low grades. This is where our system fails; ratta maar knowledge > practical knowledge. I feel bad for that student And yeah the filtering system, there were so many classes for the slow learners in our school, otherwise they will fail. But we need to understand that everyone's learning process is different, even when all students are of the same age. This was one of main ideas of modern psychology named constructivism. Last but not the least, there's no education and system in our education system. The day it's fixed will be the day India will truly develop

@@aparnasingh9358 Okay, if you think so, then what's the use of internship... people can directly get job by just reading books in their language. Isn't it so?? Ma'am, in India many Engineering students have got marks, but they don't know coding. It means they have understood what has been taught in class but they can't apply those. In Medical field, practice is one of the best thing to become successful. If I talk about school, people only have seen how a chemistry lab looks like and how the objects work, but they don't know how to use it. In books suppose a line is written "diluted acid", students can understand water and acid is mixed but they don't know should they add acid to water or water to acid from this line. Basically a whole detailed process of an experiment is never given in books, those can only be performed if a teacher teaches us those practically.
@aparnasingh93583 жыл бұрын
@@itsme6461 Well well I don't know how you went from experiments given in book (i was referring upto 12th) to suddenly Medical field or codding and stuff these higher education field teaching institutes focuses on practical knowledge as well becouse being myself studing in medical college it would be funny if you are telling i don't get practical knowledge in indian college. That's a whole different topic if some low grade engineering college doesn't have equipments or lab same goes for schools not conducting practical periods efficientally . I'll talk about myself i completed my 12th from a small town but my college had conducted all practicals well we were always asked to do experiments as instructed in the book ( btw book cover details if to add acid in water or water in the acid i remember myself reading it 🤓and actually colleges have seperate bottle labelled eg dill. HCL for safety purpose i guess ) I beleive if concepts of physics chemistry are taught in mothertongue then the child will grasp it very easily with each class and can apply in future in innovations. You just think most people in our country are not comfortable with English yet they are the same who passed their whole 12 yrs school studying in that medium.. They didn't completely got the basic concepts just rattafication of paragraphs of answers to write in exams.

I have recently started as a school teacher and I am deeply saddened to see the faults of our education system at such close quarters. Students are encouraged to cram the answers and made to expect questions only from the textbook. If they notice any slight diversion in the way the questions are presented, they would react like fish out of water. The state of language education has reached rockbottom. The mindless emphasis on English, and outright negligence of the mother tongue enrages me to the core. The abnormally increasing number of students in one section has taken a toll on the educator's sanity. I,for one, am not able to cope with the challenges that come along with it. Despite my willingness to help the slow learners, I am compelled to move with the pace of those who fair well. The utmost importance given on the completion of syllabus ( regardless of whether the students understand the concepts or not) and almost null number of extra classes for the slow learners. Schools , now follow the policy of survival of the fittest and the willing teachers are bogged down by the disillusionment they face in this system. While, the ones who hardly care, go about their business with their myopic vision. There is so much to explain but I am afraid the list is so long, that it cannot be accommodated. I am just another novice but frustrated teacher whose naive vision to bring a change has constantly been threatened by the superficial ideals which are followed nowadays

I am from Kerala. Even govt is focusing only on increasing the pass percentage of the state board. Recently the kerala class 10 results were announced. So we also came to know about the result of my neighbour. It was really surprising to know that a child who rarely goes to school or study has got such a good grades. No offense against that kid. But another shocking thing was that many 9th std students were paid to write the exam of these 10th std students. This year only one student failed in that particular school because his/her father refused to take that offer. We are giving to much importance to marks such that if a child doesn't fulfill the minimum he/she is declared as a failure and the govt itself is encouraging cheating and giving an indirect message that you can't t be successful with what u have. While the govt make a good status for themselves among other states, they are actually spoiling their own children This is a serious issue. Neither the news channels are ready to take this issue nor the teachers. Pls help me to make this one of the top comments so that everyone can see this.

"The Indian factory system" which you mentioned speaks volumes about the main purpose of education. Our current system was created by Britishers, mainly by Thomas Macaulay in such a way that it generates more factory workers who would serve them but not talented or creative personalities. It was done to enslave us. It is a sad reality that we haven't overhauled our outdated system. Education is one of those sectors which has been blatantly ignored by our leaders. Let's not blame our leaders alone, it is the mistake of people who don't demand what is essential. We beat our chests and take to the streets to demand reservations and everything "free". This culture of freebies has made us lazy, casual, and incompetent. Have we ever raised a voice for better education? The answer is No. As long as we don't hold our leaders accountable, we are going to remain in this sad state.

Remember Gauri Lankesh? People who have held their leaders accountable publicly since 2014 have been murdered, jailed or lynched. India is a developing country. Most of our population is poor. Din ka khana, pani, bijli mil jaye toh insaan khush h yaha, kyuki woh bhi mushkil se hi milta h iss desh mein. A developing country like ours will always be more concerned with survival than development, unless the government aims to completely eradicate these problems, which none of our governments have been too keen to do since 1947.

Before writing anything let me clear that I study in class 7 . All the facts in the video are true because I have experienced it myself. The condition of government school in my village is worst. Here students do take admission in government schools but they don't study there. Instead they go to private schools. It means that their names are in both private and government schools. The reasons behind this are :lack of good teachers, poor infrastructure, bad quality of meal and education. The teachers are literally not educated. It seems they have got this job on the basis of fake documents. Students roam outside the school without any fear of teachers. Even in private schools the condition is almost same. I have seen my friends memorizing the concept instead of understanding that. If we write answers in our own words , teachers make our answers incorrect. These all are real life incidents.

I too hail from a village and you won't believe how private schools run here. On normal days, the duty of a teacher is just to make students sit in class by force nothing else. Parents just want their kids out of the house for five six hours and they only care about how long a school can keep thier child there and in exam time teachers leak the paper or sometimes even write the papers themselves to ensure the kid passes the exam, this system is destroying the young students and only those who have educated parents or any other person like a good tution teacher, who knows the reality (like me) can learn something and the situation is getting worse day by day and after this covid pandemic, only God knows what's gonna happen, most of these kids are going to grow up completely illiterate that too in a world of 2030 and 2040 and it scares me that how they are going to survive in that world.

Even I had a bad experience. I was and am a slow learner and do have atention problems. It was only in second class that I had some basic knowledge of reading and writing. In class1, I could not understand most of the things. I even used to get scoldings and beatings for not writing proper answer. Where you criminalize a person's situation, what the concrne ones do is to escape and not improve. The conventional notion of correcting things with physical force is nothing but redundant. Scoldings things for their incompetence will only make them justify cheating and not showing up, and this is probably coming up in the recent studies on prisoners. But I think that some miracle happended to me and I had a spike in understanding the english text and to such a level that I came second in the class and continued to maintain an average 90% school life. This fact never makes me forget my CLASS II. I still think of it as a miracle but yes its my mom (she really worked hard on me for my general knowledge and english) and my friends ( Dev and Shikhar - both are IITians now) who gave me a sense of curiosity and competition. And later to my commerce friends. But this is not the end of the story. I did put a lot of effort to it, causing havoc ony my productivity. Law school has made me look even more average. Still there is lot to climb. Just hope for a future profitable model where students are not just considered as a masterpiece and not assembly line products. I mentioned my friends point to say that apart from teachers we need good environment for the peers and a constructive relationship between juniors and seniors so that juniors are not left unguided. After 2 months only 25% of portion was completed and we were told that for the first internal exams 50% of the total syllabus was gonna come. Literally in span of 10 days they finished the remaining 25 Percent. And they assume that we will give exams without cheating. How are we supposed to learn in 10 days which should have been given a month atleast. Now we are forced to study by our own will. If I don't copy I might even fail.
