Big Neural fan but this is kinda cooked not gonna lie. Product has a LOT of limitations not mentioned in the video, also feels pretty advertise-y, like it’s really obvious you’re reading off a list of features their marketing department told you to hit in an email. I understand it’s sponsored content but still.

why is it crooked? I def see who can use this (me) - and for the price (1/4 of QC), it is pretty incredible. I use Neural for their tone / feel of emulations; IMO, no other modeling software nails an amp like they can.

It’s exactly like a Quad Cortex! Except it doesn’t have a screen, or amp modeling, or plugins, or customizable signal chain, or a drive block, or different effects for each type of block, and can only hold 5 IRs. But I swear it’s exactly like a Quad Cortex.

'Game Changer', 'small size', 'no screen', 'I've ordered 5'. Every time crap comes out the chorus of shills wakes up to defend a sawn-off product. It is the bestest evar, until the next pile arrives. Limited functionality, colored lights, check. No screen, check. Wait 3 months for a real review when people dare say how restricted it is to use. Then on the to the next new turd. 'take my money...' Remember this is just MY opinion having seen the garbage released and defended by the shills.

There are very little to no real reviews on youtube. It's all paid promotional videos where the company pays the youtuber to advertise the product to generate sales. Having a youtuber promote products will trick people into thinking this isn't an advertisement but an honest opinion on a product he somehow magically acquired. It's the new hip way to run commercials.

I Just don't get the point of this thing at the price point still way too expensive. Plus for less than half the price you can buy a multieffect tube amp for 200 to 250 that will blow this out the water. I just bought a Line 6 Spider Valve 40 watts with v30 in it for 200 at guitar center and there are Peavey Vypyr for like 250. You can buy both of these amps and still end up cheaper and have money to buy a creamback or v30 or whatever for the Vypyr, but honestly you can leave that speaker and run the v30 from the spider valve cab and have the v30 for both amps. You could also buy both there pedals and both amps and it cost about the same.

It's hard to trust reviews that can't highlight both the strengths and the drawbacks of a piece of gear, cause nothing is flawless, and those kinds of demos are all over the place now. As far as the unit itself goes, for this price, I go Helix Stomp. More features, same quality, comparable price, not as purely capture-focused, and I don't have to mess around with dialing tones etc on my damn phone... Thanks for doing this video. I play live in a band a lot. I currently use a Strymon iridium with loads of pedals it sounds great but it’s a messy look. I want to simplify. I always kept my live rig and studio rig separate using Neural DSP Nolly and now the free Nolly X. I love Neural DSP. So my plan is to take my Mac mini and use it live with NollyX and use a stream deck pedal. I will have an IPad as a screen. A small audio interface with a stereo di box or two mono di boxes. Compact rig on the go. This looks great but I want to try my solution for bringing my studio rig out live. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this video! So the way I see it is that you can use it to either capture your own signal chain at home, then you could just have a portable pedalboard version of the exact tone you're used to, or being able to use Neural plugins without taking up as much pedalboard space as the quad, at the cost of maybe not having as much ability to tweak specifics of tone? For me its actually perfect as someone who prefers real amps for recording but wouldnt want to deal with them live, but I can see why this would be underwhelming for someone who already uses neural plugins or has a quad cortex

I've been travelling a lot more lately and I love my Quad Cortex for writing, but also knowing if I nail a take, it can be used as a final-studio tone. But travelling with the QC in a non-professional, non-live scenario seems excessive. This seems like the perfect solution to that...

$500 for 4 preset switching of modelled amps worth $1000s each... and then just direct out to a PA. Its crazy good value for budget or small form factor gigging no? Unless youre playing setlists that need an insane amount of different sounds, you can play a whole show with this.

If you’re going to use this with other pedals then the tonex pedal would probably be a better choice unless you have a ton of amps to capture. Aside from KZbinrs glazing over this, it seems like neural missed on this.

This thing has literally 0 amp models. It is a straight up lie to say "younger brother of QC". Captures are not models This should be the first thing someone should say about it. (It has no amp models) This fact is hidden from customers and i wonder how many ppl will buy this and get shocked lol For capture, get tonex. For models, get hx stomp.

It's a competitor for IK's ToneX, nothing else. Let's face it: almost nobody has special enough gear to justify a capture function. So, I think ToneX One is the better option for 99% of people. Or an HX Stomp for about the same price with much more functionality (flexible effects) and where it actually integrates with the entire Helix platform, including the Native plugin. Neural STILL hasn't figured that out (yes, I know the work around).

TLDR: It does more than the ToneX, it does less than the HX stomp and it's priced roughly the same. Yes, it has a capture feature BUT let's face it: 99.9% of people don't own gear that special that you really really have to capture it. I would've hoped for more real innovation.

If you set aside the quality of the capture argument, it seems that the Kemper player has more features, more control over the effects you can use etc. that said, I do like the neural stuff a lot, and this is cheaper than the Kemper too
@KeyanHoushmandLive
@KeyanHoushmandLive 3 ай бұрын
I think a major difference between the Kemper Player and the Nano is that you can’t actually capture gear with the Kemper Player, it’s just able to load and play them. This is contrasted to the Nano, where you CAN capture gear directly onto it. Even so, the Nano is still $150 USD cheaper at the moment, but may lack some features that the Kemper Player offers. It really just depends on what your use case is and what you value more in your rig I suppose!

@KeyanHoushmandLive

@@armaganbaklacii the Nano and Quad are targeted towards completely difference markets and use cases. The Quad’s price difference is justified in the major differences of sheer processing power, extended routing options and physical capabilities. All those things would most likely be utilised to their full extend in a touring or dedicated studio environment. The Nano is a great solution for musicians and guitarists who don’t need to spend the extra money for all the features which the Quad has that they’ll rarely use, while also not missing out on any of the fidelity as both units use the host the same processes and therefore sound identical within the Nano’s limitations.
