I've always found it weird that dark side masters feel angry and betrayed when their apprentices attempt to kill them. It's LITERALLY written into the rule of two the one will embody the power, and the other will crave it. So, you have to know they'll attempt to take you out at some point. Bane was actually disappointed that Zannah waited so long to attack him. He started to doubt his choice in apprentice. So, why were so many others shocked at the perceived betrayal/

They think to a being that they are the ones to be all, end all (possibly) it seems an think wether they are or not, "chosen one" or not that that'd be irrelevant due to them thinking of "how powerful, etc they are" an they'll be able to sense and/or handle ANY threat from anyone no matter where an whom it comes from. Ventress is one of my favorite chars. Her death was heartbreaking. She would of been good in prequels as a bounty hunter career as she did for a little while in clone wars series.

It was interesting in Dark Disciple to see her fall in love and actually want to run away and leave it all behind for love, and to give up her life for her love. I don't think all the Council despised her, in Dark Disciple it seemed Yoda held compassion for her, and Obiwan seemed forgiving even with all she had done. Also, the council despised her but pardoned her and worked with her.

I suppose it had to do with the influence that the outlaw had. Talzin didn't want to lose a branch of the network she had created, so she sacrificed one child for the general benefit of the whole coven.

Dark Disciple is one of my favourite Star Wars novels. Asajj Ventress and Obi Wan Kenobi are two of my favourite characters in the universe. So, always happy to read a book with lots of both of them. It was really sad to see her go out like that. She really believed that Dooku threw her aside because she was failure. And, that couldn't have been further from the truth. I'm glad she found love and family acceptance again. But, what a brutal existence she had. Not quite sure how she kept getting up in the morning, tbh.

I really enjoyed this SW. I already like Ventress as a character but hearing her backstory makes me appreciate her much more. But also this style is exactly why I’m subbed. Your way of narrating with this exact background music while giving me lore I didn’t know about the prequel and Old Republic era will always hit. It just makes the Star Wars galaxy seem so alive and mysterious.

I will say I liked this origin because it explains how she wound up on the planet Duko found her on in the original animated Clone Wars cartoon but also explained her abilities. Because I also thought it a bit odd that she clearly had force abilities and used jedi lightsabers very well but seemed to still be very raw and unrefined almost like she was self taught. Which would make sense given she knew of the jedi and sith but didn't know let alone sense Duko's abilities, but it still didn't explain how she got her lightsabers that she first used. Overall I would have preferred her not to be apart of the Night Sister sense both Maul and his brother were, it gives that in this big wide galaxy only a few races really seem to have any ties to the darkside.

5:20 Sad that she started off as a true jedi warrior, only to have the Council to be the cause of her newfound disdain for the jedi. The mavericks like her master and Qui-Gon are the few gems amongst the order The story of her and Maul are similar, at least in the way of abandonment and suffering never truly consoled. The sons and daughter of Dathomir all met a tragic end. (Although, makes you wonder how the Nightsisters couldn't manage to defend against a few slavers from taking one of their own....)

I always wondered if Asajj if born at a later time, would've been accepted by Luke. The Jedi order was so stiff and locked in their ways, that those that sought balance and the light were considered unsuitable; even as Yoda preached how the Force 'binds all things' the order never practiced what they preached.

Remember in the Clone Wars movie and in the first season of Clone Wars when Obi Wan checks her out and smirks whenever Ventress shows up. It happened in the movie when Obi Wan fights Ventress and she takes off her skirt. It then happens again in Christophis when Obi fights Ventress alone. I miss stuff like this

This is so bad. She is fantastic character. She redeemed herself in a way. I knew about Kay. I remember him from Clone Wars. So sad what happened. She wasn't all that evil. I remembered when she left bounty hunters. One asked" You think you're better than us now? Is that it? Asajj said:" No,but now I have a future". That's it. She wanted future,good life. Her families were stolen from her in the most painful ways. Dooku really cared for her,loved her. But had to leave her. He betrayed her because of fear for his life. He was scared. He had no option. I'm so glad she found love. True love and friendship-Quinlan Vos. He was also a maverick😁 like Qui-Gon. Or Obi-Wan in a way. They playfully bickered,had jokes,butted heads often😊 This is what Obi-Wan needed. Another Jedi similar to Anakin😊 Similar. She died as a hero and redeemed herself. She's a true hero of the Republic and the galaxy. Great video😊 May the Force be with you too😊

I think that The Dark Disciple was the perfect conclusion of her story. If only it had been included in TCW series...(I also believe that in that case, fans would have gone completely crazy over Ventress and the producers would have been considering strongly to include her in more Star Wars stories and shows)

The Order WAS being very UNJedi like "despising" her.. IF anything she coulda become an exceptionally gifted an POWERFUL Jedi which is kinda what was on her way to becoming, sorta.. having already BEEN a darksider an lived ALMOST long enough by time of the Empire if she'd lasted long enough thanks to that Quinn Lin Voss love story arc thing shed ultimately i think either somehow become a special Jedi exception OR turned into a version of Asoka tano at worst being something of a Galen Marik but still more good having seen an been through all the bad an it having lost alot of its hold sense Voss nearly turned her.

This is so fucking sad. And what is with the writing of one bad action and BOOM! you are on the Dark Side. This is the failure of the Jedi hands down. No wonder why Obi Wan had a soft spot for her. This rigidity of who the Council trained and why they had such a strict age limit is part of why she was on the Dark Side to begin with. Then again, she would have likely have been killed during Order 66. If not, and she did get into the Order, she would likely have had a lot in common with Anakin, and those two would have been a powerful team along with Obi Wan

Great character Ventress was. I wish she got a chance to work with Ashoka, but had to make her attack Dooku. She should have survived Clone Wars and be a bounty hunter force user guiding Ashoka.
