Interestingly, right after Jungkook announced the official release date of his solo song Seven, BB changed the rules again. Starting June 30th, BB will no longer count digital download singles from artist webstores (D2C) towards the Hot 100. Yep, color me surprised...

We'll have to wait and see if BB will apply the same restrictions to other artists (of course, that is not likely), but this whole thing of changing rules and adding more obstacles whenever BTS realses somethig is ridiculous. The industry is only addding more reasons for Army to try and stop their sabotage by mass buying, resulting in more money for BTS and less engagement with them. It's almost like shooting themselves, but I guess we should let them make a fool of themselves and support Jungkook’s new project 😊

KZbin is so funny, cause why bother freezing and deleting millions of his YT views per day so that it will never reach hundred million views, if they can just directly delete all of his MV views all together? Spotify is also so funny cause why bother separating remixes of his songs and then filtering 60% of his streams when one can just directly filter all of his streams all together? Radio is so funny, cause why bother playing his songs only 7 times a week when it still count zero points in Radio spins for the BB charts? Lastly Billboard is also so funny, cause why bother ignoring 90% of his song sales when one can just directly ignore 100% of his song sales all together? Are they just dumb? Or do they just don't want their "little" corruption to be exposed? Also how in the world bundles like socks and candy has more value in the BB charts than (D2C) real digital download sales? I swear the Music Industry is so funny. Cause they even accused an artist with no industry support for chart manipulation cause he manage to get no.1 on Billboard chart 100 WITHOUT illegally paying his way to get radio spins (payola), no paid playlisting or insane advertising, with hate train in twitter, and with little and very short promotion time, while also being sabotaged by YT, Spotify, BB, and other platforms. Only because he can be at the top of the BB charts with only relying on his song STREAMS which is filtered more than half and SONG SALES, which will then be deleted by BB by 90% in order to kick him off charts. In Billboard's logic, actual people living and breathing actively buying and streaming an artist song simply because they love it, is considered chart manipulation. Which is technically the most organic way to determine if an artist really popular or not instead of some payed radio play that helps some artist from big labels to stay on charts.

Why do people get so pressed when we (ARMYs) who massively buy albums? All we’re doing is supporting the boys and listening to their music. I have downloaded multiple of their remixes and saving up money to buy more albums. I don’t listen to other artists music when it’s shoved down my throat. If I genuinely like the music, maybe just maybe, I’ll listen to it. But overall, I’m not ashamed of having BTS albums on my tiny ass shelf.

The funny thing is that supposedly Seventeen and Stray Kids have sold more albums than BTS with the latest albums: over 5 million each. I find those numbers strange. I think you have a point about the English-speaking artists having sold out shows in other countries, being a different thing then a non-English speaking artists selling out shows in English-speaking countries And I think it comes from the fact that people in English speaking countries largely have never had any expectation that they need to learn other language or look up a translation or even pay attention to things in other languages. The largest music industry in the world is the American music industry, and their biggest acts tend to do well globally. But even as someone fully willing to listen to non-English music, I couldn’t tell you what the biggest acts from Japan are despite being the second largest music industry in the world. In non-English speaking countries, it’s far more normalised that you listen to music in languages you don’t speak. You’re more likely to see movies that are subtitled or dubbed (something that is only just starting to become more normal in English speaking countries). And it’s not strange to read the lyrics for songs with a translation so you can understand, or just kind of not know exactly what the song says but get the vibe. And I think overall because the American entertainment industry produces SO MUCH CONTENT you don’t really need to look for stuff in other languages, you have to be actively looking for other cultures to encounter them. Like I’m Australian, and the amount of stuff we produce in movies, television, music etc. is relatively small (and it would be even smaller if there wasn’t actual government rules that a certain amount of content shown on tv has to be Australian). We don’t have enough people that would consume the content just in the borders of our country to justify spending a couple billion on every movie that comes up or invest a tonne of money in an artist that may only get attention in the country. But we have the American entertainment industry making content in our language, so we tend to just import all their stuff because it’s easier. But if you come from a country with a smaller domestic market for entertainment, without many or any other countries who speak the same language, you just have to import stuff and MAYBE you dub it in your language, or you could just slap some subtitles on and that’s fine. It still costs less to import than it does to make. That’s how entertainment in English gets normalised in other countries, but doesn’t get normalised in English speaking countries. It’s only with the internet and globalisation that non-English entertainment and artists get any shot at the English-speaking market. And it’s an uphill battle because English speakers have never HAD to consume things that aren’t in their language. Side note: Spanish speaking artists do a little bit better at getting into to the English-speaking market BECAUSE there is such a large Spanish speaking population in America, but it’s still an uphill battle because of how many Americans speak only English and don’t see any reason to consume non-English media. I feel like I half lost my point mid-way through rambling, but I was mostly coherent 😂
@nightfrost1891
@nightfrost1891 Жыл бұрын
i agree, a lot of other countries are used to listening to songs in different languages we (i'm american) aren't because everything is in english already so english speaking countries just don't have the same perspective like you basically said lol (i['m backing it up, being american) i had no problem with other languages and media because i grew up fascinated with other countries cultures, specifically east asia since i was a child fashion (my first love), anime, games, music etc. etc. so was never a stranger to subtitles or listening to a different language because that has ALWAYS been my interest it's sucks people are like this because there is SO MANY great shows, movies, music, games etc. you are missing out on because ' It'S iN a DiFfErEnT lAnGuAgE ' and???

It's not "only" American English speaking acts that do well globally. British can also do well (not sure if there are Australian artists that are globally big). But otherwise you are very right. 💜
@YaGurlSunshine
@YaGurlSunshine Жыл бұрын
@@ruthfischer7615 Yeah I meant British as well, that's why I usually clarified English-speaking rather than just American, but I think overall the media that gets spread around the globe most tends to be American because their industry is so damn huge. But British artists also have the advantage of being English-speaking and having a decently sized home market for media consumption As for Australian artists that are globally big? We don't have too many, we have ACDC, Kylie Minogue, Troye Sivan, Keith Urban, Sia etc. but not too many overall, I think we generally have more actors who get big globally but they have to go overseas to do it.

the best comment I saw on twitter was that in 2025 all sales and streams from people whose name is Namjoon, Jin, Yoongi, Hobi, Jimin, Tae or Jungkook will no longer count for their BB. It really is turning itself into a completely irrelevant chart and their rules are also hurting so many independent artists as a by product. There needs to be a new fairer chart to rise in their place.

Why does streaming to the same song continuously considered as bot?. I know a guy from my workplace years ago who listen to the same song again and again in a 12 hours shift. He's a real person who shows his love for that particular song. Nothing wrong with that. He's willingly doing it 😊. I was watching take two after the live version released. At the time i'm watching it, it got 300k+ views but there's 500k+ likes 😅. Who got likes more than views? 😂. After few hours it turns back to normal.

there are kpop fans who buy almost every groups albums and then there are the once who just want their fave to win something and then only focus on album sales and lets be real all kpop concerts is bound to have a big audience it´s just a better show than the normal artist put on. but from a good concert for the fun of it to a dedicated fandom who will know every lyric and funny thing the members do i have only seen with bts and army. and i dont think any other group could sell out a solo tour by any of their memebers. because like i said kpop fans is fans of the groups and the dancing part of the show. but still look at J-hope and Suga´s concert without dancing is still rocking it regardless. that is some real shit. and we know every song by heart not only the hit songs that is proof of a real fandom not an overall fan of the genre. you have to be a real fan to know all the little ting the group has said and done. if JK jimin would say lajibolala at their concert, everyone there will know what that means.

I know numerous fandoms, in and out of KPop that sing to the B Side songs of their favorite groups and support members if they do solo tours. They changed the rules again where purchases from artists webstores won’t count. Like really? And I noticed that Spotify will curate playlists for me, like “your most listened to songs in 2022” (which should be all BTS), but there are random songs plugged in the playlist. Songs I’ve never heard of and are totally different then BTS. I mean, at least stay in the same lane. At least hide another K-pop song in there, but it’s not even. 🙄

Putting an MV into adds is how some artists got so very big streaming numbers on youtube. Artists who did this are for example Taylor Swift and BP. It is possible to look at the numbers without those false views but it is tricky to find them. Mind you in - I believe - 2019 those "false" views stopped counting for the charts - which is why some of the numbers are smaller now - why invest so much money when it does not help with charting? There are articles about it. As far as I know a "spin" is not playing a song once but a packet of a certain number of plays on a station (I don't know the exact number). There is also something interesting another reactor said: a few years ago a big company began buying radio stations. Noticing this another company began to also buy radio stations - they managed to buy about 1/3 of all stations in the US and the other about 2/3 of them. Meaning that there are almost NO neutral radio stations anymore. One of them is iHeart radio if I remember right. Now how do you legally pay to get your stuff streamed on radio? Sponsor for example for a festival the radio station is making - they will play your stuff. Buy a commercial on the radio station. You can choose the music/songs played before and after because those are going to be associated with your comercial. Stuff like that. English is the Lingua Franca when people want to talk to each other and don't know each other's language: tourism, big business, the internet - because most countries teach it as a secondary language - sometimes it is even forced upon the students and not an elective. History is part of that. What lanuage do you think they speak in IKEA's subsidary in Seoul, SK? When the people that came to lead it came form another country and didn't speak Korean when they built it while the hired Koreans did not speak? what? Swedish? No, they speak English. Borahae!💜

the American industry need to go to this extreme to stay relevant in the world. they also know foreign artist want to be on their chart. it´s the same with Hollywood all actors want to be on the big screen and yes many amazing songs and movies are created in the US, but SO many artists and movies from other countries are really good too but is never being shown in the US. like the most popular music show in the world "eurovision" is not being showed in the US. why? because they dont want to pay to get acces to it and why watch it if the US is unable to compete. i think Kpop evolved from eurovision and also MJ. they have the choreo and amazing stage performance too. i think it´s china or japan and australia too, who paied to get acces to eurovision many years ago knowing that they wont be able to compete so they have been watching that for a long time. now AU is able to compete but if they win they need to host the show next year in EU country. so when people say i have never heard of that movie or music it´s because they keep it locked. but the door is mainly shut from the inside of the US only allowing others to see what they make. so it´s really cool how BTS is managing to do this with the help of American army working the system from the inside. hehe if you haven´t watch eurovision before, it would be nice to see you react to it, just once there is a good introduction video to it and you can maybe watch a winner song.

Fans buy and support the artist isn't that what being an artist is all about making your living off your art and performance. If you wanted to be an 'Influencer' you'd do that if you wanted to be a model you'd do that etc rather than write, compose, produce sing and Rap. These disgusting snakes and creep in the US Music Industry just want to 'sponge off' as we say in the UK off artist hard work. eg want to make money off the artists.
