@@Gundam-FuryYou do realize that Captain Marvel was the big tease at the end of Infinity War, one of the highest grossing movies of all time? Of course it’s gonna be a box office hit because of it somewhat answering one of cinema’s largest cliffhangers. Also, it was a brand new property, unlike the Ant-Man franchise, which already established its level of quality. Ant-Man and the Wasp didn’t have any of that hype, but was instead marketed as a fun movie before the intensity of Endgame. Not a super necessary watch.

I feel like the shot during 8:02 disproves that given Kamala and Monica are both using their powers on screen at the same time. So even if that is the explanation then it's still inconsistently used. I wish I can rewatch the explanation since they essentially speedrun it.

Then...in the final battle...why don't leave the "most powerful superhero" that fought head to head against someone who have in his hands the most powerful objets in the universe to defeat the generic villan with...a hammer and an artefac that does something similar to the power stone in terms of absorbing powers? The excuse was that they teleported randomly never got explain effectively and worse, it was just an excuse to nerf Captain Marvel to the point to make everything look "even". That is my major concern/problem with OP characters, that you just can expect anything such as stuggle or even temporary defeat when they can end everything before even start, and even character that are Gods or super powerful wizards are limited to set of rules that limited them and make them weak compare to their respective antagonists. But then you have characters like Captain Marvel (or at least before Gaia used to be) and more recently Loki that there mere existence is ridiculous to tell a story because they just can outperform everything unless something even more ridiculous happens (like in the case of this movie).
@Phoenix_of_Sun11 ай бұрын
@@SupercutsDelight Yeah, I would agree about it feeling inconsistent. I'm just saying that I think that was the explanation they were going for. If you watch the clip at 8:02, it seems like they were trying to go for an alternating thing where Kamala makes her platform, then Monica shoots her light beam, then Kamala shoots her light wall so technically they never use their powers at the same time. But, given that the actors are still making the hand gestures or body movements like they are using their powers and it happens so fast, it definitely comes off as confusing.

I love to follow your channel, your analysis are always enjoyable to watch and I see many of your points, but I disagree and think that calling the movie a failure would be going too far. I hope it succeeds in box office, and I even told my wife that it finally felt like a good Marvel movie again (way better than Ant Man 3, and Multiverse of Madness). Of course, to each its own, and I think I personally enjoyed or didn't mind some aspects that were awful for you. To be fair, I haven't finished watching Secret Invasion (I want to give it a chance, even though I've already seen a lot of criticism about it), so I'm not sure how much this would influence my opinion. I don't have much time to write, so long story short: I agree that Nick Fury could have been MUCH better; he was supposed to be the master spy, but took too long to make important decisions (like evacuating the space station) and seemed to not have crucial information that he definitely should've had. The villain could be more memorable but I guess her arc was that she started taking extreme actions to save her people of a weirdly explained problem. I guess the Krees having a Civil War while being technologically advanced means that they ended up destroying their own resources. Basically, Danvers created a major power vacuum which is filled by the villain after the civilization nearly destroy itself. I think the point is that the villain wanted to save her people, but couldn't help being hellbent on revenge against Carol. It was not just about getting air, water and sunshine for her people, but also about hurting Carol as much as possible in the process. But they could've made her more memorable with this. I also wish they explored more this idea of Carol being a very OP human that has to face the consequences of her actions. For the inconsistent switch, I interpreted it as they only got teleported when two or more used their powers simultaneously, and in some fights it made me apprehensive every time they used their powers, because you could never know when the switch would happen. Anyway, I agree the movie could be a lot better, but I hope it doesn't fail.

The swapping mechanic is not that hard to understand. #1 The swap happens if two or more of them use their powers at the same time. #2 Powers stay active after the swap. This was all explained by them after they figured out the parameters after the initial confusion. When only one person uses her powers, she can do it without any problems. When two persons use their power at the same time, they swap places. So when one of them was shown using their powers without swap, that meant neither of the two others were using their power. When "random" swap happened, someone else was usign power simultaneousy. After they figured the mechanics out, they coordinated the swaps in the latter part of the movie.

They should also change their position with the Evil Woman, but they don´t which is also a fail with the mechanic.

In short. I thought it was a really bad film. I agree with your opinion of Mis Marvel's character. She was the one point I found interesting. Sadly the rest of it did nothing for me. I couldn't care less about Captain Marvel's journey simply because she didn't have one. She was stoic throughout. She didn't evolve. She never really appeared suffered from the guilt from her mistake when she destroyed the master computer. (that would have made this movie so much better) We as movie goers don't love heros because their stoic, and powerful and never own their mistakes. We love them because they do screw up, but they learn a grow along the way. If Marvel and Disney can't understand this simple rule when it comes to making movies, maybe it's time they stop and start doing something else. Because eventually people will just stop paying money to watch their progressively growing bad films. Just my opinion.

"Over centralized on Kamala Khan." Now I can understand why Brie Larson was so frustrated, and wanting to quit on Captain Marvel. The Marvel writers are big pile of super villain's dog shit.

Without re-watching the movie with pause capabilities, I can't say for sure if the swapping mechanic was inconsistent. It was supposed to happen anytime more than one of them used their powers at the same time, so they wouldn't swap places if just one of the characters was using her powers. I enjoyed the movie, but I am easy to please. I understand why people aren't as enthused as they once were. We were spoiled by Phase 3. I would like to see Marvel go back to writing strong individual stories that just happen to tie in with the bigger picture a little, rather than making movies and shows that seem to only exist in order to introduce a new character or connect to some future plot line. Each story should be able to stand on its own AND be part of a larger whole.

Everyone involved in the production of this movie must feel absolutely depressed knowing that a Japanese movie, about Godzilla, with less than a $15 million budget, completely eclipses them in terms of storytelling and box office success.

Not going to comment on. the movie, because I'll never see it, but will comment on Ms. Marvel. I tried, I really did, on Disney+, and I lasted far longer than I should have. About halfway through episode two, I realized how completely mistaken I was watching it. I looked in the mirror and realized that I was not a 14 year old girl, and there was absolutely nothing remotely interesting about this character. The powers were stupid and it was more like an Afterschool Special than a Marvel series. The only things missing were the Cover Girl and Clearasil advertisements. This, plus the robotic portrayal of Captain Marvel, and my complete lack of interest in Rambeau, euthanized the point zero one seconds of interest I had in seeing this movie. Apparently, I'm not alone in this lack of interest.

Honestly I don’t think it was a bad movie at all but definitely had some bad aspects to it like the messy plot and bad Villian. Otherwise it was a fun watch for me and my friends when we went to see it. I really wouldn’t consider it the worst MCU movie at all tho personally

Here's my take: Growing up I read Iron Man. I read Captain America comics. I read the Hulk comics, watched the cartoons, saw the TV shows. Also Captain Marvel was a guy who said "Shazam" in order to change from a boy into a guy superhero....which is what the movie Shazam is/was. The problem was Captain Marvel was sued by the creators of Superman saying that it was a direct ripoff of Superman. So Capt. Marvel disappeared for a few decades due to this. Now they decided to bring him back but not call him Capt Marvel, they just called the movie Shazam. Then they tried to rewrite it so it was a chick. With a convoluted backstory. Shes from earth, but was serving in some corps on another planet? So basically they serve up a new Captain Marvel to me, but she looks like a sorority girl from UCLA wearing a power rangers suit. Thats not Capt. Marvel, but they are telling me, no it IS her now. Ok. Then they come out with this current movie and not only is it her in a power ranger suit, she now has two other nobodys also in power ranger suits. I dont know these characters, I have no investment in these characters, I dont recognize this new Capt. Marvel at all. They are trying to make a big thing out of nobody characters that no one wants to see. Has Marvel blown its load with all the main Stage 1 characters? Im afraid so. Iron man, capt. America, the Hulk, all had thier movies and then did the Avengers movies. The fat lady has sung, all the people playing the characters all are above 40 yrs old now, some over 50, and they all left the MCU for other projects. But Disney does not want to hear that the fat lady has sung. After all, they bought Marvel and now they have to keep wringing money of of the property, the same was they bought Star Wars and they want to keep making money with that as well. This causes dilution, wringing every last drop out for profit. The result is shitty little side series like Hawkeye and that girl, or bad Star Wars movies. People are burned out. As for Star Wars, I ignore the last three crap movies. On my Mantle with the DVDs and Tapes I got the first three, the second three, and thats it. Story complete. I dont know what DIS and Marvel is going to do. They already covered the main guys. Keep rebooting like the Spiderman movies?

So it’s more complicated than just the temperature plummeting if your star dies. A dying star turns into a red giant, which expands in size and would most likely, swallow any planet in the habitable zone. So the temperature on the planet would get hotter first, then cooler, assuming it would survive the expansion of the star. Which it probably wouldn’t.

tbh the concept of three underdeveloped characters plagued with bad writing and marvel's current over saturation to star in a movie was doomed from the beginning. marvel had the chance to utilize wanda this phase and establish the scarlet witch as the nexus being in the multiverse but chose all the weong characters to highlight.

I think if Carol and Monica were more adamant about protecting Kamala and showing her the ropes the film would have hit better . Instead they did this weird stand offish approach and Monica is still learning her powers so it also plays as a Photon year 2

The movie is fine enough it is not so bad the villain is kinda boring but it makes sense that shes trying to make carol to pay for all the bad things she did before. the dynamic of the 3 main characters is really good and carol conflict with the kree skrulls and monica js good too and how she feels guilty and also feels a burden or responsibility also to not let kamala down since she looks up to her so bad. They also explain for the switching mechanic that they have similar light powers and also came in contact with a space singularity at the same time thats how they got entangled. they also show that they have to activate their power at the exact same time in order for them to switch they dont teleport all the time cause sometimes they dont use their power at the same time also it doesnt always work there is a probability to happen thats why they train to make it more manageable which they kinda manage and also the fight scene are rly fun bcs of that

First, big fan. Love your page! I personally loved the movie. It was so fun and I loved all 3 leads. The movie had issues like a lame villain and too much cat stuff, but i personally didnt care much bcuz I had a lot of fun. It may not be the best marvel had to offer, but it was better than antman 3 and thor L&T forsure.
