True. A beautiful melody is so uplifting and then adding words that fit its beauty top it off. This is why many Hymn tunes fit a variety of words.

I only listen to instrumental classical music, I don’t care much for voice, I did as a kid but not, I just don’t like singing or songs. Makes it easier to choose.

@G3Ministries I hope this message finds you well. I recently watched your post on KZbin, and I wanted to reach out with some concerns. Specifically, I’ve noticed that your advocacy on certain issues has had a destructive effect on churches. For example, after your recent post about Bethel Music, some members of my church took it to an extreme. They refused singing hymns simply because Hillsong had sung those songs. It’s reached a point where even songs that quote Scripture are being avoided, just because of their origins. I believe your ideas, while well-intentioned, are causing more harm than good in this instance. Would you be willing to discuss this with me further? I’d greatly appreciate a call to talk through this issue. Thank you for your time. I also sent this to directe msg with my. I look forward to hearing from you. From a Fellow Pastor...

I agree that these messages are on the balance more harmful than helpful. But my question for you is this: If your church's members are so gullible as to be influenced by these messages, and to a degree beyond maybe even the intent of the videos, what does that say about the effectiveness of discipleship at your church? We shouldn't fear bad teaching. We should grieve fake disciples.

@@jeffbarrett7497 You'd be right. Except we have people who came from ultra legalistic / cult like religious activity. Church then is like a half way house out of it so they are extremly prone to "Not wanting to fall for bad theology" again so when something like this comes along they are prone to take to the extremee just as some people who are more emotional are prone to take emotions in worship to a place that is unhealthy..... Basically this guy have them back a drug.... legaltism

The screens and dismal bands on stage are so dull-I usually arrive to church 20 minutes late to avoid the vapid experience. Whoever thought this was uplifting?? Dreadful

If you show up late because the music is empty and lacking sound theological content, then you should find a better church.

I thought I was the only one who felt that way about the music. And as to the other reply, if you live in a small town sometimes that’s the best you can do.

I’m a musician at a church, and it’s true, many people avoid the music because it’s too loud and un-singable. I don’t listen to “worship” music, even though I can play it like I do.

But you don’t specify what you claim is acceptable or not in church. So much has to do with individual church context - demographic, local culture etc.
